We met on the battlefield with a closed heart and open mind
Like a solider charging into battle we moved in totally blind
We commanded our passions our fears and our doubt
Winning or losing the contest is what its all about
When the conflict is over when push comes to shove
Which side will prevail in this war of love
We had a plan for this endearing battle
But we were both strong and our nerves did not rattle
You moved your feelings like pawns in a game
I fell for them and I’d never be the same
When the conflict is over when push comes to shove
Which side will prevail in this war of love
Both sides were affected in the first skirmish
With some overpowering hugs and a damaging kiss
We were both heart brokenly wounded but we wanted more
We counted the casualties and kept a close score
When the conflict is over when push comes to shove
Which side will prevail in this war of love
The struggle is over and we know our true desire
We stopped the attack and called for a cease fire
We signed a peace treaty and struck a bargain
Now were allies of love and I call you my best friend
She held them tightly trying not to cry out with the pain as the door opened. A large woman bearing an almost visible authoritarian streak exploded through the door filling the white sterile looking room with her presence. In a deep manly voice that matched her size, she told them the time was over. They had to go… The children cried as she placed her hand on their shoulders and pulled at them with as much compassion as one swatting a fly or stamping on a snail leaving its silver trail over an immaculate looking flower border.
joined with old bruises
footprints on her naked back…
two children still cry
The cries lingered in the corridor as the doctor showed the plain clothed policewoman into the secure white room. The photographer followed carrying equipment strapped to his body like a solider in full battledress. Pictures were taken of the once slim beautiful, now battered girl who had two beautiful children that were now in care while she was paraded before strangers with a camera before the healing could start from the stamping given as a parting gift by her new ex boyfriend.

Competition Entry: Mixing it up
That’s my Cecilia sitting over there,
with brown eyes and wavy hair,
a joy that’s truly blessed my life,
even since she became my wife.
But things were not always so
if you go back twelve years ago,
she said her vows to another man,
A brave solider named Ed Bergand.
They were young, in their twenties,
with little cash but love aplenty,
for six years they were together,
withstanding all the stormy weather.
I can hear it when she reminisces,
hear the love for one she misses,
a joyous time, for them both,
until one day Ed was made to go
oversees to fight Islamists,
he died battling terrorists,
amidst the chaos and the strife,
Cecilia lost the love of her life.
Understandably, she was in tears
and lost for most of three years,
such a loss I cannot conceive…
but after three years she met me.
Took her for a night on the town,
oblivious to what had gone down,
we had ourselves a very good time,
movies, dinner—wine and dine.
For a great year we then dated,
her great loss I appreciated,
I could not be jealous of Ed,
a hero who for his country bled.
In time she began to feel love,
and for me that seemed enough.
But her love for me is different,
not so fiery and exuberant,
I know this because her voice soars
when she speaks of he who went before.
I say nothing, and I never will,
just swallow down this bitter pill,
besides, we can’t squabble right now,
with pregnant women, it’s not allowed,
cause soon enough the day will come
when we will welcome a new son.
Maybe that will drive it home,
this piece of us to call our own,
or maybe this is just my fate
forever stuck in second place,
the love of her life, lost to time...
she doesn’t see that she is mine.
These battle scars,
don't look like they're fading,
Don't look like they're ever going away,
But darling that's ok,
Because battle scars show how much you grow,
Grow through the highs and the lows
Set fire to my purpose
And I let it burn
Do you feel how your stomach does churn
the fear changes us all
at some point we all fall
Make me feel stupid,
Try to fight it off but its useless
How did I get into this mess
We all ask ourselves this
But the truth will never miss
Even if its painful
Some things, they're
Solid, they're built to last
Some things, they fall
Apart, they break like glass
Some days, all you want to do is say pass
But if you continue to grow and to learn
The thought of life, you will come to yearn
What's worse?
Hearin' what you wanna hear
Or hearin' what's honest
Pain like daggers from lies promised
darling rip those daggers out
Turn to the world and shout
Wakin' up knowin' I'm
Somebody's daughter, but
I don't know a lot about my father
Maybe that's the reason i don't do stuff like I ought to
No matter what we've learnt
we can build ourselves anew
You know I, I'm afraid of change
Guess that's why we stay the same
Most of us throw a rope around our horse to tame
the one wild part of us
The part that's not scared to make a fuss
We bury it down deep
And go along with the sheep
I got nothing left, just an empty heart,
I'm a solider, wounded so
I must give up the fight
There's nothing more
For me, lead me away
Stop don't beg me to stay
But wait there's a torch that leads you through the dark,
Even when the outcomes look stark
So, thanks for the distractions
But I need to pursue my passions
What paths am I on again?
My universe was turned upside down
I gave you my hearts crown
And you were too busy filling your purse
In other words, can I get a reimburse?
Of the curse of knowing you
Time cannot be reverse
Where to Start?
You may argue that it was my choice to go rescue
Because I thought I saw, strength, value, and virtue
That’s why I was into and wanted to continue
Now I see though that your love was never true
It was all just a waste; my heart needs to be erased
My hearts broken and needs to be awoken
Where to Start?
I need a nurse, for these symptoms are getting worse
But the dispatcher only wanted to send a hearse
Because I’m frozen and instead I’m being led in a sled
Consumed by this blacken cavity tissue
Because girl you are my issue
My love became the smoke of a cigar
Forgotten memoirs of a fallen star
Thrown down and drowned in a shadowy well
Farewell. No misspell. I meant ‘Go to hell!’
Here’s my eulogy. Wish you never met me
Thanks for the remembrance of you
Where to start?
She a player who’s queued for her next match
Wanting to try out her newest patch
Then taking aim
And ------- until there is nothing else to game
The body counts
Something is wrong with her account
Where to start?
She needs to go find a new toy
Something like a little solider boy
Melting all the plastic
Making all the room toxic
Did someone call for the medic?
The verdict, horrific
My empty cavity
Just a tragic memory
Where to start?
As there will always be this shadow behind my ---
To harass
As a reminder of our past
So, why do the nice guys finish last?
Because of you!
Where to start?
In pain, I cried
Being electrified
In this hospital room
Called life’s classroom
I’ll need a qualified doctor
Something to monitor
This surgery of your robbery
From the treasury
Of my heart
Where to start?

Solider of fortune are responsible to provide the real stability to pakistan among all nations of the world.
your unity, faith and discipline are real means of your glory in war.
your Prostration to Allah AlMighty five times in a day gives you strong powers to win wars.
Solider of fortune is a man of patriotism,a man of dignity,a man of diplomacy,a man of disciplined, a man of dedication,a man of devotion,in total he is a man of distinction.
The death of Martyr is the real life of nation. And the blood of Martyr is the real charity of alive nations.
you are such a fast Cavalier who is loyal to his own Pakistani nation & loved by his own beloved country people.
you are light of vision to each & every eye and you hold the spirit of every pious person.
You give real survival and respect to our religion islam.
You give safe, secure and stable environment to the whole world by your own well cultured devoted down to earth personality.
Charity received through super power countries increase our affluence level only.
But if we grow our own country crops of cereals.so it will verdant and beautify our environment.
Means if we belief on our own resources,or our own young future generation, they themselves work hard with full confidence then we easily achieve our future goals.
So we donot need of charity from outside.we will able to achieve our required future targets by working with our own limited resources.
If we donot do Bargaining of our self respect & Venality at any case even infront of our real enemies.
Then the barren land of our own beloved country pakistan turn to become Oasis & overseas.
It means We will enjoy the benefit of each & every facility with in our own pakistan.

Setting on a park bench going nowhere
when a blind stranger taps me on one shoulder
he opens his newspaper, then says Right-There
look at that, would you, I say: I'm talkin' to a solider
Wait till I'm off this phone please
without another word he sets beside me,
opens a lunch box with a squeakie lid, sneeze
being that man I am, handing him a tissue, see
Ya know, feelin' imposed upon, yet he seeming friendly
I really wanted to be alone, though your here now said I
please make yourself comfortable, while I finish-calmly
saying Good-Bye
Waistin' no time at all to strike up a chat
he stated please Mr. did you read this mornin' paper
have you heard it's a funeral, an what people are sayin'
our king of Rock & 'Roll' passed, on his way to his maker
No-way, not today it's a beautiful day
are you sure it says that
have a look for yourself said he-ay
read it to me I'm blind, I thought as I set
I'd love to help you, only I can't read
Oh! I'm sorry I asked you
living in this park, what do you need, are you homeless,
Not at all kind Sir, stood-up with cane-I'm a little blind too
We said a small prayer, Thank you! Good-Bye Elvis
Lazy boy chair and an Old Man
Storytelling for sure
Not a fairytale, but wisdom from the shoulder through experience
As the old man started to narrate, it came to mine of his war years
Devastation and Destruction confronted faced the battles head on
World War 1 to be exact
I was drafted into war to do battle
Not a choose I wanted, but one I had to face
He was fighting on unforbidden soil
The enemy was carefully observing us
As they say, “War was Hell”
It was beyond measure with no pleasure
Soldiers were dropping like flies on both sides
I received one would in my arm, had to maneuver through the ordeal
Ammunition had to be ready to strike at any given moment
Bombs upon bombs were dripping
Ceasefire was no option
You had to be courageous throughout no matter what
I witnessed babies dying in Soldiers arms
It’s not a sight to see when you are a Soldier
I remember spoken words of command
Yet my thought of war back then in my Lazy Boy chair in my moment to reflect back to those days
Death could have been imminent for me
Now I see as a blessing and a lesson for survival
I am still here at 90 years old to share with young people in general, and my grands and greats
What a life back then
No one knew the pain and agony a Solider goes through for battling for freedom
One never knows unless one experiences of what could have been in finale of life
Sleep on my little one’s
Your life will be better as promised
Take it from an Old Man
Wisdom at large.

poor pity solider
Eager to loose his horrific sight
Though his hope is sweating blood to seek the light
Light that helps him fight, light that kept him tight inside
The light that provides him the moon sight
With his kin at his side.
As candle lit in the sky
White foam starts to clear the sight
He strained his eyes, the eyes
Which saw his captain die
The eyes
Which saw his flesh getting apart from his thigh
The Arm which cries
Leaving Salty red drops to fly to die,
The cruel arm wearing arrogant on
Letting himself cry on and on
Whereas his wingless tears crawling to make him strive
So that they won’t die
Hanging on the prow, thinking about gone
His beats are down.
Secreting red ink On
On the white wall
Having blue patches
Where ever his eyes went on
He became loon for a moment
So loon that even his death would laugh on what he said
“Ho! It feels so fresh between the ice
The ice receiving my live sacrifice
It’s the best place to die, where the dead shell don’t receive file’s”
The ice splits into two, two into three, three into four
As the sharp east orange swords rise and strokes
Thinking about the silent music is his only hope
Which is in the icy slope
He start’s to remember his past, when he chased his children back
“I’m going to get you” he silently says
Pearls from his eyes came again.
The poor solider came out of loop of his past
He sees his Venus at nine, “come to me “she said
Sitting on the air,
And children playing with her hair
The old soldier comes in the form and made
His shoulders move along.
It was just useless as he couldn’t bear his flesh
Coming out, out of his chest, out of his thigh
out of every where in his sight
“It’s the best place to die where no one can cry
I cry for myself, I give my own eulogy
About this tragedy with little sprinkle of comedy”
He prayed for his own funeral
He was the only ruler, only citizen, the only joker of the icy town
With the dead audience all around
He took his last breath
Went to an endless trip
His eager to lose his horrific sight was satisfied
And his blood came out of his hair to close his eyes.
