(Poet’s Note : This poem is the first of two poems on The Nature of Truth)
Truth came from the purest of pure
smell of pine between toes endure
from crystal streams where trout shimmer
like rainbow dreams
from seagulls on wing, willow whisper then sing
deep down Poseidon takes his blue cue anew
She came from violet centres
floating in a bowl she enters
new-borns suck her milk rippling
down sunburnt throats
never forlorn, sailing a boat
Truth swoops her eagles over the Globe
travelling cyberways to hold her laughter
floating from Galactic Sun
Radiant across every gradient smiling
warmest sweet, tiny perfect teeth
gleaming in a tweet !
She came to stroke, sprinkle justice with
joy, transform lies with tears, lifting hearts from holes with bells on her toes
out of dirt, up the stairs eating mushrooms
with dare
breathe in human hair, listening to rolling
drums with care, sucking sweet nectar
She senses through many lenses
Truth comes to give Grace, sweetbreads
shout-outs, petals, stardust, eggs
across ages and aeons from Mercury
Venus and Mars to give answers in
glasses between shells from lagoons
Her breath smells of grass newly cut
exuberant nasturtium and lily in hug
conflicts melt away
Truth in a barn where couples lie
butternut soup on a winter’s table
where fathers laugh with a terrier
in good health, Siamese
purring on a persian rug
Truth completes a circle, opens up
channels joyously

Before I tramp the course of my cause,
A family indeed we were, I and Kole
But I short of years from the other.
Only by words we keep memory of
A deceased mother like morning dew
Sought for by the gloaming. We knew
Only a father whose right hand does
The masculine labour and his left hand
Undertook the feminine chore
And grew us up from tendril to maturity.
Nothing moves the heart as do feelings,
The impression creates of a moving mountain.
But with one mind accept I all that be
And live a life devoid of melodrama.
Behind laughter abide the trail of tears
And in my tears was laughter’s bare face.
Work, leisure, sickness, health, joy, sadness
Nothing so transporting or so flummoxing
As to heave my heart off the balance of life.
As an ass, it does not sigh over its burdens
And the camel do not complain of thirst
Through the drought of the desert.
By Fate’s design we lost Kole who had
Found natural escapism from life in death
Whereof the dead cannot forgo to return.
I, left with a father I pampered and cared for
Always after his heels and by his lounge
And all lips hailed the good son of a father.
Time takes precedence to test all values
And fate takes no cognizance of kinship.
Every cord has been broken by birth.
Day by day is the wake of another day
And again it would go back to slumber.
Harmattan made the land to be bard,
It would smile while the sun is out but
Only to become moody with drops.
Playing, gaming, travelling, interacting,
Have excused the drabness of existence.
Below the earth is the hue of brown
And above the sky is the hue of grey.
I have left my father and home into
The city to make a fortune and a name
For they all have queried a son cannot
Always be a honeybunch to a father
But must seek to be a sovereign man.
Now I traverse through the fleeting land
All my goods and affiliates lay aside.
Being an heir, I am no heir to fleeting goods.
Why throw away the bad grains
And then store up the chaff?
I will walk through the sands of time until
I halt in my course to become sand.
A father I commit to the hands of nature
And goodwill of kinsmen and friends.
Those dam fireflies will not turn of the lights
I began to dream of you as the curtains close
the one and only who makes life complete
Travelling feelings through a body of flesh
kissing emotions softly whistling
good morning adoring light
You honey melt into my desires
each golden ray in passions finger
paint flowing warmly down in deep beauty
A river touching gravel beds
happiness dances inside joy skips a beat
Where the butterflies dance in magic
each and every single breath enchanting
Singing songbirds in one choir
inside the garden paradise of bliss
Swimming within waves
treading softly over golden sands
Deeply in the depths touching
one treasure flawless sparkles
Here I kneel before you love
sword of truth held
at the ready in these hands
A reflection in the armor
baring this soul
Mightier the power that shields
to protect and defend
your honor at the ready
To die in the face of your grace
sweetheart you who gave me the gift of life
measured by courage and everlasting devotion
I promise us sharing our songs inside
has yet to be sung full of glory
shouting love from the highest peak
howling out across many seas
Travelling forlorn in the desert of an imperfect life
in the maze of your deceptive dunes I wander,
enticed, I’m seduced by your face behind the mask,
my broken heart turns into debris in your swathe.
I don’t know where I’m meant to be and to belong,
but try to find a place in the oasis of your flawed love.
I end up becoming dense dust in the cracked wasteland
and blow away to the obscurity in the desert storm.
From the tree of yearning that grew in desolation,
I’m now dislodged and meandering as a torn leaf,
rustling with the tormenting tune of melancholic music,
on its journey of despair beyond the horizon of isolation.
Under the scorching sun burning the façade of desire,
as I drift desiccated across the dunes of deprivation
with shifting sands of time designing myriad of illusion,
in the mirage flashing in your eyes I see my destruction.

The Vikings surviving
Travelling fighting
All were uniting
Ending enlightened
invasion surprising
England arriving
Provided a King
Fought and did win
The Normandy Vikings
My family were tied in
aligned with the timings
Madness my mind thinks
Extraordinary findings
All of it binding
From Norway as Vikings
Invasion and fighting
winning exciting
crowning the king
Battle of Hastings
History writing
William the Conqueror
Past paths wonder for
The first to the pinnacle
Witnessed a miracle
My Family ancestry
Walked with the best I see
very impressed I be
My life depressing me
A photon checked into a hotel,
a rather interesting sight.
It was asked "Do you have luggage?"
It said, "No, I'm travelling light."
When I'm at home I like to read books,
and relax in my dressing gown.
I'm reading a book about anti-gravity.
I just can't put it down.
Staying in shape is important,
of that there is no doubt.
I keep trying to exercise
but it just isn't working out.
My friend fell into an upholstery machine -
one of the strangest things I've ever seen.
Everyone was shocked and exclaimed "Wow!",
but I can say he's fully recovered now.
Mathematicians are so smart.
Their work is often stunning.
But to the guy who invented zero,
thanks for absolutely nothing!
There was a WWI soldier
whose name was Bobby Pederson.
He survived both mustard gas and pepper spray.
He was a seasoned veteran.
Computer scientists are brilliant,
I must admit.
How much do they like 0 and 1?
Quite a bit.
"Good day sir, I've been travelling and looking for a place to stay,
but I heard the Overlook Hotel is dull, all work and no play?"
"Come on in there's lots of rooms, more beautiful here than Florence,
Snowcapped mountain view ya know, nice to meet you, I'm Jack Torrance.
The Overlook is great you see, built sturdy with mortar and (Ku)bricks.
Besides, the roads are all snowed in, you'd be leaving at you're own risk."
"Well thank you Jack, I guess I'll stay, it is already past eleven.
I'll just head upstairs and get unpacked, room key, 237.
------------------------------------------------------
I was wondering why there seems to be bloodstains down the hall,
and why someone would think to write the word, REDRUM on my wall?"
"Oh don't mind that, it's just some kids, now go and get some grub.
And when you head back to your room don't mind the woman in the tub.
--------------------------------------------------------
I came to get you for the big event , I knocked to nicely ask,
but you wouldn't come answer the door, so I chopped it open with my axe."
"Mr. Torrance you had startled me, I'm sorry if I ignored you,
but you yelled, Here's Johnny, chopped a hole, and stuck your head through!
This has been a bit unorthodox, I'd like to leave here if I can,
I won't be taking any more referrals from that Mr. Halloran."
"I'm really not so bad and if you stay we can surely have some fun.
I'll show you in a moment, Come on Danny! that's my son.
It's just that all this writer's block, it puts me in a craze.
Let me make it up to you, come and play with us, in the maze....."
(Conversation with Jack Torrance of The Shining )
when travelling
know where to start from
and you will always arrive on time
we are never going to get
out of this backwater
of self or that
greater planetary Self
on rocket fuel
fording light years requires
a certain stillness
each person
is a facsimile of this world
what is outer is also inner
what is above is below
when we get this
we can really climate change
good to be a metaphorical tree
better to be a root
where the eyes of the forest are
everything has a center
find that
and start from there
any meaningful journey
is beneath the path taken
ignore that watchful stillness
and you will lose your way
between A and Z
The rain came down
It continued the whole day
Wind blew strong too
Beat against the house
More than hundred years old
The roof couldn't bear
It came down in slabs
On the second floor
It was in the middle of night
A family of four was asleep
In the very second floor
All awoke and was stunned
The whole floor they found
Covered by massive debris
Only their room was unaffected
The rest was under the rubbish
As they were nervously coming down
A flash of light caught their eyes
Contour of a lovely face
With a raised palm of pink hope
It must be the Angel
Said the twelve year old girl
We love our neighbours
So she came to save us
The whole family agreed
As they looked on
The beauty travelling to the stars
By then the rain had stopped
The father told confidently
It was the Mother -- Mother Teresa
I too think so, said the mother
Their eyes on the residual light
Angel saves the family
Was the news in next day's daily
Most people said: Amen
A few laughed away too

In open fields, at a musical concert,
their eyes made contact, setting
their hearts ablaze,
Not even a hundred-and-one things
could distract them as they were in
a dreamlike daze,
They walked through the crowd as
if it were a maze,
The encounter left them ecstatically
happy for countless days.
Their love was easygoing, but
over time, it grew into something
beautiful and lasting,
Travelling together through time and
distance, they still had the same
feelings as when they first met,
Now drifting in tranquil harmony,
with no excitement left but illnesses
and uncertainty, yet both proclaim
life’s perfect.
A bond of divine love binds them
together, both happy and pleased
with Cupid’s casting.
Love is food for the Soul and music
to the ears,
It adds sweetness to life and puts
springs in our steps, and once it
takes hold, it takes control.
