Hubris
...for Sylvia Plath
White wisps in
killing glow
dissolve.
Whiteness
won't redeem her;
arctic and stark,
bright yet lifeless.
Barren,
a spectre
without purpose,
she teeters
in darkness,
alone in her lordliness.
