It is not questioned that we all have a context,
But how free we each are to act is controversial:
To act in disagreement, to behave obstructively,
Or just to be laissez-faire about what’s practical.
We are all influenced by our family relatives,
To some extent, somewhat, in a certain way,
By our finances, minority, time and place,
So that we can be proud of our given day.
But this determinism is by no means incompatible,
With our actions and behaviour as being our own:
From our own thoughts, hearts, feelings and needs;
Our interests and desires have their own unique tone.
But a problem occurs when you caption god,
As able to determine or help us interact,
Because our will becomes not solely our own,
But springs from a being who won’t retract.
God is always there, we are all told to believe,
And won’t change in any way for societal progress;
But since we all know that god is a societal construct,
We can strive at living within our own duress.

FATHER
Misleading intentional deception,
loathing the complexity of risk and uncertainty.
Thoughts of contingent outcomes, minimizing losses,
analytical human behaviour.
The Army Ruler demands respect, obedience,
forgets the hurtful unconsidered words.
Tradition, history, status, all weigh heavily,
turdus merula cries in the storm.
Obstructively determined to prevail,
threats and ultimatums are heavy handed.
He can hear, but refuses to listen,
the heart is cold and concrete.
Sterling coins cannot buy love, obedience,
he creates his own demise.
Whispers in the wind are chosen words,
a child is gone forever.
