Premium Member 'twas the Night Before Christmas

‘Twas the night before Christmas, I was almost asleep
The house was so quiet, you could not hear a peep
I woke from a loud crash and a knock at the door
It must be my late delivery from the corner store

To my surprise St. Nicholas was standing there
His eyes red and smelling of bourbon and beer
I asked what he was doing here this time of night
He said he crashed his sleigh in a drunken flight

His reindeer were fine but passed out in the snow
He still had some gifts to deliver before tomorrow
He begged for my help to deliver all the kids' gifts
I said yes, I can load up my rogue and give him a lift

We set out in my rogue packed full of Christmas gifts
We delivered them all, no children were left on the list
Thanking me for my kindness and generous Christmas spirit
He gave me a gift of a gold key with a huge ruby carat

He said I was now a secret member of the north pole
And I could use my ruby key any time I wanted to go, but
I could not tell his wife what he did to his reindeer and sleigh
I told him I would never breathe a word of this secretive day

He was ready to leave in his fixed sleigh with his reindeer in tow
He thanked me again, said he had to go as it was starting to snow
He said he really needs to stop with the liquid holiday cheer
But still decided to leave while drinking a few holiday beers

Premium Member Trembles and Thrills Santa Is Here

Somewhere out there
The world is all in slumber
Prayers have been said
Tears have been shed
Where people care waiting for a miracle

Sitting in the window seat
Cozy and warm by the fireplace
I listening to the soft crackling sound
Of golden amber fire

Waiting and looking out the window at the falling snow
Impatiently watching the cloud migrate slowly across the sky
A hidden moon back-lit a large cloud, fringing it with silver
Thrill waiting so long as patience can endure, a lifetime it seems

A soft whine and nudge with a cold wet nose to my face
Startling me to wake with a fright
With the hair on the back of my neck standing upright
As I tremble and brace myself with unutterable shock

Curiosity impelled me to move forward
Drawing nearer made me gasped
With trembles and thrills
Gazing upon shadows movement and the sounds of crunching

Near the fireplace in a high wing-back chair
Sat Old Saint Nicholas holding a cup of hot cocoa
Snacking on the cookies I had left
Listening to the music play “Jolly Old St. Nicholas”

Silent Night

Silent night, Holy night, all is calm, all is bright, in these hallways walked up and down by GODS children here to live out their golden years, yet all of them are often alone..

Silent night, Holy night, no family around, just the sound of the tv, staff assigned to them helping them with daily needs, that were once no problems.. yet they are never alone, for Our Heavenly Father is right beside them all.

Silent night, Holy night, Xmas songs, stockings hung on their doors, hope of St Nicholas will knock on their door, bringing heavenly Cheer, a smile across their face..

Silent Night, Holy Night, Lucille, we are here to bring you Gods love, through a Xmas plant, you are a wonderful mom of four healthy boys, you smile and greet each resident at lunch, breakfast, dinner, we are all here to bring Xmas cheer, Vitality Living is full of Christmas blessings.

Silent Night, Holy Night, as the day draws to a close, may you all know of Gods love, blessings from your family’s, though they can’t be with you in person, just as Mary giveth birth to a baby named Jesus, He is right beside your beds each and every night, rest easy Gods Children, for tomorrow is another day..

Silent Night, Holy Night, sleep in heavenly peace, look up to the sky for the star of Jeruselm , Jesus Lord of thy birth..

Premium Member Eve of Christmas

Twas the night
before Christmas when
I left the house For
some last minute
shopping I was
cutting it close So
off I went into the
cold night air In a
short while the mall
did appear

I saw kids playing on
their sleds When they
should have been
sleeping in their
beds The first store
I went to was the Gap
I made my purchase
and was off in a
flash On the drive
home I needed no map
Cause my garmin was
sitting on the dash

Then in the distance
I saw something glow
Flying through the
sky and over the snow
When it rounded the
corner and landed in
the clear I saw Mr.
Claus and all his
reindeer

Then upon the roof
St nicholas flew And
he shimmied down the
chimney in a minute
or two Then he put
the presents under
the tree And up
through the chimney
he went with glee

Upon the roof he
paused for awhile And
with a wink and a
smile He was off into
the night Bringing
joy to many that was
his delight
And then I heard him
say to the poets on
this site
Merry Christmas to
all , and to all a
good write!

Christmas Trees

They sparkle and glisten, making an average tree great,
With reds, blues, and yellows, and decorations first rate.

Some have all white lights, which look pretty classy,
And others are color lights, which some say are tacky.

I love them all, for they represent Christmas,
Something pretty to look at, while we wait for St. Nicholas.

At the top you will find, an angel or star,
Like a message from heaven, watching down from afar.

As we near the big day, under the tree starts to fill,
With presents galore, I still find it a thrill.

When the day finally comes, the Christmas tree's job is done,
It protected our secrets, and wrapped presents bar none.

We take down the decorations, and save them for next year,
When we will wish you good tidings, and more Christmas cheer.

Premium Member What I Want For Christmas- -

Truth be told
I no longer want deaths and wars
Come part the horizon, Jesus
Christ come now to receive us

If there were a Santa I want only just to know his true origin
What I want for Christmas, love and freedom

Twas just a mist, history insist
The Legend of St. Nicholas
Give me thoughts of prayers
To pray for my fellow humans

If there were a Santa I want only just to know his true origin
What I want for Christmas, is for Jesus to come down

Lo O’ fourth-century bishop
Monk named St. Nicholas
Born sometime around 280 A.D.
In Patara, near Myra in modern-day Turkey

If there were a Santa I want only just to know his true origin
What I want for Christmas is for Saint Nicholas to pray with me
Admired for his piety and kindness,
Of many legends called also Father Christmas
You can meet Santa Claus cross the magical Arctic Circle
In Rovaniemi in Lapland, Finland official
You see if there be a Santa, all I want from him
Is to pray for me, for Christ to grant me longevity of life…
Now what do you want for Christmas in this life

Premium Member I Know I Saw Him

Stepping through the pine and holly wreathed front
entrance of the homeless shelter,
as a Christmas Eve snowfall decorated the city,
I carried a fresh turkey,
I heard joyous singing of adults and children as
the warmth of the lobby with a splendid bright
Christmas tree filled my spirit.
There was also the voice of a baritone man
with such a generous hearty laugh.
I became momentarily distracted by a t.v.
on low volume playing the vintage animated
"Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer" movie.

When suddenly a scent of peppermint and
nutmeg delighted my nose,
a flash of antique-red and faux fur white trim
with a long curly snow-white beard swirled
that sparkled with ice crystals.
There was a thumping on the roof,
and a resounding jingle of many bells.

I felt Christmases of long ago were here again,
a six year old me meticulously placing decorated
sugar snowmen cookies and hot cocoa by the
burning fireplace for St. Nicholas to pause and
enjoy,
I was soon asleep after laying down in my bed.
I know I just saw him there at the shelter,
the children weren't sleepy that Christmas Eve,
there appeared so many presents under the tree,
as their parents drank coffee finishing up servings
of pumpkin pie topped with whipped cream.

We can see Santa Claus year-round in so many
people,
you can feel him in someone's hug,
in the benevolence of family, friends, and
some strangers.
In giving of time or charity in food, money,
an embrace,
someone comforting you,
a pet cuddling you,
I know I saw him,
and so do many of you-
in the Christ Child we have peace. ~

 Jolly Old St. Nicholas

Ho! Ho! Ho!
Candy Canes and Christmas Cheer
With a fuss, children line up, and wait to get near
To look deep into Jolly Old St. Nicholas eyes
Quietly, and from the depths of their hearts
They sit on his lap and whisper in his ear
Their favorite toy they want for Christmas

Ho! Ho! Ho!
Candy Canes and Christmas Cheer
Overjoyed with great big dreams and hope
Children sigh, Please, Jolly Old St. Nicholas
Are the elves focus and hard at work
Working around the clock
We've been very good this year

Ho! Ho! Ho!
Candy Canes and Christmas Cheer
Through the eyes of children goodness
Jolly Old St. Nicholas a giver of gifts
Keeping the spirit of Christmas alive
For some a trust of faith and a symbol of hope
For others joy, Christmas trees, and toys

Ho! Ho! Ho!
Candy Canes and Christmas Cheer
Wise Jolly Old St. Nicholas is on his way here

Premium Member Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Choirs of children singing gleefully
Hand bells and ‘Silver Bells’ ringing
Red holly and mistletoe ‘Deck the Halls’
In preparation for Christmas morning
Snowflakes teasing a ‘White Christmas’
Traditions followed and being made
Midnight Mass along with hugs and kisses
Angelic ‘Silent Night’ throughout the land
Solemn celebration of the birth of Jesus

Children productions of nativity watched
All praying for peace on earth and good will
Ritual reading of ‘Jolly Old St. Nicholas’ to those
Only staying awake from excitement and thrill
Listening for Santa's reindeer landing on roof
Smiling parents leave cookie crumbs as proof

Premium Member Twas the Night Before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house floor
the mice do play. The cat is wise and starts to chase, this is war.
The mice very nimble and fast invade the cabinets and drawers.
Into the stockings that hung on the fireplace, set their teeth there.
Burrowing holes through the stockings all you could see were their
long tails. Through the bottom they wiggle their nose on those
cute little faces. The cat chases-them-all- up through the enclose
chimney as St. Nicholas shimmed down. There was a loud howled
OW! In agony as mice snapped at St. Nicholas backside as he scowled.

Children snug in their beds heard a cry of pain from down stairs.
They sprang from their beds and ran to see strewn chairs, teddy bears
and St. Nicholas flat on his back as mice made a dash into his bag of toys.
The cat quick on his feet chase the mice making dreadful noise;
up the Christmas tree crashing it down, breaking ornaments, and toys.

Weaving through furniture, knocking over lamps, and around
St. Nicholas trampled cookies and milk. The noise settles down
and the children help St. Nicholas, bandage his injured backside.
When out on the lawn there arouse such a clatter, the reindeer guide
was yelling, hurry St. Nicholas were running late, get on and ride.

St. Nicholas, he did whistle, and as loud as he could,
and call them by name while side by side they stood;
"Now, DASHER! Now, DANCER! Now, PRANCER, and VIXEN!
On, COMET! On CUPID! On, DONNER and BLITZEN!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"

St. Nicholas did pout and squall.
Sure, would love some Ole buttermilk,
I didn't get my cookies and milk."
