Our ritual tree for transcendence doth aspire
A garnished trinket our crest will require
A fabricated mold with polished attire
A gleaming sentinel; a burnished squire
A sacral vestement on evergreen spire
With gilded insignia from divine shire
An angelic emanation descended from heavenly choir
Who heralds glad tidings on his mercantile Lire
A pure relic cleansing an organic sire
Mercurial splendor crowning an earthen pyre
O'er residual chaff rises an immortal signifier
A glorious diadem; a pious magnifier
From bequeathed penury; heart of penitent friar
Spiritual token vaunting our prayers higher
Awe & shock bowlers in the dock our warlock & glock “the judge”
Rapscallion and stallion wrangling with dangling golden medallion
Facing the pacing battalion on our latest sinking Caribbean galleon
Our burly oracle with each follicle so curly a rock that won't budge
In that 90’s dungeon Robin our classy curmudgeon brassy bludgeon
Truncheon fine dining on a hurly burly Courtenay & Curtly luncheon
Calms alarms and qualms delivers us from harm with stoic heroic psalms
Call to arms more like baobabs than palms those offside charms “the Judge”
Speedsters scary & lairy others wary prime time for our hairy chest fairy
Robin our pace Pontiff willow ace not a whiff or a riff or sniff of what if
Believers in his jobbing levers will go biff in any tiff that's the pith of Smith
Not just a county squire but quite possibly the ultimate Hampshire Sire
Calling card hit it so hard earned the fable label of both BATman & Robin
Hall of fame name can’t smudge hats doff to a complete one off “the Judge”
Tattoo Belly is coming, the army whispered, clearly disturbed by the idea
Yet excited too, for we had heard how many heads he loped off in the last war.
I looked for my trust squire. Her face was as long as her name, Potawatameah
Can you do anything about him? I mouthed. She bit her apple to the core.
Chewed rapidly, but did not commit in front of the well-armed others.
I watched her spit out the seeds, and then she took off in an elongated run.
I knew she was pondering whether or not to return with her brothers.
If they came back with her, this devilish monster ogre would not have as much fun.
Do you think she can help? Another quivering, scared-looking young recruit asked me.
A loud roar happened at the front, and we heard it way down on this side of the line.
Not sure yet, I responded. Calm down, young buck, let us just wait and see.
Then Tattoo Belly came over the hill carrying a jagged sword, all terrible and fine.
I nearly swallowed my dentures, he was a sight that turned my blood instantly cold.
I figured it is because this is my seventy-second year, and I am getting kind of stiff and old.
Heads started flying this way and that, flicked off by the edge of his terrible blade.
When another roar happened, from deep within the dark verdant green glade.
The earth began shaking, as if elephants were stampeding closely to the battle.
I heard a roar that sounded like it came from the disengaged head of some cattle.
Potawatameah came racing over the hill with her brothers, giants with pure ferocity.
One picked up Tattoo Belly, and ate him in one gulp, and boy, did his army flee!
There is a Mr. Fix It
That lives on my street
If you want to call him
You should have done so last week
Because he is always busy;
But you can call him on the phone
His X will answer for him
This is Rent-A-X but he's gone
How may my X help you
You know I was married to a squire
He can repair anything
With duct tape for he aspires
To run a super business
Where the calls come pouring in
Then he can hire many people
And he will just sleep till ten
Just last week a new pool
He did put in his front yard
Placed a table in it, ladened
With grand buffet of food
With an extension cord on float
To a tv in a sinking boat
He and all his buddies
Could watch tv and tell jokes
When the extension was inserted
In the plug-in in the house
It tripped the power breakers
Now everything is quiet as a mouse
Form:
I am in all a moderate man, a noted country gentleman'
with all the accoutrements, a house, a farm and gout.
My politics are not extreme, I'm reasonably devout.
I have my peccadillos but they barely warrant mention.
To hide my light beneath a bushel I've never felt an urge.
In one particular virtue I feel a measure of pride.
Judge after I have put my case if I'm not justified.
Temperance is my virtue. I draw back from the verge.
Excess I shun as ‘twere the pox. Revels I'll have none,
for eating much and drinking much are folly's requisite.
At the vicarage and the manor I am noted for my wit.
No local scandals I invite. London's there for fun.
Here on my farm, my little world, there reigns a blissful peace.
Bumpkins and commoners alike still hail me as the Squire.
Come end of day, I'll sip my port, roast chestnuts by the fire.
Was that the braying of an ass or the cackle of my geese?
When Walpole steered the ship of state how happily we plied!
No foreign broils or riotous mobs then then sapped the nation's wealth.
Complacent Whigs and good King George sustained our common heath,
but now dark clouds have gathered and adverse is the tide.
I thank my Maker day by day for being richly blessed,
yet feel no little pang and twinge when I think upon the poor.
Much more could be done for them, of that I am quite sure.
To help me get to sleep at night a jug of stout is best.
In days done by I did aspire to turn men's hearts to good.
So great the world and I so small, unequal to the task.
Should risking all have aught effect? respectfully I ask
and thereby serve the greater world ? I don't see how it could.

AFTER THE STORM
Babes and birds breath a prayer wish
upon gush of silky soppy swift swish.
Merciful Zion must have heard
for sometime the bleeding sky trot.
A mile long grin peeps on vertured hills
as prismatic shades speak as petals swells.
Imprisoned now the storm in rainbow's chest
as sun enfolds the shadows in zest.
Across blue blooded ocean's breeze,
jolly handsome feathers finally find the mist
on bells bright blooming feast--
no longer bent or shadow kissed.
Dimpled cheeks unfurl as dusk arise
longing rest after a turbulent surprise.
Sedulous moon and stars squire a light
pageant-like prance for a night delight.
Amidst heartstrings spelled dreams
cotton strums from a guitar rang in stream
Accompanied by rhymes from lapping waves
sweet [oh, sweet], scars are healed
Cuddled safe and secure
the little girl snore in twinkling tunes.
A dimpled cheek smile
as she slumbers a long long while.

Faithful squire love poet deep verve
Formidable poetic glow universal friend stars
Loving heart poetess amiable sincere friendship.
The opportunity sparked a fierce desire
A cunning liar is trying to conspire
Plotting schemes that would require
Causing the masses tears to flood the mire
The choir sang with voices higher
Looking for a bold lady or noble squire
Capable of mending our old attire
Bake these words in an air fryer
The hissing revealed a situation growing dire
Look a devious flyer is soaring above the spire
Falsely proclaiming tales to inspire
Hiding in the quagmire as an actual occupier
Their words thickening the air like a humidifier
The supplier is attempting rewire
All of us who dare to still inquire
An amplifier’s hum drew the self-proclaimed sire
Who foolishly gazed at stars with his heart’s desire
Each promise made proved to be a modifier
The identifier called it out as a testifier
Through it all the proclamations became slier
We need to rise above the snake oil salesmen’s ire
Buckle up and find the strength not to retire
Find the heart to not back down or tire
The pedestrian kettle steams on to the Capitol pyre
With a weight watcher tonic; more lean legislators to sire
The Grand Old Party a taste of the aromatic brew doth require
Medicinal tonic blended to alleviate bloating gout of every Democratic squire
Preferring their watered-down, generic brand, constipated digestive tracts go haywire
The savy financiers sit on the sidelines in their cozy markets ignoring the taste test flier
The partisan grit clogs the filter producing a quagmire
The vitriolic ingredients boil over causing a rancid fire
The billowing smoke rises and streams to the patrician choir
The generic master brewer in his white house stews in the demagogic mire
Commercial winds sweep in fanning the flames causing the heat to reach dome's spire
The regurgitated grounds spewed forth to every intoxicated shire
Democratic gainsayers scare the elderly that the side effects are so dire
The rest of the squeamish plebians in their depleted hovels continue to sip their Common Roast with ire
