Today I danced around my rose garden
as I typically do
enjoying all the varieties of colors
all remaining true
But today something wonderful happened
as the birds, butterflies and bees
lead me to the corner of the garden
to see what I couldn’t believe
It was a single rose
in the color of pure honey
it was so beautiful and smelled so fresh
Everything about it was so sunny
It’s stem did not have any thorns
which was strange to me
It seemed to be welcoming me
and wanted me to see…
That beauty can be found in difference
as to be like others need not be
and true friendship can be held together
if one so much believes

Friends can be found at any age and in any mind.
Some leave a deep mark, others act out behind.
They're worn like clothes for maximum comfort.
Make changes every time for maximum effort.
Similar to cutting and polishing a stone pattern.
An edge can be polished into gems for a lantern.
Putting you in touch with potential long-term friends
Dazzling like precious jewels, life on them depends.
When shared ties are expected, intimacy is real.
I've seen many care deaths, yet friends conceal.
Mates are plentiful, but cash is tight as looks fade.
Just polite farewells—true friendship is shade.

Why can't my heart just accept
I've always been a reject
Friends I never truly had
Making me blue and so sad
Laughed at every single day
My life was in total dismay
Why can't others look and see
More than the outside of me
Inside my emotions are
Brighter than the biggest star
Full of love, kindness and care
I try to spread cheer everywhere
But that doesn't count at all
When I'm pushed against the wall
With all of the large peer pressure
That turns my life nothing lesser
Than I planned on it to be
Is it wrong to be friendly
Not wanting to drink and smoke
It feels like I'm being poked
With a finger of the devil
Tipping the balance of level
I don't want to slide off from
By acting stupid and dumb
Doing things I really hate
Will not make me feel great
So I live life on my own
Being the girl I've always known
Waiting patiently to find
Someone else so pure and kind
That accepts the way I live
A true friendship I will give

True friends are really a treasure so rare
There are not many like that who really cares.
If you happen to have one exactly like that
Be happy you got lucky,so toss high your hat.
Real friends wish to share everything with you,laughter and tears
And like finest wine they just get better all throughout the years.
They will be loyal,honest and true no matter what you may go through
A true friend will not hurt you on purpose and she always care for you.
There are not many good friends around like this they're hard to find
Better just have one true than maybe dozens that are untrue and fake in kind.
So if you already have a true friend consider yourself very lucky everyday
And treat well that friend with all the love and respect that(she or he)deserves all way.

Since the day I was born
You were always my friend,
And I'm sure we'll be friends until the end.
I'm not sure what I would be doing without you...
My dearest friend,
We always come back together in a happy end.
I have always loved you as a best friend.
And I am glad I reunited with you again.
When I met you, my wonderful friend,
I slowly began realizing
What makes a true friendship...
It's not always about what me
And my friend have in common,
So I must always try to stick to them thick and through.
But when I do stop being around
Someone because I'm not being true,
It seems that my bonds become deeper
And the matter of the smallest differences
And the past are steeper.
Meaning that we don't need to walk down those steep stairs,
Where we went different paths,
But it seems that no matter which way I go
I always end up with being one of you again.
My true friends, I want to forever sustain our friendships.
Dear, sweet flower of the Orient,
How kind you have been to me!
We are but half-a-world away,
Yet the scent of your blossom
Is carried to me on the breeze,
Its silky aroma a charm, sublime,
With a tender fragrance of affection.
Like soft notes from a shakuhachi,
You have brought to me a song
Of Byzantine beauty and grace ...
Like snowflakes on Mount Fuji,
Your heartfelt notes have drifted
Into my days to make me smile,
Giving me a gift, forever priceless -

If you do not have a fantastic sense of humor you will not make the cut,
Because my friends like to smile, joke, and laugh, sometimes they howl with laughter, but
My best buddies can be serious when they have to, when someone is hurting or sad,
And they can be the best kind of listener when someone has made me insanely mad.
I look for honor and trust in all of my very best friends, it has to be there.
If I did not revere them, our friendship would be dishonest, totally not fair.
When I got to PoetrySoup, one person in particular was especially kind.
She got on SoupMail and gave me some pointers, many quite brilliant and fine.
We have had this transatlantic relationship since that very same day,
If I ever had a chance to meet her in person, I would say hip hip hooray!

Qualities You Admire In Friends

Throw a great feast and the world fills your halls,
Cry for help when disaster strikes and few will come;
For every man has enough pains and sorrows of his own
And none really cares about yours except your mum.
True friends are rarer than the choicest gold,
And enemies have perfected their pretense and guise;
They want to be closer to know your life well,
In order to plot your downfall and trim your rise.
So it’s up to you naive chap to learn how to live
In a world full of faked intimacies and crocodile tears,
And though you will never fully tell chums from your foes
You will have to distinguish honest from bogus cheers.
Pray that God protects you from enemies you can’t know
And be to all that need your help merciful and kind;
Ask for wisdom to know true friends from the faking hordes,
And be a friend yourself and a true friend you’ll find.
In the game of life, fair play should reign
For cheating and foul play brings only pain
It's not about winning at all cost
But about showing character and not getting lost
Fair play starts with respect and honor
Acknowledging the rules without any dishonor
It's about playing by the book
Not seeking shortcuts that will end in mistook
Winning is important, there's no doubt
But not at the expense of others, so don't shout
For it's not just about you, but everyone
So play fair, and let competition be fun
When you play fair, the victory will be sweet
For there will be no deceit, just healthy competition to meet
With honor and pride, you can stand tall
Knowing you played your best, giving it your all
Thus, let's uphold fair play and sportsmanship
For it's the embodiment of true friendship
Playing by the rules will make us all winners
For fair play is the key to life's grandest dinners.
True friends are like stars
Some are near and some are far
They will always be there
to calm you in your time of fear
True friends are like the sun
Wishing brightness for everyone
Always wanting the best for you
happiness, health, prosperity too
True friends are like the rain
Time to time the truth to say
Truthfully telling how they feel
You may detest it, this friend is real
True friends are like the moon
A shining light to remove your gloom
Always lending a helping hand
Even when you thought there was no one

Through rough or pleasant weather
