It was quite a while ago,
I came here and wrote,
"BB was not here" and "JJ is here
On Queen Birthday 10 Jun 2024".
These words were written on the sand
On the the shores of both sides of the pier.
As time passed on, JJ sat and watched
The waves washed up onto the words,
Slowly encroached, engulfed and wiped
Them away bit by bit horizontally.
At the end, both written words on the beach,
In front of JJ, they all disappeared.
Then 6 months later I brought JC here,
It was his first trip to this beach,
Since he came down from Sydney.
At the end of last year.
I hoped he enjoyed the trip, the ferry,
The tourist town and our first date out.
Twenty two weeks went by,
The ocean, the beaches and the scenery
Remain almost the same as always.
But these two individuals have long gone,
The feelings and the friendships had finished for sure.
Frankly my friends BB and JC,
I do not care or feel ashamed.
I have lived five decades and seen many faces,
Some had double and some made troubles.
Strange and weird but I was sure,
Over three interactions with people,
Unless they had full intentions,
I usually spotted out their hidden agenda.
If they were sheeps wearing wolf skin
Even crooks in professional suits.
I was tired of dealing with them,
It was like having endless battles
To find for fairness and justice.
I. Creation
Before the troubles of the world infect the soul
The magic of imagination creates a womb
Devoid of torment, pain, and stress. Rainforests,
Jungles, beaches, other worlds of elation where
You are always the victor in battle, the one
Who finds true love, alpha and omega. Never
Landing in withered trees or dead grass, only
Strong trunks and rolling plains, an ocean
Of stars, a blanket while lying comfy on
Palm fronds floating down calm dreamy
Rivulets of turquoise streams. Locomotives
Wind down vast forest covered country sides
Their tracks gliding to the warm earthy
Humming sound only they can make.
Only now with danger, inherent only to your peaceful fire
Bring you to this happy place, a place desired.
II. A Home all Your Own
In the world of yesterdays and tomorrows
And days lost in the gyre of solstices we
Create a world unto ourselves. Paradises
Lost to the antiquity of children trapped
Inside their adult armor. Lies tipped with
Poison seep into the wells of being, melting
The oil from the canvas’ that dreams are painted on.
Cheap reminiscences flash through tattered wafting
Curtains. Nightmare doppelgangers wait in quarries
of fire breathing mountain giants laying siege to
Rapture found in a good escape. Chemical
Demons like iron maidens brandishing your
Favorite drugs, syringes close in creating
An eerie starry night
To you alone
In a home all your own.
III. Repent to your inner child
To regain a solid footing on the gun deck
Of the warship you’re riding in the flotsam,
Hearken lessons from the playground,
The bruises, nicks, and cuts proudly earned
Ensure the necessary skills are acquired
To embark on adventures of the body.
Hiding in shrouds like an angel
White egret with horsehair-like crests and
Misty wings is the caged fury of joy, her
Wings mightier, beak stronger, eyes sharper
And love unabated from years unvisited.
Swelling seas are sailed, reefs can’t breach
A flying draft when joy carries her burden
Aloft. Hair amber and aflame in the setting sun
Amidst a new sea of clouds, only anchor
In a child’s heart when the dream fades
And the soul returns among the shades.
Form:
So many days find troubles on the rise
and happiness is wearing a disguise
When all my colors have turned blue
and fear has stuck to me like glue
I always know that words won’t let me down
My pen can find a way to ease the pains
when storm clouds fill my heart and then it rains
When thoughts are frenzied in the night
and nothing in the world seems right
I always know my words won’t let me down
For I can write the sun and fill the sky
and script the moon inside a lover’s eye
or fill the page with fantasy
then it becomes so real to me
When all seems lost, I have my words
and words won’t let me down
Words have a way
To etch fond say
In fun and play
Words in a surge
Can feed an urge
In thoughts that merge
Words paint and show
A certain glow
Of light that flows
Words touch and heal
Or else conceal
Meaning that spills
Words in good time
Can slot new rhymes
In truth that chimes
Words on a page
Can line and stage
Time beyond age
Words can cause hurt
In splash of dirt
In unkind flirt
Words in a string
Can hurl and fling
Troubles that spring
Words spread a balm
As soul knows calm
In voiceless psalm
Words work to fill
The air with thrills
In timely spills
Words cannot flow
Where stillness grows
A silent show
Words are but thoughts
That speak a lot
In ceaseless plots
Words take a break
When thoughts forsake
Mind games most fake
Words feed the prime
Of curls that rhyme
In lines that chime
Words become still
In drowning fill
Of weary will

Merlin was found abandoned when he was a kitten
Wet, cold and hungry, and badly flea-ridden
His meowing was constant, distressingly high-pitched.
Having been cruelly treated, then callously ditched.
He quickly grew strong and quickly grew big.
His recovery, a blessing and miraculously quick.
Energetic, playful, inquisitive and fun
He loved being outdoors in the warmth of the sun.
His coat white and silver, and sparkling blue eyes
A handsome, cute cat came as no surprise.
He had a white fluffy chin that looked like a beard
And dark patches of fur at the top of his ears.
A gentle big cat, affectionate and loving
Many people said, "He's so friendly and stunning."
My anti-cat neighbour even welcomed him in
I soon started to see a different side of Jim.
We began visiting care homes and shelters.
Adults and children charity centers
The effects on people were amazing to see.
People called it Merlin The Magic Cat Remedy.
The top of his tail would always hook over
His greeting, his hello as we moved around closer
His tail like a staff that seemed to emit magic,
Helping the troubles in lives that were traumatic.
He always responded with a gentle meow
Healing and mending, only Merlin knew how.
His soft, gentle purring was very hypnotic
Relaxing and soothing, a therapeutic tonic.
Through the years, he gained a mystical reputation
And connecting through telepathy communication
He brought smiles and laughter, and inner peace.
Pent-up emotions, some, learned to calmly release.
At the age of fourteen, Merlin sadly passed away.
His legacy and memories live on to this day.
Never afraid, good-natured, gentle and kind.
Healing through spirit, body, and mind.

Rex and Reza were buddies
who lived in Afghanistan,
which they both had to leave mighty quick
for fear of the Taliban.
Rex enjoyed special treatment
and left on the next available flight.
Reza for his part had no such luck.
What caused his miserable plight?
Let me explain to begin with.
Reza was a man, no alsacian.
he risked his all to serve the UK,
but received no help from this nation.
Rex enjoys choice morsels in the officers' mess.
He romps in fields of clover,
but for Reza, sad to say,
his troubles are far from over.
After many a danger and many a peril
he escaped to a cold French strand.
the English coast was now his goal,
but there he failed to land.
The British navy picked him up,
by which time they had passed a new law.
For all the sacrifice he made
Rwanda is opening its door
I'm only here for one reason
I finally see
that Jesus died as an atonement
for me
so I will praise through
my issues in life
I will praise through
as I worship the Lord Christ
I now understand
I fully comprehend
that His spilt blood
eradicated my sins
so I will praise through
my issues in life
I will praise through
as I worship the Lord Christ
If not for His grace
there'd be no me
If not for His mercy
a new day I"d never see
If not for His sacred blood
I'd never receive His unwavering love
so I will praise through
all my struggles
I will praise through
all my troubles
now down on bended knees
to praise He who watches over me
I will praise through
my issues in life
I will praise through
as I worship the Lord Christ
I will praise through
grateful for His favor
I will praise through
giving all glory to my Savior
I will praise through
A Day Late but not forgotten

Nineteen months and a day ago, my Barbara left this life
She was my muse, my lover, was my darling and my wife.
I'm in a Louisiana motel room, writing this a little late
A little tired from traveling but feeling more than great
This week found me helping out, the Captain grandkids in their house
They were in the midst of PCS with more troubles than a mouse
Furniture was broken, not delivered, maybe lost
Boxes covered everything, they were all mixed up and tossed
No day care available, for our Great grandson Dean
All was so up in the air than anything they'd ever seen
I was home in North Carolina when last week was getting through
Thoughts from Barb came to me, there is something you must do.
We'll get up in the morning and head for San Anton
See what we can do to help them, to let them know they're not alone
That we are still there for them, to help them with their things of note
I know we'll make things better, although I have to work remote
We got there Sunday afternoon, you were there within my heart
All week we cleaned and painted, constructed some, and pulled apart
We progressed by OJT, things moved from bad to good
Constructed some new furniture made of metal, screws and wood
We did whatever we could do, to give a helping hand
We were given thanks for everything; appreciation, not demand
My extra hands were helpful as was your help from up above
I left their home this morning with much progression fed by love.
As I'm headed home to NC, they are headed for Kentuck
Cancer took another, nothing at all to do with luck
Dalton's mother's father has passed to join you there
Both of you remain still here, memories in us all who care
You fear knowledge,
run from it as you would a gathering storm,
to hide in the dark forest of your life's ordeal.
Seeking nothing,
but self-satisfaction, blaming others for your lot in life.
Hiding from the responsibility of your own actions.
To need someone to appear seeking power,
a power you give easily, without reason.
Promises made so you feel secure,
from the fears of your own design.
A puppet to a master of anger gives comfort.
Exposed lies mean nothing,
hating truth covers the guilt within,
while you hear a world that gives reason,
for your hatred.
This self-loathing in your soul,
is a sickness that lays at the very foundation,
of your heart, allowing hypocrisy to be your arguments,
as to why you follow this chosen leader.
You'll condemn a President who talks to enemies,
yet praise a God who washes the feet of a prostitute.
Two things apart, yet tied together,
by the rope of truth that gives service to others.
Raise your banner high,
it waves in the strong winds of history's hate.
Already past, now rising again,
from the same fields of ignorance,
the loathing of intellectual truth,
that all men are created equal,
unless,
they don't wear what you wear,
hear what you hear,
pray like you pray,
hate like you hate.
This is the world you bring to the rest of us?
Because you're afraid,
because you hate,
because your skin reflects the light,
because you're weak,
and need a leader whose a mirror image,
of you're insecurities,
to tell you what's right, what's wrong.
Because all your troubles come from " Those People "
" The Others ", Its their fault you have failed.
This power you give this leader,
because he pointed out "Those People "
It's easier to agree than to challenge his words.
Life would be so much easier,
if we would just get rid of " Those People "
What ever happened to, of the people,
by the people, for the people?
It was sold to a crazy leader for 30 pieces of fear.

Sometimes, when I run out of love and I’m feeling empty
That’s when I think that the whole world is against me
I go around town wearing an upside-down frown
Like a buffoon of a clown
I can’t put on a masquerade
If beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, I want a new face
Every time I cry, a bucket of tears my clown face erases
Volumes of liquid my body replaces
My life is an open book, a poignant story, an ongoing miniseries
If you read it or live it, it will leave you feeling eerie
I have created my own bubbles of troubles
No one can pop it
I row my own boat of pain
No one can rock it
I don’t want to end the puddle of misery I wallow in
I take great joy in the pity that I’m swallowed in
I rub it all over my body like lotion
If I choose, I could wash it away in one quick motion
Who’s normal in this society?
I don’t need a Ph. D. to diagnose me to see if I’m alright
It’s a mental and physical self-cleansing act to cry
So, if you see me in the streets with a smile and a tear
I might be feeling down but smiling ear to ear
This façade I present isn’t a new act to me
I’m not the author of this confusion
Trying to send me to an institution
I make my own choices
Me and all of my voices
They are the ones that reach out to me
And help me break down ideas and innuendos to the very last compound
Of what is considered normal in society
It is only an exaggerated afterthought of Parallels of Reality
