Morris

The very first time I saw him
I thought he looked sublime
Never dreaming in all the world
That one day he would be mine,
He was not what you'd call 'a head turner'
He didn't stand out in a crowd
But in my eyes, Morris was gorgeous
When I was with him, I always felt proud
Life with him was never at 'snails pace'
We spent many an hour cruising town
And although he lived life 'in the fast lane'
He never, once, let me down
Always there, exactly when needed
On him I could always depend
Through time we became unseparable
He was a solid, reliable friend,
We would visit all maner of places
He was full of drive and vim
With Morris I found the freedom
I would never have known but for him
Then one day, it was all over,
I knew life wouldn't be the same
That nothing on earth would fill the void
Of never seeing Morris again,
It broke my heart when we parted
Although I knew he had to go
And I wept, as I handed the stranger the keys
To drive away 'Morris'.....my metro!!

Our lives are but a breath

     so minuscule in the vastness

of time and the cosmos

that insignificance that dresses our life

              is barely realized by those

seeking to define what is being self

and the paths of humanities dichotomy

desertion of all worth and depredations unconcealed

to superfluous self exaltation

           its a wonder the species

has survived even to this time

    a continual examination

of embedded frailties that are self defeating

    but in whose apex

            will surrender one’s own life

in order to preserve another’s

and not meaning the kind a government demands

also the ability to sleepwalk through life

with so few moments of clarity

         that Jesus could pronounce

“Let the dead bury the dead ”

One atom alone contains enough energy

         to obliterate a multitude

         of cities upon its release

yet our bodies contain billions

of those little energy factories

but the amount of all that energy

in the cosmos is beyond all comprehension

I should be moving at the speed of Light

but I prefer a snails pace

Or how easily our ability to think

submits itself to ideological shackles

imposed by the self appointed masters

of the bastions of a caste system

that plagues every strata and path

and highway threading the lives of “humans”

A species so full of darkness

where the divine spark is nearly dormant

             you are what I Am

Go and learn what that means

Look! You have made my days just a few;And my life’s duration is as nothing in front of you.Surely every earthling man, though standing firm, is nothing but an exhalation.

Surely in a semblance man walks about.Surely they are boisterous in vain. One piles up things and does not know who will be gathering them.

Tidal wave

My weaken body lay motionless on the rock covered beach, as the night time moon shines its light upon its waters, its own shadow cover it like a blanket of death..

I lay motionless my breath sloweth to a snails pace, my body covets in seaweed, no more fight do I have, not even a slightest breath.

I yearn for the coming of the outgoing tide to carry me out into the empty sea, my love, my kindness no longer felt on thus earth, my family has turned away as so has all the others.

So has the sea bird spreads its wings as to lift off into the darkened sky, my eyes are searching sadly for the waves of grief, death, its waters have swept beneath my limp body, my empty saddened, shameful heart, takes its final beat.

God has made HIS choice, “it is well with my SOUL” He giveth, HE take it away” My empty soul I leave here for whomever I have hurt, I have nothing left to give thus world, I feel my body carried out to the SEA in which GOD created.

Goodbye my Souls, please do not stand and weep, for the sun shall rise again, another day has come.

Premium Member A Slippery Day

Winter descended upon the prairie plain
Pelting the ground with freezing rain
Nipping, biting this cold morning air
Thin layers of ice coated everywhere

You get out on the road but don't step on the brake
That would be your biggest mistake
For it would make you slide and spin
This would start your heart pump'in within

The accidents, fender benders take there toll
Some cars or even semi's can roll
The roads become a treacherous place
You crawl like a turtle at a snails pace

You dread having to go out that day
Driving is dangerous they say
you get behind the wheel and pray
No one will back end you along the way
