Floating in the flash flood
of divesting dissonance pervasive,
I see a verdant valley carved out
within the entity of lonesome me,
drifting away with the desolate sigh,
displaced from the stratum of sound
of the converging cacophony loud.
I dream attached to the unanchored mind.
In the precinct of pristine sprawling thicket,
I wander on the curved contours of life,
as the spreading sunlight of prime promise
bursts with multihued magnificence
on the calm canopy with golden beams.
The leaves sparkle with spectrum of splendor,
create the converging shadow of silence,
where I get consumed by calmness.
In the embracing breeze rippling enticed,
the beguiled boughs dance in harmony,
make a mystique motif enwrapping me.
Within the light and shadow lattice,
with the sunray strands the foliage weaves
for me the tapestry of ecstasy.
It performs the kaleidoscopic show of joy
for my dreams to be embellished.
With the forlorn life lumbering
across the amber wanton wilderness,
I’ve to take a lone journey unknown.
From the cool cradle of the copse
I’ll garner the silhouetted grandeur
of its emerald sheen in the shadow.
In my mind I’ll strive to stow its opulence,
create in my pallid heart a jade meadow.
Walking the last mile of the journey
in the remaining hours of my day,
shimmering with the fading twilight blush,
I long for respite for the last time,
step into the waiting woods once again,
where the dying sunlight glows,
and see my dreams return enwrapped
within lengthening shadow of sunlit memory.
From the depths of my heart, a rhythm starts,
a symphony of words, a dance of art.
My pen, a conductor, leads the way,
across the parchment, a melody to sway.
Emotions surge, a vibrant hue,
on the canvas of my soul, they bloom anew.
Love's gentle whispers, pain's piercing sting,
a tapestry of life, my heart does sing.
Each stroke a brushstroke, each word a note,
a symphony of feelings, from my soul it wrote.
My joy, my fear, my longing deep,
a mirrored reflection, secrets I keep.
My words, like doves, take flight and soar,
carrying the stories I hold at my core.
Into the world, they journey free,
a whispered echo of the soul in me.
With every line, a universe unfolds,
of memories painted, stories untold.
From the depths of my being, they take their form,
a symphony of words, weathering every storm.
Let your heart listen, let your spirit soar,
within my art, the truth you'll explore.
Find solace in the rhythm, the melody's grace,
and feel the symphony of my soul embrace.
In the stillness of a soft-lit room,
where whispers dance like fireflies,
our breaths entwine,
the air thick with unspoken thrill,
a tender hesitation lingers
before skin meets skin,
warmth igniting in quiet anticipation.
Fingers, fumbling yet eager,
trace the curves of new terrain,
a map yet to be explored,
charted by timid hands,
nervous laughter bubbling
like wine between us,
each sip a step deeper into the unknown.
Eyes meet—
the world fades,
a universe exists in that gaze,
full of promise,
where we dare to dive,
into depths both exhilarating and uncharted,
the pulse of heartbeats syncs,
a rhythm of two emerging souls.
The rush of sensations pulls us closer,
as if gravity itself has surrendered,
lost in the sway of our bodies,
each movement a declaration,
a symphony composed
in the language of sighs and gasps,
the crescendo building,
sweeping us away on waves of discovery.
Time dissolves,
and we are sculptors of this moment,
carving intimacy in the softest of whispers,
embracing the blush of inexperience,
the electric spark of skin on skin,
a mosaic of unfiltered delight,
a tapestry woven in daring trust.
With each breath drawn,
we break barriers,
the first time—a memory etched,
etched with laughter and a shaky cadence,
reminding us both
that every beginning holds magic,
and tonight,
beneath the muted glow of moonlight,
we are no longer just us,
but the promise of every possibility unfolding.
The undreaming eyes close
The veiled vision darkens
Like the twilight sky smeared by the drizzle of night
From the realm of stars on the kaleidoscopic panorama
That floats like butterfly so close yet so far
As the glimmering motif of astral existence
Giving at each passing moment
Your life a sense of purpose and faith
Your mind carries to people in need
Their visionless eyes don’t see.
The drowsy eyes close
The distant dreams appear
Like flowers blooming from unfurled buds
Make a bouquet of colored expectations
Not yet withered in the grip of harsh reality
Designs the tapestry of crafted existence
That glows in the lingering light of hope
Your mind transmits to people in the dark
Their unclosed eyes don’t see.
The still eyes close
The time stops to flow
Like a river frozen in the winter of your life
Where the melded past and future slide together
Away from the present congealed as stilled moments
Waiting for the time to melt and flow again
From the chromatic horizon of new dawn of your life
When your closed eyes would open
You will see people near in the sunshine
Their arms stretched to embrace you.
If ever you open your eyes.

A kind gentle soul
Now a hundred years old
Who for years put her
Dreams all on hold
Giving her all
As a Mother, and Wife
Oh! What a beautiful life
A Daughter like Father
Living life as he taught her
Her touch making
Everything bright
Counting her blessings
Regardless of hardships
Thanking the Lord for her life
A lady of beauty
A lady of grace
Giving to everyone
Gardens of tulips and poetry
And pounds of fudge to go round
A Daughter like Father
Living life as he taught her
This lady of beauty and grace
Her life like a poem on a tapestry
Oh! how proud
Her Father would be
And I...I rejoice
For the century of wisdom
This lady has given to me.
Happy Birthday, dear Joyce
Author: Elaine Cecelia George
Beneath the willow's aged, gnarled embrace,
My lover sits in tranquil reverie,
A boy whose presence paints the tranquil space,
With dreams that dance like leaves upon the sea.
His eyes, like stars, illuminate the night,
As moonbeams weave a tapestry of grace,
His laughter, like a melody in flight,
Enchants the breeze, a soft and sweet embrace.
The willow weeps with tendrils long and wise,
Its branches cradle secrets that we share,
A sanctuary where our love defies
The passing seasons, lingering in the air.
Oh, how I think of him, my heart's own guide,
Beneath that aged willow, side by side.
Inspired by The Lady of Shalott by John William Waterhouse
Dear Lady of Shalott, I gaze at thee,
and beauties before me, I count three
in your time and place, remote.
First, the beauty of nature’s scheme
and lush expanse of a wild stream.
You’re lost in some sad river dream,
on your little boat.
And, yes, this gorgeous tapestry,
and candles to guide you as you flee,
whilst you stay afloat.
Most of all your flowing hair,
flowing gown and worried stare
upon a face so mild and fair,
as you sit upon your boat.
Who has brought you pain and concern?
Does someone cause your heart to yearn
where you sit and float?
Were you made sad by prince or knight?
Did the painter paint your plight?
Milady, I beg you with this poem I write,
take me on your boat.
What Should I Seek
Kevin Davis 2024
Seek to learn what makes you feel kindness and love,
A gentle whisper from the heavens above.
In the smallest gestures, in the warmest embrace,
In the light that shines from a smiling face.
It’s in every hand that reaches out in need,
And in the selfless act, in the most noble deed.
It’s in the words that heal, the hearts that care,
In the silent prayers, in the moments we share.
Kindness is the bridge that connects us all,
Love is the answer, no matter how small.
Together we all should weave a tapestry bright,
Guiding us through the darkest night.
So let your heart be open, let your spirit be free,
Spread kindness and love, like the waves of the sea.
For in giving, we find the true meaning of life,
In kindness and love, we conquer all strife.
So, fill your life with a bright smiling face,
Open your heart and arms to those who need an embrace.
Never listen to anyone who speaks only hatred and vile,
For this will never offer anything to make you smile.
Everyone needs something to make them whole,
Love and kindness you will feel deep in your soul.
So, turn away from anyone who makes you distraught,
Hold on to your values the way you were taught.
In the darkest recesses of my mind
a maelstrom brews, a tempest unseen
epilepsy's insidious tendrils weave
a tapestry of chaos, thoughts ensnared
Every step a battle, every task a test
concentration's flame flickers, threatened
by the relentless onslaught of seizures' might
a never-ending siege, exhausting the light
I strain to articulate the anguish I bear
but words falter, inadequate to convey
the weight of judgment, the sting of disdain
a cruel ruse, a heartless refrain
Invisible, unseen, my pain is dismissed
a silent scream, a desperate plea
no licenses granted, no respite to claim
condemned to isolation's desolate plain
The world outside is deaf to my plight
blind to the torment that ravages my night
they judge with haste, from ignorance' dark well
oblivious to the silent wars I wage and quell
Medication's chains bind me, a prisoner of fate
a life sentence, day and endless night
side effects a constant, draining toll
a soul weighed down, a heart that's lost its role
In this labyrinthine mind, I search for peace
a refuge from the turmoil, a solace to release
epilepsy's indelible mark, a scar that remains
a solitary journey, punctuated by fleeting rays
Yet, in the darkness, a spark of hope appears
a community of warriors, united in tears
we share our stories, our struggles, our plight
together we rise, through the darkest of nights
In embracing my epilepsy, I find my strength
no longer ashamed, I'll rise, I'll length
for in my uniqueness, my power resides
an epileptic warrior, with dignity, with pride
In realms before our earthly dawn,
Where souls were but a whispered song,
A realm unseen, yet deeply known,
The place we were before we shone.
Beyond the bounds of time and space,
Where spirits danced in perfect grace,
A tapestry of dreams unfurled,
In that celestial, ancient world.
No bounds confined, no chains held tight,
Just pure existence, purest light,
A symphony of endless hues,
Where souls embraced, love's gentle muse.
No bodies weighed by earthly clay,
No worries plagued our endless stay,
Just ethereal whispers, soft and sweet,
In that realm of pre-birth retreat.
Oh, how we long for glimpses rare,
Of that celestial love affair,
A memory faint, but deep within,
The place where life did first begin.
Yet now we wander on this earth,
To live and learn, to strive and birth,
But deep inside, we still recall,
The place we were before our fall.
So let us cherish, as we roam,
The echoes of our pre-life home,
For in our hearts, that sacred space,
Shall guide us with its boundless grace.
