I hate to outfox him again
but he is sweet and naïve
and I am diabolical and competitive
Pete could not decide whether to outfox or outwit
His sister said, “why not outsmart?” That hurt him a bit
Their brother was not easy to bamboozle, fleece or befool
Their mother suggested, why not first try the golden rule?

I am teaching the dogs about their new hangout
Where they can poop and pee and frolic about
They love it so much as long as I am it here too
But when I leave, my dogs jump up; they are through.
They think they can get past me.
And they can if they are running flat out.
If they are trying to out-play me
They have another think coming.
I have ten grandchildren, three children,
and I have parented over twenty dogs and six cats.
It is very difficult to pull something on me
that has not already been pulled a thousand times.
