I’m bringing out the songs
lingering inside
as patrons in the bar
gaze at me—
I’ve been waiting for this night
for the last two days.
I am looking for the stars
while singing from my heart.
I sing I’ve Just Seen a Face
something I first heard
in sixth grade when walking
into the classroom.
Through the years it stirs
sweet memories of women I met.
I sing I Will, a ballad
for women I’ll always love.
People at the bar
wave cellphones lit like lighters
at a concert.
When I sing Band on the Run
by Paul McCartney and Wings
a sense of wanderlust fills my soul
to go back to my college town
as if I could live my life again.
I’ve been an aide to child welfare workers,
a laborer, a temp, and poet, too.
But now to the glow of neon lights
I become someone other than
my everyday self
as music spells the night.

Paul wrote songs he
sang with his guitar.
The “cute” one, he
has come amazingly far!
The “smart” one John
went successfully solo, but
one tragic day got
murdered by a nut.
George, smoker, lead guitarist
and spiritual, “quiet” one,
got cancer. He’d composed
“Here Comes the Sun.”
Ringo, the Beatles’ drummer,
met his second wife
filming “Caveman.” They’ve enjoyed
a long, rich life.

McCartney on Midsummer’s Night
So much of my life
I’ve thought if only
If only about things that could never be
If only Daddy had read for my daughter
If only Mammy had laughed with her
If only I’d seen a Beatle concert
If only I’d seen one of them........
And then it happened -
McCartney on Midsummer’s Night
In the National Stadium
A one time performance
First time here
He said Na Raza
But will he come again?
Who knows?
But sometimes the best things in life
Only happen once
Thank God for this If Only happening
Dreams can come true
For me and you
Paul too- thank you
But you may have to wait 50 years or more
But there may be a right time and place
There may be
Maybe there
In a time and place you’d never thought of
50 years from now or more
It may happen
In the end.............

NO ONE WANTS TO LIVE IN A COLD HOME
from the album "Heaters for Sale"
by Not Paul McCarney
No one wants to live in a cold home, cold home
Uncle Albert says you should go home, go home
Turn the heat up or sit by the fire
Toasty as upon a funeral pyre
Oo-hoo, because
No one wants to live in a cold home, cold home
No one takes the longest road home, road home
Put your feet up next to the blaze
Toes become candles before your gaze
Ooo-hooo!

I'm in love with Paul McCartney
My dream, for him to marry me
He'll sing to me songs like Hey Jude
While we dance 'round the house in the nude!
By Rhonda Johnson-Saunders, January 26, 2012
I know this is just wrong. LOL. I was thinking of all those swooning girls!

On a long walk through life I have had my ups and downs
and some not so long..
After a long day out in the sun I look foward to singing
to my favorite beatle songs...
Words like a day in the life and fixing a hole..
Change my lonely thoughts and let my mind roll..
A strawberry field thats so like my Garden, takes
this new poet to a place where my love is not hardened..
Two poets of a generation that there music and words carry on..
Has imspired me to write and share my thoughts and in spirit
we shall bond..
Never was into poetry before so
The Beatles are my Favorite..

The terms of the engagement
Had my head there in a tizzy
For it left me in amazement
And made me feel quite dizzy
The perception of the notion
Was one, complete insane
For her leaving was the motion
After marrying just for fame
So now she has celebrity
To come back, I dare not beg
I’d say with such alacrity
I’d beat her with her leg
