But love is a strong link

that promotes communion,

love is the amalgam that unites them

and do party in the heart...

Separated they produce nothing...

but together they bear fruits
    in creation...!

Go and Stretch a Puppy's Tail - With Apology To John Donne

Go and stretch a puppy's tail,
Get with rice a manioc root,
Tell me if sun will buy moon a veil,
Or to who he gave her leather boot,
Teach me to hear coyote’s singing,
Or to keep off drunk bees’ stinging,
            And sniff
            What skiff
May tell you where I gobble lollipop.

If you think that you are so witty,
    And brag you can do anything worse;
Visit all the liquor shops in the city,
    Till you spend last loonie in your purse;
You, when you come home, will tell me,
All the grand bottles that you did see,
            And swear,
            No where
You saw any man gobbling lollipop.

If you find one, let our son know,
    It’ll water his mouth with sweet;
Yet I’m sure, son will not go,
    Though at next door you might meet;
And he were eating, when you met him,
And last, till you guide our son there,
            Yet he
            Will be
Gobbling bottles of Madeira, not lollipop.

Lamp

Lamp

Mustn’t you cry
Or put your head down
Rid yourself of it now
Mustn’t it eat you alive

A rotten soul never dies
It’s presence is fresh in our minds
The scars have healed
But the words survived

Sweep the dust
Mustn’t you put the brush down
‘till its gone
Mustn’t you linger in the dark
Hold up the lamp and walk the mile

A good eye
Sees plentiful harvest
Yam, Manioc and plantain
Pretty grass skirts
Beads and face paint
A heated leaf
Wrapped with spiderweb around the leg
To protect against malaria

A good nose smells dawn’s crisp, misty breath

Shoots arms up, yawns and takes a breath

A good ear , listens ‘till it’s done
Embracing warmth

A good mouth
Helps prepare the day’s catch
And shares the batch
Rotten is the fruit
The enemy shares with you

Shall you know him
His capabilities
Let you not be fooled
For you will be doomed

Cancer Can Sir

Cancer-
Is it beyond cure?
Death,like a tomorrow sure?
No causes found yet for this case
More lives going to rest in peace
Cancer for long,playing havoc
Doctors sick of fighting to block
No cure found for cancer?
Then how the old escaped from this wiser?
Can't cure, why,this killer cancer?
Can Sir! there is cure for cancer
Root causes what for cancer?
A root in turn here as an answer
No more sick go nor panic
Here is a herbal called manioc
Intake today,take tomorrow manioc
Avoid at all walking towards any clinic!

The Island

My island slept for years in the care
Of Tainos, Caribs and Arawak
Their canoes on the sea breast bare
Dreaming of milk from manioc
The swamps unscarred, trees secure
Batos and songs rinsed in the azure.

Then came doom laden caravels came
Prancing with Conquistadores
Their swords to slaughter, then to shame
The Ave Marias slutted by whores
Whose blazing balls of canons denied
The sufficient death of the crucified.

My island was the Mary Magdalene held
For ransome in the frying lust
For gold, the continental wars spelled
A trembling virginity in the dust
A lost of idyllic grace, where bloody men
Sowed the evil inherited again and again.

From Spanish to French, Spanish to British
How callous is all history
A spectre publishing the marginal brutish
Shrivelled glory of identity.
And still my Mary, her alabastor box a gift
This tropic wonder, this lignum vitae of thrift

From empty tomb to broken hearted disciple
Evanglizes the Mahoe dawn
Over the Blue Mountain where peace ripple
On the motto, still the fawn
In the forest brings the stag to court
This island stands ready to file a good report.
