Premium Member A Mere Pawn

Calling at the midnight hour come my demons and my dreams, each with hope of casting colored skys of their choosing over the vast open regions of this restless mind.

The first come crashing in as an army of conquest bringing with them dark clouds of coming events and impending trials, raining cold fear of worry and concern….. though such trials have not drawn first breath of reality nor seen hint of stroke from Time’s brush upon his canvas….. yet they come,,, marching in their orderly disorder pointing as they do to the broken bodies of past failures which lay bleeding in fields all too close within regretful taste of memory’s edge.

The second may come as whisperers found floating within a breeze, heard perhaps as an infant’s cry in the distance,,…searching for one who might tend to every need and wistful desire. At other times these Dreams come with booming voices demanding finish to temples of self glorification that in their completion all just rewards and accolades be collected and laid at my feet in view of those who have eyes to see..

……. all the while lay I ,calling for peace between the two, wishing only for a restful sleep that tomorrow I might be more than a mere pawn in the games played within the hallways of my own mind.

The waves crushing her tiny body with striking blows
White creamy wash caresses her golden skin as the wave slows
Moving sluggishly towards the horizon
Because of a recurring vision she hopes she’ll arise in
Her feet digging deep into the sand as it sinks between her toes
Emersed, with arms folded she prepares and off she goes
The cool oceans breeze kisses her beet-red cheeks
It knows what she’s come for and what she seeks
Sunshine drips onto coppery auburn locks shimmering, it lifts
A pale honey-wheat straw sunhat spins away and drifts
Almost completely submerged in salty brazen waters
Compelled at this point with the nauticus mythic plotters
Shut against blaring sunrays are her deep emerald eyes
Her sunburnt face gazing up at vanilla skys
She meditates on what had before appeared, a glimpse
Of the siren with long flowing raven hair and other nymphs
Teeth chattering to tapping sounds like wooden castanets do
Contain her trembling lips she can’t, they turn purplish merlot-blue
Shaking from an Autumn’s cold spell, she imagines she’s a mermaid
But diving in opaque murky silt wasn’t what she had expected
Her bare flesh emerging from impure poisonous rot of green
Blood red ripples dripping from the clouds that are unseen
Neither she nor the fierce Cyrene, Apollos wife the naiad should dread
Numbing overcomes her at last she hears the siren singing in her head
Paralyzing fragments of her hallucination now bestow
A gifted sacrifice her (secret thoughts) needed for soothing waves to flow
In the distance a cranberry sun sets, now streaks of pink implores
A darkened blue-green sea, maroon and sapphire shores
A beautiful mermaid appears and thanks her for her secret thought
That only love for the deep blue sea (the ocean is life) and to all this be taught

Premium Member Night Skys

the cloak of the night skys
glitters with its jewels
and the whitecaps glisten neath the moon
and I am drawn in to its majesty
the hearld of darkness sparkling with light
and stand sheltered by its expanse
the cast of moon scattering gloom
and my smallness is felt deeply
familiar patterns are there
by virtue of the light there reflected
and the surty of knowing its ceaselessness
and its boundries as yet unknown and undiscoverd
that we look away from ourselves to something greater
what is dark in ourselves is far lessened
by the light reflected from another source
to draw strength from without
the whitecaps lap at the shore
the limits defined by her moon and sky
a night of peace unfettered by storm
but the storms will come
with shadows and obscurity
to frighten children and make seamen pray
mankind will scamper to their burrows
and I will be one with them
casting my sight till the sun rises again
chasing away storm and shadow
another morrow to illuminate
the confines of our lives
as is imposed by time and law unceasing

Premium Member Oh How I Marvel

I marvel at love and the gift of your eyes
Eyes that breathe life straight to my soul
Eyes that lift me to the blue skys of hope
I marvel at love and the gift of your eyes
Eyes that see me not as I am
But Eyes that see me for what I can be

I marvel at love and the gift of your smile
A smile that shines brighter than that of the sun
A smile that engulfs me with uplifting hope
A smile that can warm in the cold or the rain
A smile that cleanses from anger, and pain

I marvel at love and the gift of your arms
Arms that embrace with loves golden glow
Arms that I long for both daytime and night ,
Arms that embrace me wherever I go.
Arms that protect me from above or below

I marvel at love and the gift of your giving
Giving yourself with gifts true intent
No strings no questions no return ever expected
Your giving no doubt the heavens have sent
You give in the morning and all through the daytime
You give in the evenings, the gifts most Devine

I marvel at love and the way that it frees me
Frees me to dream dreams of life more perfected
Frees me of my worries and cares
Frees me from nights lonely and rejected
Frees me from my heartache , stress and despairs

I marvel at love and the way that it heals me
Reminds me I'm not merely of flesh and of bone
Heals me from this worlds trouble and sorrow
Memories of yesterday and visions of tomorrow
I'm healed by your love ,your grace and forgiveness
I'm healed in your presence
my steppingstone home

Yes it's a dream but I do want to dream it
To feel like its real…. even in this moment
To remember your face and the smile that's across it
To drink in this moment and then live it forever
The taste of your lips never forgotten
The heart pounding moment when I rush once again to your loving arms, approved by your eyes, washed with your smile , free to dream dreams as I am healed by your grace

To relive the embrace gives hope to my world
Surely you were sent by God up above

Oh how I marvel , yes I marvel at love

There Lives a Man

Thoughts echo, mental void,
Deep, dark, empty void,
****ed it here, ****ed it there,
****ed it up, ****ed it up.
Demons come and demons go,
Demons live and demons sow,
Demons die , demons lie,
Demons cloud demons pry.
Sober thoughts, drunken words,
Red skys , infernal birds.
In the dark , there lives a man,
Alone and cold, there lives a man,
There he sits a simple man,
Soul abandoned , a lonesome man,
He wants to die, deaths a thought,
Whats the point , just a thought,
Angels cry, and demons hiss,
Living life, voided bliss,
Life will come and life will go,
A dark man comes here, to and fro,
Prys his eyes and pricks his brain,
Slowly still he goes insane,
In the dark there lives a man,
Trying to do the best he can,
Dieing is just a simple plan,
Will he try? he can he can,
At what cost, does life come too,
Red white black and blue,
No one but himself to blame,
No one but himself to shame.
There a man, still a boy,
Yearning for his ode to joy.

Sea of Love

beneith the phantoms of the deep
a wretched grave yard where love sleeps
all but forgotten loves of time
covered in fiction, rumors and lies
decay did whither their werry bones
and unrest bothered their hearts left alone
suicide and murderous mist
malace and for thought of a poisonous kiss
for each they sailed the sea of love

clear skies and ocean above
below lost vessels that once rode the sea
smothered by waters that pulled down deep
trusting the ship they begged to sail
where calm sea's often become strong gails
and tossed are sailer to and fro
from the bow to down below
suffering what they didn't know
the sea's anger and ability to show

Is there a god to which can be prayed?
where is Poseidon, can he be paid?
for safe passage through the rocks
take from us this state of shock
where every wave would cover thee
and silence prayers and every plea
certian distruction awaits this ship
being torn asunder by natures grip

thunder peels across dark skys
like a truth it is a light
but darkness denies it's pressence still
lightening cannot change the will
where fears would scare, the sailor steals
tighten the ropes secure the sails
love demands the highest price
certian risk and sacrifice
the abyss has claimed a myriad of lives
who's death for love was satisfied

sailing on the sea of love
glimpsing the phantoms from up above
a sad sanity can calm the sea
and then rage takes over and destroys what be
we cannot hide from love what love see's
the bigger the ocean the deeper the sea
the deeper the love the bigger the greif
no matter who or what they be
the ship is the hostage of the sea
you can sink in it's depths or to its shore flee
there is always a risk when you tempt the sea
and there is always a grave waiting for thee

Wildflower

WILDFLOWER

     WILTED, MEEK
AND TIRED AS CAN BE

           AWAITING
A DROP OF RAIN

     I RAISE MY
PETALS TO FACE THE
SUN

       I’M LIKE THEM
WE ARE THE SAME

     YOU SEE ME HERE
BUT YOU DON’T CARE

         YOU NEVER
PAY ME ANY MIND

       BUT I STILL
RAISE MY PETALS TO
BLOOM

       THOUGH I’M
NOT YOUR CHOSEN KIND

ONE DAY I’LL GET
THAT DROP OF RAIN
POURED OUT FROM THE
SKY

AND I WILL STRETCH
MY PETALS OUT
REGARDLESS OF THE
LIE
          THAT
SOMEHOW I AM LESS
THAN THOSE FLOWERS
YOU TEND SO MUCH
      I WILL
FLOURISH FROM THE
SKYS' PURE LOVE
WITHOUT YOUR GENTLE
TOUCH.

Life's Challenge
Kevin Davis 2026

Sometimes when life becomes a challenge,
I find myself seeking a way to get revenge.
I get down on my life, and my tomorrows,
Thinking what's the use of all of these sorrows.

It seems at that time all I see are negatives,
And ignore the fact that there are positives.
Then I open up my eyes, look up to the skys,
Feel the sun and wind bring back joy to my eyes.

The wind reminds me softly, storms all pass through,
The sun lays its warm hand on my shoulder like it knew.
And in that quiet blessing, my heart learns again—
Life offers me healing each time I let it in.

You wrote extraordinaire poetry
Can’t fathom, so many
Creative thinking
Creative writing
Cultivating pen in hand
Thoughts racing to the ends of the earth
A small desk to write on
So long ago
I’m right here with you
Massachusetts to Texas
I can only imagine ever meeting you in person
You speak to me through brilliant poetry
How did you even find me?
I’m writing with a learning disability
Maybe one day
Upon velvet skys
Poetry found us beyond the azure horizons
Send me a post card
Through rhymes and rhythms from heaven

The Innocent Victims Are Today's Hero's

The innocent victim's are todays heros

I look up to the hills
Behold was cofusion
In it fullness of verities
As it clouds are so dark
Despite it colours
I realise it hold no future

I look up to the mountains
Behold was an alarming
flames of disaster
Spreading poisonous smokes
Out from it evil vapour
Polluting the air
So i realise how come
Ignorance is invoke today

I look high to the sky
Despite all the cofusion
From the hills
Despite all the pollution
From the mountains
The sky remains
Cloud white below it blue skys
As doe it never cosume
All this flames of fire
Humans pays back
By wars
Here i realise mother nature
Is ever faith full

I look into reality
I saw humans
Born by women
Grow to be grown
By feeding on all what
Nature gaves
Same nature humans
Are destroying when
They grow to be so called
Grown fools
How come fools some ask
When On our own we so called grown adult
Humans cant think any more
Common sense is now
So so expensive everywhere
In africa if you got one
Then you are close to
Six feet
By the men on the hills
On top of the evil mountains

I look into life
I realise life is not base
On the hands of the
Opressor
Either is it determined by
The men on the hills
With all there cofusion
From this hills of power
I realise every mountains
Has an explosion date
 for the innocent
Victim of circumstances
To pave way into the future
For at the end
As the flames fade away
So will all our cofusion follow
As the prophecy goes
I dont know exactly
What will be tomorrow
But i know tomorrow
Lives in today
Then if there will be heros
For today
Is all of those we bear
The cost of all calamities today
And that simplifies
The innocent victim's are todays heros
