Normalise Poems

Vomit Map

Just a series of taps,
Deeper into that hole,
No that hole,

Just a series of taps,
All their holes,
Any hole you can imagine is here,

Just a series of taps,
Illegally legal & immorally moral,

Just a series of taps,
Finger tip mantras,
Normalise our naked youth,

Just a series of simple taps,
The Algorithm stealthily sells innocence,
To the slave market of the MAPs

The Rt Honourable Judge History

Normalise the teen
Seen slutty on your screen
Insta app’s the pimp

Youth attracted person
Sounds like feral yap
Bright colour’s brand sin

By history’s stone judge
The Black Cap atop his wig
For poisoners of innocence

When Maturity Hits Hard

There was a time when I was so real
I would speak my heart out with everyone
People would normalise my embarrassments
and say, "Kiddo, that's pretty common".

There was a time when I was so real
I would never hold my tears after feeling hurtful
I would refuse to talk to those who weren't familiar
There wasn't any place for pretence out there.

There was a time when I was so real
Imitating everyone's actions gave a lot of pleasure
but somewhere in the middle, I started lying
and I was given long lectures to never lie in my future....

There was a time when I was so real
'Eat, Sleep and Play' felt so practical
Playing with friends wasn't a special treat back then
Screaming, Laughing, and scribbling on walls wasn't a great deal....

Yeah, that was the time when I was real
I wasn't supposed to please everyone with a fake smile
I wasn't even considered boring if I was hurt and kept quiet
Why can't one be real and mature at the same time?

Speak the truth with intent to be helpful
Praise more, criticise less, with smile beautiful
Reach out often, rekindling past moments colourful
Empathise without attempting to weigh or size
Accept loving gestures in childlike surprise
Desist from declaring we are more wise
Illuminate the relationship with a touch kind
Nip in the bud discord that makes us misaligned
Greet and meet cheerfully, sowing seeds that bind

Hand out thank you notes expressing our gratitude
Appear when skies darken to fortify fortitude
Positivity and optimism be our attitude
Practice love’s presence without pretence
Inject in every moment soul’s innate effulgence
Normalise and harmonise faults using common sense
Energise life with the vibrancy pure love’s intention
Sanctify words we speak, through meditation
Surrender to flow of life, softening attention

Wind Up Humanism

Realm of humankind wheedled in reset,
Homeland beray, lull to beset,

Scrawling the parchment to a keyset,
Xenophobia in callousness,
Dearth to darn the clout concord.

Orness synergy alliance the terrene.
Berth errand the rassle office,
Commissions detach the hassle orifice...

Pensile the ensile spirits,
Circumscissile recoiled resiliency,
Nuanced tensile expansionism...

Normalise a new normal,
Order the prime heart to bloom,
Taper our united dreg to blossom...

Blight in frights,
Dight the twinight against any affright,
Infinity within.

I’ll not normalise that sort of behaviour,
I’ll not pretend it’s ok,
It’s not ok to live in a lie,
Not listening to what other folks say,

That those little thoughts are bad for our world,
Those plans don’t really belong,
That those actions and words will never conform,
That those actions and words are all wrong,

You see, those things that you said, they’re never ok,
They’re not the rules people live by,
They’re not the values embraced by the world,
And that is the real reason why,

Those words and ideas will not be embraced,
Not by me, my family, my peers,
Enough is enough, no more vicious and hate,
No more playing on other folks fears.
