Friendship – a seamless sky,
far too complex to gauge or delve.
At times like the early rays of morn,
    it fills one with joy.
At times like a gentle breeze,
    it cuddles and cossets.
At times like dark clouds,
    it overcasts the mind.

At times it comes blowing like a gale,
    sweeping us off our feet.
At times it sprouts like a seedling,
growing out into a tree, giving shade.
It blossoms like a Night Queen,
diffusing in the air, a heady scent.

At times like the plaintive notes from a flute,
    it saddens the soul.
Like a rainbow it may swiftly vanish,
    or remain like a beacon,
    guiding us when storms rage.

In darkness, it burns like a candle.
In loneliness, a sweet presence.

At times so silent
At times so very eloquent
Finally like an unfinished tale,
A fond memory,
A lingering scent
Like the life sustaining breath
It remains…..!

Fear overcasts hope

                     Terror has devoured Paris

                       Long is justice’s sword!*

* Those who committed this abominable crime would never
run far enough for to escape the retribution of justice!

 A Faerie Recognized! ©

Recognition led me near
To a ‘faerie’ dragonfly
Magic 'glow' attracts
I am astonished so
My quick ‘blink’ takes her to wing

beauty, fantasy, firework, imagery, insect, word play

Fireflies Showtime Haiku ©

Spring’s moon overcasts
Lightening sparks seen about
It’s here, there, then over to where now?
The fire fly’s show time!

Connected With Nature

I very rarely get up at the breaking of dawn
a blanket of muddy clouds
overcasts

an eyelash slither of light sliped pass
as the crescent moon cuts it's way through
with a wink

suddenly, in the neighbors yard next door
three startled deer stood in line
watching me
as I turned into my driveway

a quick dash and off
they ran for the thick woods
safe from the light of my headlights

no sooner than I parked
my headlight shining on the dead grass
engine running
a bushy tail rabbit ran into the light

I had forgotten how peacefully the animals play
under nighttime's moonshine
when I turn for my last snooze of the night

rarely
do I get up at the breaking of dawn
now I'm glad I did
as my spirit connected with nature once again

Trust

TRUST

Trust is dust and often it’s unjust
Trust is empty and it’s a fool’s comfort
Trust is just an emotional trap
Trust is just a justification for hope
Trust is superficial and it is not beneficial
                           Trust is just an idea
                          Trust is rusty and nasty
                           Trust is not an oath
                        Trust is not a covenant
Trust is just a state of mind
Trust is just a justified excuse to obscure the truth
                       Trust overcasts the truth
Trust is like lust its untrue and unjust
Trust is not a must for a just love
Trust is not the crux of love
Trust is a musk worn to oust the fuss
Trust is non-exist ant and far too distant
Trust is not a plea of allegiance
Trust is only hope, the hope that your only just and justified hope is Not betrayed, I do not
trust I only hope that the truth in something that I am led to believe in does not change
therefore I keep hoping and hence there no reason to talk
