Has it been ?
It has been – from then until now – a long winding road,
journeying through forests, up mountains, in graveyards,
down valleys, into hell fires, experiencing life’s diversions,
filled – heart ache, heart break, pointless pain inflicted
and yet, continues to carry on - arriving at this place,
this point in time and space, that I have come to – empty !
Has it been ?, fate, destiny, genetics, karma, heritage,
unenlightened choices that have guided the foot steps
to the door, behind which an empty heart, an indifferent
soul, a cold spirit awaits, to foil every attempt to enter.
Could ?, this ghostly apparition be the avenging angel
- for – setting before me, for me all the pain,
all the heartache that has followed in my wake
as I take, this, my journey towards the empty,
meaningless, void that seems to be me and my life.
Only the stars, steel bars and the angels know
what lies behind / within the shadows of this life !

I tend to think stranger in strobe light
Something about this floor isn't right
I keep seeing my woman waltz away
With my arch-rival
It's a great depression –
If you must dance, dance for survival
The show gets better the longer you look
I finger my philosophy book
And take a page from the age
Of piano recitals
It's a great depression
And if you must dance, dance for survival
Didn’t you know I could read your thoughts
Respect the whip, I was always taught
Speak softly and carry no stick
Or be held liable
It's a great depression and if you must dance,
Dance for survival
You push the rock like the tragic will
Good blood has been shed on many a hill
Give it a week,
And even God will feel suicidal
It's a great depression
And if you must dance,
Dance for survival
Let's give this baby a little juice
Massage the gears till the grease cuts loose
Make it your own, should the engine
Slip into idle
It's a great depression and if you must dance,
Dance for survival
Get off my continent, you fraud
And you dare call yourself a god!
Keep talking this way and I swear,
I'm gonna go tribal
It's a great depression
And if you must dance,
Dance for survival
Now I'm all settled to do my part –
Altamira, with a place for my art
From this point in time,
I can perceive the onset of a cycle
It's a great evolution
And if you must dance,
Dance for survival
Why is it not okay for me to feel this way?
You get mad everyday when my feelings I try to portray
What is it ? Can’t you meet me halfway!?
You are supossed to put your girl on display not hide her away!
Unimportant and unloved is how I feel
You have no right invalidating my feelings, for real
I can be the best woman and when treated right I am the real deal.
Let’s start this over and see what we can reveal.
Because at this point in time I have decided I’m done
You never want to be around me, and when you are you never have fun.
If I am your girl, I should be your number one
But once so much damage is done, it can’t be un-done.
I want to hold hands and laugh with you
But by the way you act it seems like we are through
I was a fool I couldn't take a clue
Cause actions speak louder than words, they really do!
Don't act like you don't see
the Red Flags flashing.
Don't deliberately ignore
the warning signs.
I know you want to be
with me,
but is it wise to deliberately
become emotionally blind,
to overlook the episode
unfolding
right before your eyes?
I'm flattered that you would
turn a blind eye.
But flattery is not a part
of my reality,
at this point in time.
You've created distorted visions
of you and I.
I'm not a relationship type
of guy,
maybe in another time
another place
you would be the perfect
design
to color my mind
with happiness.
But right now
don't act like you don't see
the Red Flags flashing.
Don't deliberately ignore
the warning signs.
I know you want to be
with me.
But is it wise
to act like you don't see
how messed up I am
at this point in time.
I am an emotional train wreck.
So please don't do
what most people do
when they want something
bad enough
turn a blind eye
to the Red Flags flashing.
I see Mr Trumps orders on the miltary..Who stood undaunted.
Throughout cov-idocy..! A little advice at this point in time.' I will
Offer i hope you don't mind..? It appears these people have
Inbuilt intuition.? Also grit determination and genuine vision.? Maybe they have not done (west-point?) That I do
Not know.' Yet their untapped qualitys; should be rightly
Directed.' Just my thoughts.?? Here I go.' each of these
Hero's are gold so to say.' would promote them up eash a rank
And in that way..Great milatary enrichment, will be achieved.' And upon
A scale of economy..That may well be hard to beleive?
Beyond like a dream
unfolding on this historic day
astronauts head skyward - heroes,
fools, call them what you may
The world watches in awe
its genesis where no man has been.
Strange land, a new beginning -
behold the lunar return to Eden
A cratered moon beckons,
this globe of reflected light -
Armstrong and Aldrin silently land,
Mike Collins considers his plight
Each man had their rituals
at this point in time.
Aldrin in silence broke the bread
and drank the holy wine
Now only bootprints remain
for some celestial traveller to find,
and a commemorative plaque that reads
“We came in peace for all mankind”
O’ moon, they walked over you -
revealed, you shine naked.
Your secrets exposed in the name of man...
Christ! Is nothing sacred?

It was a bit disturbing to look up from what I was doing and seeing my father standing right in front of me.
We simply stared into each other’s eyes without saying a word.
Somehow, I felt so old.
Somehow, he looked so young.
I am not sure what it was that I read in his eyes and his expression.
Was he being judgmental? Was he questioning the choices I had made with my life?
Or, was that the look of him being proud of the man I had become?
Was he trying to silently pass along his experiences and wisdom to me telepathically?
Or, was he simply content to be standing here next to one of his offspring?
The silence was growing awkward and I felt like I should say something … anything.
Then, I realized, just standing here next to my father at this point in time simply said it all. There was nothing else to add.
Staring at him, watching him stare at me, I couldn’t help keep a smile from appearing on my face. He responded back with that ****-eating grin that was uniquely my father.
I heard my wife calling from the bottom of the stairs, “Joe, if you don’t hurry we are going to be late.”
That is when I finished tying my tie and turned away from the bathroom mirror.
I could almost hear him say, “Goodbye, Pal”, as I slipped on his ring that my mother gave to me at his funeral.
As I walked down the stairs, Cindy looked up at me and laughed, “My God,” she said, “you look more and more like your father every day.”
I simply replied, “I know”, as I subtly wiped away the tear before it had a chance to escape my eye.
I miss you, Pal.
Australian Ancient Depths Of Time
Under deserts rusting tides of red
Mountains once collapsed themselves into the clay
Became flat lands stilted while sun hung ornate on the humble quiet
Beauty remained unobserved, unobstructed, ageless
At this point in time my team and I, consisting of two guides
Walked gently along soft earth near a simple gorge
Mules and archaeological tools fell through to darkness
Deep in the hole one man tumbled, crippled, died
The mules too met an ugly fate as well
My other man and I survived
Crawled for hours through a narrow passage in the underworld
In the labyrinth of black, accompanied by barely breathable air
Fear and hunger took hold
Our mental faculties began to fail
With no way out, we struggled on
By quirk or chance we happened on an open chamber
To stand, to glance, to reconnoiter an unknown civilization
Covered by time, embraced by centuries safe keeping
Thick vases found in sandy walls housed oils
I had matches and some rope to light our way at last
Other vases filled with beans and herbs unearthed by us
Treasures to save us from starvation!
Olive oils tasted nasty, black beans were worse
But Australia’s hidden depths were fascinating finds
We tied ropes around our new supplies, dragged them behind
The maze, the cave, gave us many bones and pottery for exploration
We hope the ancients will forgive us for eating all their food
I think they no longer need it in the tomb
