All yesterdays I lived through
Gone for the mean today
Where nothing I can do
To make it slip away
There’s no room for tomorrow
Cause each and every day
I have a chance to borrow
Is got to be today
It starts with morning you can take
For evening, so blind grey
It is, and night for goodness sake
Continues the same way
A calendar don’t mean a thing
Today is wide and deep
No changes my today can bring
It’s like a Mobius strip
Goes round again, and there you are
Exactly where you’ve been
The day before, as calendar
Tells numbers you have seen
The exit door that leads away
I see in morning dreams
I’m sick to death of this old day
With all the sense it means
I see the same headlines again
In multiplied galore
Same lies and rants of the insane
I've read long time before
Or was it just the other day
I saw last year's news
Whatever happens is today
Regardless what you'd choose
A crowd actor in the play
Whose author is unknown
I live this life within today
That never can be gone.

Premium MemberA Mobius Strip

(“Mind’s Eye Merit Badge” #67, 2020, original oil)

A Möbius Strip

Mind and nature of mind
So close and yet so different
Not like night and day different
But earth and sky
Not two sides of the same thing
But opposites
One an is, the other an isn’t
One an illusion, the other real
This is how truth and falsehood exist
Like an object and its shadow
But the twist of course
Is that it’s the opposite of what we think
(what we think after all being a product of mind,
and mind, ultimately, just a mental construct)

One isn’t, the other is
But it only is, the lack of the other…

Premium MemberThe Endless River Flows

("Gravity's Rainbow", 2017, original encaustic)

The Endless River Flows

Everywhere sheep being led to slaughter
Everywhere the innocent seduced
Everywhere someone crying
While another looking up
Into open skies
As unspoken questions arise unbidden

These are the times of change and revelation
As demons are given form
To be confronted
As closets empty into streets
Overflowing
With the blessing of abundant matter

As everyone struggles to find what matters
Everyone, tempted at least,
To make manifest
Their wildest dream or
Darkest fantasy
Or secret wish of beauty

Who are you if not me
And me you
One for all and all for one
Even when we remain clueless
As those with vision
See and speak, chant and whirl

Have you ever wondered how, where, why
Mobius came up with his infinite strip
Or Escher his simultaneously
Ascending descending stairs
Giving us a path
For endless fervent pacing

Have you ever wondered why we dream
And how we can do it so well
Making worlds more vivid
Than the ones we don’t

Have you ever loved
Without reason
Without direction
Without any sense
Of accomplishing

Mobius

Across a field
to stand and feel
Earth's early breathe to rise
A silky fog amidst the dew
that mirrors there the light
in every gathered golden drop
that clings to blades of grass

Where the Earth doest meet the sky
and make of things continuous
to the naked eye

At play as if an end could be
a point where
the Earth and sky
and I could meet

But there I stand
Still, in motion
and feel the heart
within me beat
the morning dew
the soft spring grass
the Sun's transit warmth
and Earth's waking breathe
on the skin, my bare feet

I stand
Still, in motion
where the Earth and sky
Doest meet -

This rope
I do not remember
where is starts
or ends

I walk
barefoot
below it's dark
above a star

This rope
no yellow
brick road
no company

I walk
cold hands
my heart
thumps

This rope
is it an
umbilical
cord?

I walk
between
life and death
eternally

This rope
this Möbius strip
I walk
eternally

Mobius Strip

Stepping on a way because there is a one
though I don’t know where it will lead me to,
and while I was walking on the bright side of the way
I found myself stepping on the dark side of the way.

Since I am on the dark side of the way
I moved forward with cautious steps, and found this time,
what a joke this life is, I am walking on the bright side of the way.

Although the people call the way that is straight the right way
this way really confuses me, am I on the right track or not,
because there is only a twisted way that lies ahead
and it is called the right way.

Besides, this way seems to have an end
but nowhere can I find the end.

There is the dust covered tracks of the bulldozer
plowed through the forest felling trees,
the hillside is cut and crushed to build a concrete wall.

And along the Mobius strip there goes the eyeless tank
stepping on tomorrow with caterpillar tracks carrying
men’s endless desire, vain ambition.

From the beginning of the world many mishaps occurred
on this mismatched ambiguous way, it still is stretched before me,
it still is going on. I call this way is the Mobius strip.

The Mobius Strip

The Mobius Strip

Things change and are forever unchanging
Like rats in a maze confused and in a haze
We are fiending as we drink, puke, and blaze
Over and over again we learn the same lesson
But not if one is willing to face the blind truth
Just except this as a blessing in disguise
I am no exception to this rule don’t despair
Were all just passing on through here
Though it’s a path we must walk hard
Eventually we will all make it there.
