climate change

the rain makes me think about you
and how i miss who you used to be
it's dark and gloomy
perfectly mirroring how i feel now
i would've never seen you like this
you used to be so beautiful in my eyes
a sunset over the ocean
big bright stars in the night
a rainbow stretched through the sky
i never thought i'd see you as rain
you always put me in the best moods
a smile on my face in the darkest times
now you're the one taking away my peace
giving me even darker times
ones i didn't know existed
i genuinely never saw this coming
maybe from anyone else, sure
but never from you
we've always been inseparable
how much of it was a lie?
i can barely even stand to look at you now
without thinking of everything
do you think about it too?
when you look at me?
you'll now always be my rain
and i'm not sure i'm anything to you

The Butterfly Hunter

THE BUTTERFLY HUNTER
(Art by Carl Spitzweg)

"A butterfly I chanced to spy",
Resting blue on a branch nearby,
Another one stood its ally,
I chanced to spy a butterfly;

A small net, I had in my hand,
A cap on my head, my eyes scanned,
Seeing them, I began to fret,
I had in my hand a small net;

How to catch them, give me a hint,
My sun-reflecting glasses glint,
Each one looks like a huge blue gem,
Give me a hint how to catch them!

In astonishment, I do gaze,
With open mouth, am in a daze,
This small net is my punishment,
I do gaze in astonishment;

With wonder wings, towards the sky,
The giant blue butterflies fly,
In bright blue hue, there's orange rings,
Towards the sky with wonder wings;

I watch them go with heavy heart,
Their massive size gave me a start,
Or else, I'd have caught them, you know,
With heavy heart, I watch them go.

With ghost-like eyes, in evening sun,
I walk away, I'm not the one,
I'm no butterfly hunter, wise,
In evening sun with ghost-like eyes;

My trek thus far was just a waste,
No, I could never have them chased,
I am no hunter's avatar,
Was just a waste, my trek thus far.

Longing

Sitting hurts when your happy
Sickness aches when your stale
Stutters fall flat in the hail
Still, silence emerges the most scrappy

Never was one to take off
Noble and steadfast
Not once did I leave you cast off
And Now yet I’m the one who’s last

This feels like kismet
Though one with no fate
Your gave me to dark burden of hate
Then proclaimed that “this is what I get”

To you I’m a dark comedy
Funny but also sad
A beholder of tradgity and oddity
Only A guilty pleasure to be had

You see those voices on the screen
But I hear them at noon
Telling me I better start begging soon
Or else you’ll be gone with the leaves of green

And those leaves will burn
Then dissipate into a firey ash
The ash will grind as my lungs churn
And those lungs becoming the fire of my match

Grains of Time-Love Till Death-

I'll bid by time
Telling myself we'd grow old together
And that given just the right amount of time
We'd be inseparable & we will die together

I've loved you from my younger days
When I had all my life ahead of me
But even then I was eager to change my ways
Cause I wanted you for me

I've loved you from my mid twenties
When I was just another boy with a dream
Now we in our eighties
And I've achieved more than I could dream

For most of my dreams are my reality
One being waking up next to you
Been by your side for most of eternity
Always here to cherish and love you

I was sure I'd marry you
A befitting wedding for a queen
Cause I wanted it to mean something to you
Of how I can't put a number to what you mean to me

I bought my first house at that groove
Named the whole street after you
And made it grand like the Louvre
Cause in it houses my most important piece, that's you

Gave my life everyday for you
Worked hard for every sun
And every night I was there with you
Cause we'd make moments quiet fun

I've been through alot with you
Almost thought that we won't last
But I never for one day gave up on you
Cause for me you were always my first

My first woman that love felt right
The one who made me to the man I am
The one whom we've fought a good fight
Saddled up on my right arm

And even in our last days of this earth
All alone cause our kids have left the nest
I'd still want to walk with you on the path
Of love cause all the years we've shared, have been the best

Premium Member Know What You Want

Dear Youth, I know that many
of you are floundering.
The world is so uncertain now
and sometimes so unkind.

It was a simpler time
when I was in my youth,
yet still I went into life’s fray as if
I wore a blindfold on my eyes!
Things didn’t turn out terribly for me,
but I had dreams left unfulfilled.
Sometimes I think of those that I have missed.

Be true to who you are.
That is one thing that I’ve always tried to be.
It’s seen me through sorrows
and helped me more to enjoy my life.
But I would add to that at least this one more thing -
this final slice of my advice.
It’s one that no one really ever gave to ME:

Think long and hard about the things
you really truly want.
Focus on those things - or at the very least -
focus on the one thing you want most.
Once you know what you want,
imagine it, just really picture it, and then . . .
simply go for it!

Left

Sometimes I wonder where did the time go
Am I growing overall or just not knowing
I ask myself is it me, it must be something I'm not showing enough of. Enough love, understanding, empathy, feels like a motion picture woe despicable me got me thinking am I still seeking to win your heart am I still fishing for you, what about my actions do they really speak louder than my words, are you still blessed to have me, are you really the one I deserve. Am I still the one you wanna spend your last days with, should I question it at this point but then again why not is this just a pit stop. I got plenty of questions but will yours answers put those fears to rest, we want everything to be right but are you ready to come together humbly and find out why, when, & where we went left.

Premium Member Six Sisters of Fate

in the gloomy darkness, late, past sun set,
the six blood sisters of fate often met,
their venue the slumber of mortal minds,
in the depth of sleep when the reason's blind.
sister 'Doubt' is the one that started flare,
letting lose the bull amongst china ware,
her twin sister 'Jealous' took up the fight,
to disturb sleep and keep awake all night,
two of elder siblings have played their part,
Sisters 'Greed' and 'Lust' often problems start,
through the desires of body or of wealth,
they work in silence with a feline stealth.
The result on mind of their evil game,
human relationships are not the same,
the body fatigued wakes bereft of sleep,
'open door' to let sister 'Anger' sweep,
by early dawn mischief fuse has been lit,
an excuse at breakfast to throw a fit,
harsh words are exchanged and decency dies,
that's when walks in their oldest sister 'Lies'!
this family affair of sisters six,
for years have been for love marriages a jinx!
if you wish to guard your true love from them,
build your trust strong and let it be at helm,
don't let the evil sisters get in cheap....
- a calm peaceful mind earns you a deep sleep!

Backwoods Singer Saga

Singer, sing your people,
people don't know how to sing...
sing the old, sing the new,
for young and old to listen...

From times gone by,
so much land and so much sea...
 struggles that people is involved
or for hope galloping...

Singer if you're smart,
can even tell us a lot,
what's wrong and what's right
and the lords of star...

From fights and the affliction,
paddling in atrocious river
faced the all conflicts
taming the fierce evil...

don't be quiet, calm the fear
your pilgrimage singer,
tell us all the secrets,
do your "homily" well...

 punish all the bosses
quietly talk about the novel,
Singer...your voice commands,
you are the one who can save the people...!!

Premium Member Potbound

Coming out on the porch this morning after the sun had risen far above the horizon...I
noticed that my herbs looked wilted. Checked but not really dry just potbound or rootbound
in too small of a container..Life___how many of us are potbound or rootbound contained in a
container that we outgrew years ago___stuck, complacent not growing and soon will die from
starvation because we can't receive the nourishment from the source of our total being the
giver of life the One Who gives the Living Waters....In the next few days I will get larger
pots, fresh soil, and remove those plants..distrub their roots...Repot them giving their root
system room to grow..They will come out giving me fresh French Tarragon, and Lemon
Thyme all summer..I will enjoy watching them grow and produce....What about me? Will I
get out of the pot that is too small and grow?

Jealous Games

Jealous games

You walked in,
with those high heels...
and everyone,
watched you as you walked

Your little black dress,
fit you
oh so tight...
attention was what you got

You stared at me,
as the men came around...
you flirted... with one and all

Bridge 1
And all the guys, they fought,
hard just to get close... they fought to get close...

Chorus
Jealous games...
the one game you're so good at playing
Jealous games...
you know exactly how to play it,
play it...play it... play it

We met some,
forty years ago...
when we were both, oh so young

You told me you were,
looking for your one true love....
but, you left me feeling,
oh so numb...

You fell into...temptations trap...
and expected...
I would take you back

Brige 2
but, all I could see,
was my rainbows... exploding...rainbows exploding...

as you played

Chorus
Jealous games...
the one game you're so good at playing...
Jealous games...
you know exactly how to play it,
play it... play it... play it

I remember our time spent,
at half moon bay...
collecting seashells out on the beach

Listening to,
the music of Seals and Croft...
not knowing,
true love was out of reach

I was convinced,
you were the one for me...
I guess you never... agreed..

Bridge 3
So I threw away,
my rose colored glasses... my rose colored glasses

Chorus
Jealous games...
the one game you're so good at playing...
Jealous games...
you know exactly how to play it,
play it... play it... play it

repeat chorus fade
