This evening sneers, lurks and is snooty,
and dares to look through my window,
peers like something with substance,
gawps into that mirror on the wall.
Yes, evening, you ogle.
Your black glance is on my glass of wine.
showing your low lordliness,
condescending in your awesome manner of night,
sitting there with your supercilious sight, scoffing, gazing.
Who are you?
When will you cease to be night,
become the radiance that will be tomorrow?
Yet you'll sit throughout that day
awaiting its darkening moments.
Oh, yes, light will soon be you, night,
and scoff at me with your dark, dark face.

Oh Lord
Bathe me by your purity
The day break solemnity
Allow me to embrace by my soul
Lost by the life lived so brutality
Condone my sin, and
Allow me to live with ethereality.
Oh Lord
Mesh me by your allegiance
The day break innocence
Allow me to bow down by my mettle
Veiled by the mortals so boisterous
Forgive my errs, and
Allow me to breathe gratuitous.
Oh Lord
Bosom me by your lordliness
The day break placidness
Allow me to close my eyes by my idolatry
Bygone by the traits so savageness
Relieve my ail, and
Allow me to die onliness.

...for Sylvia Plath
White wisps in
killing glow
dissolve.
Whiteness
won't redeem her;
arctic and stark,
bright yet lifeless.
Barren,
a spectre
without purpose,
she teeters
in darkness,
alone in her lordliness.

...for Sylvia Plath
White wisps in
killing glow
dissolve.
Whiteness
won't absolve her;
arctic and stark
it wills her ill.
She's hollow,
assured of
missing
opportunities.
She swaggers
in darkness,
alone in her lordliness.
