Because you were so kind to me
For you I’ll play this melody
All These wishes
I demanded you to be
As I reached for stars
only I could see
Now your whispers
Are so vague and clear
How I selfishly
made this choice in fear
Because you were so kind to me
For you I’ll play this melody
I’ve placed my want
On things that I don’t need
All the sadness
that dwells within my greed
Don’t you love
the stranger that I’ve become
And I know you think
That I don’t feel
But because you were so kind to me
For you I’ll play this melody
Now I know
just how we’ve been
How I could not keep you
Close enough to see
Where I wander
I’m further lost
All these things you saw in me
What happened to the dream
We looked to be
But you were so kind to me
Now your pain has
severed my knees
A day in a life
Lived in ease
Your every tear
Disguised as me
I left my hometown and didn't much look back,
headed southward bound in my Cowboy Cadillac,
arrived at this store to grab me some snacks,
Yea, they're right about this town, of how it really attracks,
Yea, here in the town called Nashville, where the Grand Ole Opry's on TV,
They say it's the real deal, where upcoming singers need to be,
but I don't do much singing, 'cause the hound dogs howl at me,
though I sure hope it's worth bringing, my songs, for some to see,
I've got them on the internet, downloading them is free,
I haven't had any right connections yet, but I'm hoping patiently,
gonna find me country singer, try to pitch them a dog gone hit,
like pitching a horseshoe ringer, you know you just can't quit,
Yea, here in the town of Nashville, where the Grand Ole Opry's on TV,
they say it's the real deal, where even writers need to be,
no, I don't do much singing, 'cause the hound dogs howl at me,
but I sure hope it's well worth bringing, my songs, for some to see,
Yea, here in the town of Nashville, where the Grand Ole Opry's on TV,
they say it's the real deal, where upcoming singers hope patiently,
Got some songs to pitch the singers, like me, they just can't quit,
like making a horseshoe ringer, knowing one of them could hit,
I've got them at Poetry Soup, where printing them is free,
log on in, enjoy the view, it's finger friendly as can be,
become a welcomed member, without any sort of fee,
no matter what's your gender, or your nationality,
Yea, here in the town of Nashville, where the Grand Ole Opry's on TV,
they say it's the real deal, where upcoming singers need to be,
Gonna find me a country singer, try to pitch them a dog gone hit,
like throwing a horseshoe ringer, knowing you just can't quit,
Yea, I left my hometown and didn't much look back,
headed southward bound in my Cowboy Cadillac,
arrived at this store to grab me some snacks,
Yea, they're right about this town, of how it really attracks.
sunday morning angel
blue wings and purple hair
fingers tattooed at the tip of her shoulder
if the sun vacates your skies it's over
children sing songs of burgundy rovers
I am your rent my lover
camel crushes
rated your sweet plushes
crowded voices
but no one hushes
the chaos is lovely
but it's the misery that touches
my sunday morning angel
arched smiles
a mother apart from her child
it's been a while since you last foul
you're just a number on speed dial
outside the cafe
a voice some what raspy
a favor indeed
if you choose to ask me
deflower before me
and life just may not last me
city towers
you and me minus the hours
in the neon lights
walk the stars that fail to touch the sky's
apartment 1210
where art thou twelve sinners
the cellos that failed everyday men
the displacements
only seen through a heavens lens
the saint of Orleans
bard windows
crucify your friends
i'll lend you a noose to tie your ends
and when it all ends
think of my sunday morning angel
she never warned you of danger
but she adored the insanity within your anger
my sunday morning angel
is like loving a widower
you never know
what's on the other side of the window
buildings that touch the sky
ceilings that never die
capsize the truth
baptize whatever you knew
there was a time it was just me and you
"songs in a book reflect vacancy"
Hesitation has cost me much joy,
sweet moments I didn't share,
it wasn't either greed or insecurity...
I preferred look away and not care.
If this guilt had not been there
to control my sense of extreme humility:
a laugh, a kiss, a touch or gesture
wouldn't have been missed by me.
Some wonder why they didn't dare,
why they wouldn't dream of what was already there,
not to explore all the wonders and delights of desire...
being reluctant to show the tender side.
.
Wished my decisions hadn't been too premature,
making me prone to mistakes, that in turn
turned out to be a disaster rather than a failure...
watching everything I built quickly burn.
Hesitation has cost me much joy,
the tender feel of willing and passionate lips,
to assure those eruptions of internal passions...
now, what I desire is deluding me.

In my car with the soft top down
Driving down an old country road
I’m taking it all in but my head’s about to explode
When you looked at me that way
I can still remember the very day
I find myself smiling just thinking of you
The world through your love is such a great view
With thoughts of you running though my head
I feel like I’m in a movie but I wish you were here with me instead
Here with me instead
That farm over there has its own story
Of hard work and love, and maybe faded glory
We’ll have our time just you and me girl
I wouldn’t trade it for the whole world
I know I’m in love and it’s so surprising
Being part of your life is so revising
I’m so in love that I don’t want to sleep
Life with you is better than a dream
With thoughts of you running though my head
I feel like I’m in a movie but I wish you were here with me instead
Here with me instead
As the world fly’s by my thoughts are in rhyme
And your simple sweet face conquers my whole mind
I’ve stopped somewhere to take in the view
My love for you baby will forever renew
With thoughts of you running though my head
I feel like I’m in a movie but I wish you were here with me instead
Here with me instead
Here with me instead
(my lyrics for a country song, but with no music yet.)
Well, my momma -bless her soul - she brought me up good.
She taught me all she knew and she taught me what she should,
She took me to a church and she made me knock on wood.
Still, Honey, I’m a half-baked sinner.
‘Cause I’m sittin’ here and thinkin’ that you’re look’in mighty fine.
You set my heart to pound’in and I’d like to make you mine.
But I’m such a careful gal though I walk a thin line,
Yeah, Honey, I’m a half-baked sinner.
Chorus:
Oh, a half-baked sinner; that’s all I am.
Stuck here in the middle of “Nowhere Land.”
A half-baked sinner, I’m God’s little joke,
but I still have my spirit ‘cause I’m only half-broke!
Well, I’m contemplatin’ things with you I’m not supposed to do.
If I’m halfway to Hell, they’ll put me all the way through!
But I’m only HALF-stupid - unlucky for you!
Yes, Honey, I’m a half-baked sinner.
Yes, I know you’ve got your pride, but listen, so do I.
I might not tell the truth, but I sure don’t tell no lie!
And I never will give in, for if you ask me why,
It’s because I’m just a half-baked sinner.
Repeat Chorus:
Oh, a half-baked sinner; that’s all I am.
Stuck here in the middle of “Nowhere Land.”
A half-baked sinner, I’m God’s little joke
but I still have my spirit ‘cause I’m only half-broke!
If you had a soul, it’s color would be black;
If you were Pinocchio, your nose would be as long as that;
If you could keep them on, your pants would be on fire;
You’re not only a cheat - you’re a big fat liar.
You look me straight in the eye
And pump out another lie.
I know you were with her,
So please don’t now deny.
Breaking my heart
Was just the start
Of the beginning of the end;
Now don’t add to the hurt
By saying she’s just a friend.
If you had a soul, it’s color would be black;
If you were Pinocchio, your nose would be as long as that;
If you could keep them on, your pants would be on fire;
You’re not only a cheat - you’re a big fat liar.
The cologne that you wear
Doesn’t cover her perfume.
I see other signs
That she was in our room.
You wonder why
All night I cry
And pretend that you don’t know;
I think the time has come
For you to pack and go.
If you had a soul, it’s color would be black;
If you were Pinocchio, your nose would be as long as that;
If you could keep them on, your pants would be on fire;
You’re not only a cheat - you’re a big fat liar.
No longer loving me,
Is surely bad enough;
But taking me for a fool
Is a bit too much.
Be a man,
Admit if you can,
You’re fooling around behind my back;
Then turn and walk out that door,
Taking your things I’ve already packed.
In all my days I worry
I have nothing to offer you
Yet in such little time
You became the only person
That meant so much to me
When you’re all out of charming things to say
To where do the moments disappear
Try not to stand out so much
The things you learn as the days dismiss
When the music can no longer hold me
And your prayers can no longer lift me up
This piano shields my ugly voice
And when I fall asleep at night
I can still see you there
You should let me see the sun
And if something should happen to me
Well, I brought my hat and keys
In loving memory of
The voice of the ghost singing me asleep
When your world comes falling down
And you’re all out of charming things to say
To where do the moments disappear
Try not to stand out so much
The things you learn as the days dismiss
Once in your life
Lately it’s good night
Dearly, I wish to stay
But in fields of locust
I must lay
Father
If you’re there
I need to know if you’re listening
I believe in me
For you left me stranded
But what else is missing
A child in the wind
It whispers in whistles
I’m chewing on my own flesh
Tough as gristle
But in time we all break
Lay and never awake
My soul is singing
But how much more can it endure
I love her for she is innocent and pure
These are the consequences of tagging happiness
It’s all ironic
I’m up at 5am laughing in stress
Are you jealous of me as a person
Do you envy the life
That you would so kindly end
You move mountains, we know
But could you do it without the cursing
Go without shedding a tear
When floors fall from beneath your feet
And things are a matter to worsen
Yes I’m hurting
Will it get better
Or am I out a storm without shelter
i think you should know
that i've been me
for a long while now
and i think you should know
that i'll be me again
here today, oh so down
yea i've been down for while now
but i think you should know
that i'm trying a little harder
to not be me in such a way
it offends you, yea
i wonder if i could wake up and not worry about a thing
take your responsibilities and do away with structure
time and all, i envy the luxury
i kind of like to think
i'd like to be a record player
static and bristles is all i'd have to worry about
to got out and play
and i could be compact or i could be a thumb tact
and i could make you smiling happy or i could make you hurt, yea
but then i would just be the same
and that's just what i want to change
i just want to change
and be someone somewhere new
if i could change you
i'd only ask you to help me change my
tired thoughts
i think you should know
that i've been me
for a long while now
and i think you should know
that i'll be me again
here today, oh so down
yea i've been down for while now
"would you if you could"
