My Sister and Me

When I was three my parents gave a special gift to me
Small and pudgy, wrapped up so tight
So precious, this gift, it was love at first sight
A gift I would treasure for the rest of my life
She touched my hand and smiled at me
I knew in that moment always together we would be
Best friends forever, my sister and me

Her first day of school our mum looked at me
Why put your boots on, she asked curiously
Anyone touches my sister they answer to me
Always by her side in case she needed me
Never did she stray too far in case I needed she
In that moment anyone could see, always together we would be
Best friends forever, my sister and me

Together we laughed, suffered and cried
Holding her hand as her child is born
Losses of love, together we mourn
In times of sorrow her tears I wipe away
At my weakest moment she helps me to my feet
Forever, through these moments, together we be
Best friends forever, my sister and me

In old age I wonder what we will be
Two crazy old ladies sitting under a tree
In our rocking chairs with cats in our laps
Laughing and talking of the places we have been
Every story beginning with remember when we?
No story ending, life one big adventure for you and me
All these moments to cherish when you and I made we
My best friend and my sister, forever you will be

Sisters

WHAT IS IT TO HAVE SISTERS
AND WHAT DOES IT MEAN
IT'S LIKE HAVING YOUR
OWN READY MADE TEAM

A SISTER IS SOMEONE
WHO IS ALWAYS THERE
A SISTER IS SOMEONE
WHO WILL ALWAYS CARE

SOMETIMES YOU ARGUE
FUSS AND FIGHT
AND SOMETIMES THEY ARE THE ONES
YOU TALK TO ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT

IT'S NOT ALWAYS PERFECT
AND IT'S NOT ALWAYS GOOD
BUT IT'S YOUR SISTER WHO IS
THERE BECAUSE IT'S A SISTER WHO SHOULD

YOU MIGHT NOT ALWAYS SEE EYE TO EYE
BUT IT'S HER SHOULDER YOU LEAN ON
WHEN YOU NEED TO CRY

SOMETIMES YOUR SISTER
MAY NOT HAVE THE SAME MOM AND DAD
BUT IT'S THE BOND YOU HAVE TOGETHER
NOT WHAT DNA YOU HAVE

YOU CAN HAVE A SISTER
THAT DOES NOT LOOK LIKE YOU
BUT IT'S THE SISTER WHO UNDERSTANDS
THAT WILL MEAN THE MOST TO YOU

I CHERISH EACH AND EVERY ONE OF MINE
ALTHOUGH I MAY NOT SHOW IT ALL THE TIME

I LOVE MY SISTERS AS I AM SURE YOU DO YOURS
SHE'S ONE OF GODS LITTLE PLEASURE WE GET TO ENDURE

The Bond

The Bond

There is a bond.
A bond between two, a bond between many.
An invisible chain that links one another and makes them as one.
A bond that is strong like the day is long.
A bond that is forged in stone and tender as the heart.
This bond is between my sister and I.
It keeps us close and holds us tight.
It watches over us deep into the night.
This bond that we have is unbreakable and true.
Allah only knows what I would do without you.
You are my sister, my friend, my pillar of strength.
You keep me safe in your tender embrace.
Your sweet memory I could never erase.
We have lived as friends and sisters for spell.
But it is you my dear sister I must tell.
You are a blessing to me and a rock to lean on.
I have high hope we shall go on and on.
I want only the best for you.
Because I want for my sister what I want for myself.
With the help of Allah be can share our bond in the Jannah.

For God So Loves Sisters

She came back in my life when I was twenty
And from the start we loved each other plenty

I lost her when I was a little child
That's something we had never reconciled

Our mama died and all the kids were scattered
Finding them was all that really mattered

I grew up hard and so did she it seems
But I saw my sister always in my dreams

One day a stranger walked in from the cold
She looked familiar so I acted bold

Studied her face and then it dawned on me
This was my sister and then suddenly

She looked at me -it seemed she knew me too
And without pause into her arms I flew

God brought her back after the lonely years
We held each other through those joyful tears

I prayed so long and hard for this to be
Now I feel like the Lord has set me free

We never knew He watched us from above
That He would reunite us with His love

Little Sister Blues

the younger sister means always the last to get
they say its middle child syndrome but I'm the youngest yet
the baby of the family treated like a fool
smothered yet ignored following the rules

my older sibling ignore me for the majority of the time
but when they turn there attention i sure do pay for that crime
simple things like walking past and smacking the back of my head
with the parting shot following the lines "i do wish you were dead"

My parents are no better for all they see is the money sign
a nuisance that occurred when there life intertwined
beaten down and left alone is this what the fates had planned?
answer me! Damn it! Answer me I demand!

So I guess what I'm feeling is little sister blues
forced to pay for others crimes until I'm old news
I just have to wait for the final song
when I can spread my wings and finally be gone

SISTER IN LAW

MY ONE AND ONLY SISTER IN LAW.
MY BROTHERS LOVE,MYBROTHERS WIFE.
TOGETHER YOU ARE GOOD AND RAW .
STUCK LIKE ONE IN YOUR LIFE
AT TIMES LIFE WILL PITCH YOU A HARDBALL
STICK YOU IN THE BACK WITH A KNIFE
AND STILL YOU DON'T LET YOUR SELF FALL
LIFE AT TIMES COMES REAL HARD.
STILL YOU HOLD YOUR HEAD UP HIGH
AND YOU ALSO STAND REAL TALL
MY BROTHER LOVES YOU HE CAN'T DENY
YOUR THE ONLY ONE I WILL CALL.
MY ONE AND ONLY SISTER IN LAW
WHAT DOESN'T KILL YOU NOW.
WILL ONLY MAKE YOU LAUGH LATER.
DON'T LET NO ONE MAKE YOU HAVE A COW
REMEMBER YOU ARE A LOVER NOT A HATER
DON'T EVER THROW IN THE TOWEL.
YOU ARE YOUR OWN FRIEND,AND A CREATOR
I AM SO GLAD HE PICKED YOU.
WE BOTH ARE PICKY, WE HAVE OUR PRIDE.
SO ONCE AGAIN I'M GLAD HE PICKED YOU.
TO BE THE ONE BY HIS SIDE.
MY ONE AND ONLY SISTER AND LAW.

Little Sister

Little sister let me tell you a story I know to well, the path you are on will become a
living hell. Please fear don't tell me it's too late, I don't believe this drug-crazed life
is meant to be our fate. Little sister, Little sister listen to what I am saying, all I am
trying to do is spare you from the pain. We only get one life, lets not waste it away,
everyday, in every way. Little sister do you remember we had everything to call our
own, now addiction has left us all alone. I have been clean for over year, but it took
prison to open my eyes. Little sister please I don't want death to take me by
surprise. Little sister we have choices, tell me which one will you make. My hope is
you won't choose to relive my mistakes. My life set a bad example for you to see, I
am so very sorry, why did you have to follow me?

Jocelyn

**In memory of Jocelyn Elizabeth Smyth RIP 3/27/10 You will always be loved**

The one I had tea parties with.
The one I played games with.
The one I loved unconditionally.
Jocelyn.

She was the best sister ever.
She was the smartest sister ever.
She was the prettiest sister ever.
Jocelyn.

I don't know why she took her life.
I don't know why she isn't with us now.
I don't know why she did this to me.
Jocelyn.

I loved your personality.
I loved your sense of humor.
I loved your chats on the bed with me.
Jocelyn.

When I cry myself to sleep, I think of you.
When I garden in the summer, I think of you.
When I do a swan dive into the pool, I think of you.
Jocelyn.

You will always be loved by me.
You will always be loved by mom.
You will always be loved by dad.
Jocelyn.

I'M Losing My First Friend

When I see her my face drops
All that I knew
All that I dreamed for her
So profoundly misplaced
Deep in the pit of my soul
She is my sister don’t you know
When my tears fall like rivers
And that thought of what my Mother to me sends shivers
She was always there holding my hand
How I cried when she left my side
I would rush to the corner and weep and hide
Now her life is shattered and fail
My sister is absent of her color
The rain has turned into hail
She’s lost her way
Day after day
The drama and the scene
She shakes with a trembling horror
I just wish I could restore her
To the sister I once knew
Now the pills are her friends
What a sad message it sends
How can I watch her decline so hopelessly, and dear?
I ‘m losing her I fear
