Two Peas In a Pod

Two peas in a pod?
My April and me?
No, not at all,
I would not agree

She is all sunshine
laughter and light
I’m shrouded in darkness
too much like the night

She is artistic, outgoing
well read,
I’m the quiet, shy
redhead

But no matter what
 my sister and me,
on one thing,
we’ll always agree

Our friendship is
tried and true
over the years
it grew and grew

deeply rooted as
Aspen trees
snug as a bug
a pod with two peas

Yes, I have to agree
though we are far apart
my April is closely
endeared in my heart.

It is fantastic to have such a relationship with a sister and you depict that with tenderness and feeling. I have 6 sisters and we are like 7 big peas in a big pod, its's great. I am chuffed to see that I have had success in your competition moreso as it's my first competition. I enjoyed entering. Best regards: Déirdre Ó Maidín

Reminds me a little of my two redheaded daughters; they are quite engaging or should I say bickering but don't knock them they will gang up on you. Nice one and thanks so much for your lovely comments on my poetry. Robert

Trudy, my sister and have a few things in common -- writing, theater and dance -- but we could never be two peas in a pod. She is highly critical, explosive and speaks her mind. I never know what to expect from her. Obviously, your wonderful tribute to April got me thinking. Just having a sister is quite a gift, even when the pod seems to be separated into two chambers. Delightful read! Love, Carolyn
