We raised our sights in the autumn season,
brilliant and vivacious shades, full of life.
Vivid crimson, scarlet, rust, and yellow rife,
The maple trees in the grove praised the region.

Getting a clear grasp of the near atmosphere,
hear the stones beneath our feet squish and shift.
Consider the dust piles that our shoes drift,
Feel the brisk breeze tickling our hair, yet each spear.

The autumn leaves on the trees had fallen,
During the seasons, I am lured by the radiant sight.
The harvest was plentiful, a summer delight,
Pumpkins, squash, and yams were then sullen.

Birds expecting winter fly over a deep blue sky,
For the rest of the fall, the butterfly urges you to stay.
Bonfires and ethereal smoke swamped the air
and piney fragrance with a dash of seasonal flair.

Pause, sight, the river flanked by a large stone,
toward green and withering vetch stalks.
Stay close to increasing beating whacks,
Azure Creek has a gentle, placid tone.

Squirrels brace for fall by saving nuts and seeds,
They relish crisp fall days but dread winters.
and spread an abundance of lusty splinters.
Come jog with me, which allows clean air to renew yields.

Narrow mind, struggling to join all the dots
Thus missing out on the larger picture
Spiralling about in ego thought slots

Mind body, feeble soul caricature
An instrument to navigate earth life
Why then allow, it to be our teacher

Immersed here, in world of struggle and strife
We find ourselves swamped in limitation
Feeling each pain, cutting heart with a knife

Freedom in this simple recognition
That we are not limited mind body
This simple truth, known in meditation

Negating thus, feral thought forms shoddy
We bring head and heart into alignment
Feeling bliss throb within, slow and steady

Seek not, oh hermit, any attainment
Vaporise ego; rest in contentment

Typhoon Entombed Them

Death met at work, a months' long livestock voyage
Appalling fate found forty men in ocean's contempt
Churned in days' worth of typhoon crazed torment
Upside down violence turned trapped crew to carnage

Water walled onslaught slammed seafaring stronghold
Cattle float stark on dark ocean, hooves raised, bloated
Vets embarked the journey, to bovine well-being devoted
Vessel of mass measures, by sea vehemence controlled

Taken from life during a shift, loyal young strong sailors
Skilled handlers, pined for infant families, scared at home
Mammoth stern dug beneath unending depth, groaned
Instruments steady didn't warn of ceilings spray showers

Tenacity kept crew clutching straws in relentless storm
Hull refused her duty, rising cold belly swamped within
Dutiful men tended soiled stock, their outlook grim
Windows disguised skywards, horizon stolen in scorn

Deck gave only feasible exit point, though death due either way
Going under or leaping off, bodies driven on stiff vein adrenalin
Forty faithful crew, prisoners in their workplace, remember them
Ninety children learn that dire time leaves their lives in disarray

Good Wife

HEART OF A GOOD WIFE:

Don't ever nag that she grew wild,
I'm blunt to say this,so be assured.
And no more can you treat her bad.
Absolutely, she's now matured.
Frankly, she possess all the qualities,
That filled your home with tranquillity.
All your friends cherishes her might.
They obviously wish for her kind.
Yet,you kept handling her without care,
And what made you cheat on her?
Perhaps, you thought she wasn't aware,
As you're been swamped by an affair,
With those filthy promiscuous women,
Who ruins the peace of married men.

So never accept to say she changed,
Because you really made her enraged.
She's always a good woman in your life,
Who supports you as a noble wife.
But you caused her life to be fouled,
By decaying those words you vowed,
On the ceremonial day of your union.
Thank God she's spiritually moving on.
Though, you failed to fence her with love,
In order for both of you to be sound.
She intervenes for you with prayers,
For you to succeed in your line of work.
But you made her feel very despaired,
Without trying hard to put her first.

Now that she'd left and is happy in life,
She still pray for you every night.
But you sit all day lamenting sadly,
Over those wreckers acts of insanity.
Your businesses have totally collapsed,
And your individuality has relapsed,
Thence you struggle hard to survive,
As the one who holds you down is gone.
Therefore you wish to clear all your wrongs,
So you're tirelessly asking her to come back.
Just to get yourself right on track...
But it's fine you're turning a new page,
To reform your union with new phase.

Wishing you the best of luck....I'm out!

A Promise That Dwindles With Time

Politicians will do anything to get elected on this coming November second:
from fierce attacks on integrity, sensitivity, character and morality...
and lie they will to win at the polls, promising all streets of glittering gold;
good folks, before you choose those candidates, be aware of reality.

Every media is swamped with ads with messages that convicinvigly say,
" I approve of this message." Should we endorse and trust them?
The Mayor wants to be the Governor, and the Governor President...
anyone can run for any of these prestigious offices on that lucky day.

In their vibrant words truly convincing...all you hear is changes for the better:
less taxes, more jobs, drug-free streets, pristine cities and minimal crime,
but how can they afford all these expenses, if not on the hard-working tax-payer?
If they constantly swear: their promise is a promise that dwindles with time.

A dazzling blaze sews magic on warm eyes.
Hurdles were solved, and secret vows were heard.
I won't steer the yarns while holy denies.
My cheers are shorn, and my heart is averred.
All musings are being wrecked with a sword.
Bumptious, you believe, life tricks may apply.
So shut your eyes and bear yourself a few dries.
Earth life has an aim, yet we trust God's may.

You've swayed me; you hand a heavenly prize.
The stinks of anguish seep from veins and blood.
Astute thrives, teaching groups of soul and rise.
Bunk time dawdled on, yet death stalled ahead.
At which wayward tears of memory scoured.
Once the grave prodding heads him to comply,
How pointless would it be if no one believes?
Earth life has an aim, yet we trust God's may.

My inward beasts are swamped forward to seize.
I'm battling, yet my dense wheezes are heard.
We've pleaded with God for such a glimpse guise.
Too long, psyche harm has been our swear word.
Is it taut to earn a clear slant on the board?
Where has our keen the past sunk to decay?
Is it tough to grab a clear view of ties?
Earth life has an aim, yet we trust God's may.

This deep yearning proves that there is inbred.
Believe that God is love concealed in the sky.
Coldness and loneliness on a stark sled,
Earth life has an aim, yet we trust God's may.

My Raven

I opened my heart
Where lies my brook?
Where are thou my Raven?
Our land is in FAMINE
Almost like that of the Israelites
I cried with millions
Wept for an ailing nation
Tubers of yam makes us yawn
Tomatoes puts us all in comatose
Bag of rice in crises
Garri soaking becomes a trend
I longed
I craved
For my Raven's miracle

I opened my heart again
Where lies my brook?
Where are thou my Raven
Raven miracle I seek
Elijah was treated to a royalty by Raven
Fetching him balance diet daily even in famine
He then drinks in a special brooks
Why not me God!!! I want my Raven miracle

Raven!!! Elijah's Raven
Raven !!! My own Raven
The creature with a shiny black feathers
Weird, mythical ...scary yet emit miracle
Smart, evil in disguise ... smells dark omen
Yet fetched Elijah three square meal
Largest in the crow family of birds

I opened again but not my heart
This time it is my mouth of hunger
Where lies my brook?
Where are thou my Raven?
 Raven miracle I seek
My voice became stronger for Him to hear
He is my shepherd I shall not want
Even as young lions lack
And suffers hunger in anger
I shouted" I shall not want"
I receive by faith the word
And I started chewing
Pretending to be an Elijah
Behold, food was on my table
I found myself devouring chicken in full
On a table full of varieties of food to maw
But no one else was eating
They all looked hungry and fagged out
I got a disdainful eyeing...
I heard them hissing profusely
Yes, it was like that table prepared before David
The same table God prepared before his enemy
I got their message
They weren't my friends
But there was more to go round
Why become selfish ...greedy
I beckoned to them without uttering a word
They swamped on me ... on the food
Then, someone tapped me on a long chair
Those bed-bug infested chairs ...
" Brother Stephen... why are you snoring?
We are through with the service
Remember that fasting continues tomorrow
And bring along your Prophet offerings
The Lord be with you"
The white-bearded man bid me bye
My mouth was still ajar
Finding expression for my thought

“I am not the body, nor is the body my possession—
I am Awareness itself.”

One who realizes this for certain
has no memory of things done or left undone.
There is only the Absolute.”

We now enter still waters deep
Rejecting all knowledge we so far chose to keep

The reason we invariably tend to self destruct
Is owing to sole dependence upon the mind body construct

Whilst we are endowed with the power of discrimination
We choose to be blind to reality being caught up in stagnation

Though knowing that in this world of duality everything has polarity
Only the few detached rotate images viewing their sphericality

Simply stated to exit the evident confinement
We need to bring about inner alignment

In thought & word & deed
Employing the mind-body as our steed

First we must recognise the coordinates of reference
Before plotting path of preference

Let us then begin by taking the opposing view
That the mind body is the all with thought senses & sinews

We immediately see that it is a cage bound in narrowness and limitation
Our divine connection through conscience promising boundless bliss & elation

Seeing this polarity we have on one hand the external ephemeral
And on the other the unknown but seemingly limitless internal eternal

We know we are awareness independent of senses and thought
But we are now swamped by fears & desires all ego begot

Our dilemma then akin to a drug addict
In denial of truth even if succinct

Awareness survives death of bodily form
As does Divine Love felt within as magnetism warm

The truth then clear yet the realisation elusive
For as long as we dwell in symbols and illusions allusive

No sooner we choose to internalise our consciousness
We reclaim our freedom as formless awareness

All we need to do is to use our free will
To exit delusion by keeping our attention still

Allowing our cup of joy to overspill

My Wife the Paper Shredder

Buried in an avalanche you
might see on "Hoarders buried alive"

white sheet with limited pay per view,
nonetheless sky scraping heap

before profound love chanced to hint
