Born In Sin
Who decided that I was to be born in sin? Can life be judge at conception? At birth? And when is the first sin committed? When you cry out just to be held And not out of hunger To be warmed by the tranquil touch Of a mother's loving arms and bosom If a child is born innocent Than how can we be born in sin? Does a Just God place the burden of sin Upon the new born? Sins of the father upon the child To generations hence Thank you Adam and Eve If God can not forgive the sins of the first How can He forgive those of the last? I squeeze the soft sand in between my toes And gaze upon the heavens in the evening light The enormity of existence The belittling of self If I could scatter the grains of sands into the beyond Would they match the stars? Born in sin Before I myself could ever decide I was condemn to die by being born I wish I could stretch my arms and touch the stars Embrace the stubble Face of God And tell Him Lord I love You Is that not enough for You to love me too? Born in sin
