Fate ?, Karma ?, life seems to, always be on the edge
as the Nith River let him go, him, it could not hold
and yet the rest of this story needs to be told.

Fate ?, Karma ?, life seems to, always be on the edge
as I escaped the clutches of the raging, Nith river
but not Rea, the Grand captured him, would not deliver.

Fate ?, Karma ?, life seems to, always be on the edge
Until, weeks later, the Grand subsided and gave up my friend.
I had to identify and knew that, that was another end.

Fate ?, Karma ?, life seems to, always be on the edge
and all the arm wrestling matches with the Grim Reaper,
this poem, and my memories hoard could not be a keeper.

Fate ?, Karma ?, life seems to, always be on the edge
and so we come to July 18th 1997 and the light go out
after shining so brightly, for fifty five years, what that about ?

Fate ?, Karma ?, life seems to, always be on the edge
and the rupture of a mid-brain basilar aneurysm
puts my consciousness into the blackness of a chasm.

Fate ?, Karma ?, life seems to, always be on the edge
and cannot, will not keep this old fool down
as he tries to come back to conscious ground.

Fate ?, Karma ?, life seems to, always be on the edge
as the procedure to save was cancelled, due
to the burning out of a forty thousand tube.

Fate ?, Karma ?, life seems to, always be on the edge
as months later, I go back for the procedure
only to have the neuro radiologist re rupture.

Fate ?, Karma ?, life seems to, always be on the edge
of life or death, a forgone conclusion, a journey for all,
but I wonder why it is that I keep missing the call.

Fate ?, Karma ?, life seems to, always be on the edge
and I wonder if the powers that be, not only want me
to suffer on this plane ?, but to suffer for a long. long time.

Life on the edge would certainly become a novel,
if I included all the chapters of my life’s journey
and the many dark places creating my nightmares.

Life on the edge would certainly become a novel,
if I included all the chapters of my life’s journey
and the many bright, glowing spaces that filled my dreams.

Life on the edge would certainly become a novel,
if I included all the chapters of my life’s journey,
extracted from the subconscious, inebriated mind.

Broken Shell

Broken shell

After a lengthy time of climbing
I sit on the hill peak of courage.
Drafting my testimony on an inkless page of my acquired voicelessness,
Looking down pieces of the shell broken scattered in the valley where
My identity had been locked with my background and sealed in that cocoon of countless soul-crippling fears,
With the key not placed anywhere near but thrown to drown in the pool of my pain and tears

It was dark in there.
There was no air, I
couldn't breathe there....
But now I am free here.

There, lack of freedom is defined as obedience and I
No longer could bear the confined shells in which my wings were squashed and couldn't spread......

I could no longer endure how
I had to scream with my voice so my heart could be heard
Because inked words weren't loud enough to shake the screens of crowds

There, humidity is enough to incinerate breads of dreams into crumbs that are bitter to taste even before nations can feast on them

But now, I sit on the hill drafting and looking at it broken.
Hearing echoes of those with whose ideas I had mine imprisoned
Their voices speak to me pleading
That I may have their stories too told in between angry lines of my drafted testimony and it hurts,
Hearing how the wind on this hill peak tells me stories of different occurrences that has transpired with me confined in a shell of formidable darkness.

Events of women from whose bruised lips had to come a song of courage every Sunday with a Hallelujah and A man who every weekday all day gives them punches as if they were gifts hanging from the ceiling like punching bags.....

I couldn't believe that such stories were thrown in the bookshelf of the untold when I was in the shell there yet

Now I sit on the hill peak and draft.......
The urge is too powerful,
The call is too loud,

As for the shell.....
Leave it broken and its pieces scattered far as the East and the West apart from each other so that I can breathe and the nations cry...through my voice

Pure African Soil

He walked the streets of Bethlehem, Jerusalem, and Nazareth

one hundred percent pure African soil

he was borne and raised on pure African soil

both parents given to raise him here on earth

walked and traveled on pure African soil

he journeyed acrossed the Nile river, Rea sea, and the Jordan river

all rivers of Africa the texture of his hair was as course as wool

his eyes red like fire his skin was bronze brown representing the many

African tribes his feet the same feet that walked across African soil

his story has been myth however, the bible reveals Jesus Christ yes Jesus Christ

is African No one really understands his life's story

so society changed his skin color and hair texture so people would

feel comfortable praising him in our new generation a "white world"

they will not praise a black Jesus having a black president proves that the white world

is in outrage and doesn't want to acknowledge black leaders or prophets

they either want them dead or in jail so no one

can hear the truth about Jesus race and background

alot of black men help found this country from pure African soil

even my lord and savior Jesus Christ

Its very sad but very true today's society would rather praise a statue, plant, or figurine than

to praise Jesus name that's why we have so many religions
I guess God understands that's why he said"you can blaspheme against Jesus name, but if you blaspheme

against God or the holy ghost you will never be

forgiven". Even though he said that, that doesn't mean its ok to blaspheme against Jesus

Always be mindful of what you say because it could be your own destruction

everybody will see Jesus before they all die out

then the mystery will be revealed

Choice

Now choice was given to all humanity
Our choices can bind or set us free.
Your choice may be different than mine
But, that is what choice is by design
The choices we make have cause and effect
And a choice is made even through neglect

Our lives are altered by each choice
Choice can silence or give us voice.
Albeit it purports to give us options
Yet we are not free of its obligations.
We learn to choose right from wrong
Choice can weaken or make us strong

Some choose life, others to die
Some choose to laugh, others to cry
Some choose heaven, others choose hell
But it is eternal at the toll of the bell
Denying God is a choice for perdition
A choice you make by your own volition.

Some choices are made with deliberation
Others are made with no contemplation.
Some choices earn us praise and respect
While others demand we stand erect
Some see choice only for political debate
Killing our own, they try to adjudicate.

Some choices lead to yet one more
So be careful when you open that door!
When confronted with choice you need to see
There are consequences and personal responsibility
Jesus alone made choices with impeccability
So seek counsel for choices of great immensity

We make choices all through the day
Some of us even choose to pray!
Endowed with choice, ‘tis our God given right
We choose darkness or we can choose light.
Even Jesus made a choice back in Gethsemane
Our salvation was bought by His agony

Choice is more than a word we use each day
It is an action with consequences to pay.
I tell you the truth, I hope you can see
Choice is a word of personal responsibility!
You made a choice to read this verse
I hope it made you think and not to curse!

TRIP TO DREAMLAND

A vacation trip to calm salient suburb overwhelmed me in childhood. We stayed in in Grand Mom’s house covering large rea with huge garden to face hills, to embrace forest and to look at dancing stream as dream. I was enchanted with peerless pleasure finding tremendous treasures of Nature so close under wide sky.
I was charmed listening to giggles of bubbling brook. Me, Mom, my sister and brother crossed the slender stream by foot feeling the touch of little brittle ripples.
Enthusiastically I picked up pretty pebbles and collected shiny glistening gem-like stones from the river-bed and pebbly stream strand.
I climbed the peak of low hill experiencing the glory of victory of my first expedition. I was just startled to respond on echoes shouting in the valley.
Wood apples trees were overloaded with mellow fruits spreading all along the boundary of the garden. After lunch, I used to tear off fruits to relish sapid juicy pulp with small wooden spoon. I was too amused enjoying chirping and chattering of unfamiliar birds.
I met a maternal uncle as father-figure perfectly matching with the environment giving me first music lessons.

      When child at seven,
                      Interaction with Nature
                           placed me in Heaven.
                                                                           On seventy plus
                                                                     Reminiscence still haunt me
                                                                           wishing rendezvous.

Chill Out

I hear arguments getting set off time and time again...
I'm stuck in the lion's den
This big guy needs to chill out
Commotion...echoes...
I hear fireworks boom - (besides, it's almost 4th of July!)
Disputes should be dropp'd for good!
I shouldn't be the one talking though!
I need you now, Oh Lord of Accord . . .
Way more than anything on Earth -
You give me mere mirth
I need your support
To dismiss Y-YESTERDAY'S gahhrief
How much am I worth, God? Naught?
Am I your priceless tool or not?
Don't leave me to rot...
I must ch-chill out - I almost forgot!
Give me a rea-reason
To o-overcome the world of w-woe's weight on me
I can't carry this heavy load on my shoulders anymore
Put my mind at ease and help me to chillax for a time
Kick back and let a-accord seep through you - that would be so sublime
The waves of e-emotions are targeting me, shooting me down with glares and
frowns...
Friends come and go...I'm down in the dumps...th-th-this world is so corrupt and i-
it's like a scary ride with loops, ups, downs, and spirals.. . . ...... .. . ..
Every season, new friends appear and then disappear
All of the sudden, I'm tasting the fretful fire of fear
Oh...awkward moments - I MUST HAVE SELF-CONTROL AND PATIENCE...to slowly
drift away from this enchanting, yet deceiving trance - I m-must pull up my pants
I need to seek repentance and CHILL OUT...throughout this circumstance...and just
d-d-dance...
There's times when I need to breathe in and out
Breathe in and out without a breath of doubt
Let me see the light at the end of the cave
I'm in grave...grave danger...I m-must be b-brave

Every Good Woman Need's a Dsmn Good Man

Woman say that a good man is hard to find and to be qiuet honest with you i find
that to be quietly untrue. To me i feel a woman that's searching for a real good
man shouldn't search at all cause if it's meant to be you'll allow love to come to
you.You see just when you think that a good man is to find, that man that you
looking for can be right before your eye's.Tell me could you spot a real good man
if one was in your presence if one was staring you in your eye's.Tell me My
Nubian Sista, when was the last time you had a decent good man in your in
life. You know someone who will love you for you and not care what's between
your thighs. You know the type of man that rather make love to your heart and
understand you as a woman, you know the type of man that rather comfort your
soul inside.Tell me My Nubian Sista,When was the last time you had a man just
treat you like a lady,i mean having someone real that just appreciate you for
you.Tell me when was the last time you just had a man just comfort you, love you,
respect you and just encourage you in everthing that you do.Tell me would ypu
like to be loved unconditionally,a man that just will fulfill your deepest desire's
and your every wants and needs.Well aloow a real man such as myself to take a
journey through your heart to show you how a rea man supposed to keep his
woman pleased.

With smiling faces we are looking for the summer
Josephine, I believe that you're my destiny
Enjoying life in many ways, let's dance
A cup of coffee at The Blue Cafe

Josephine I believe that you're my destiny
For each and every day, our lucky day
A cup of coffee at The Blue Cafe
If we put our hearts into it, nothing to fear

For each and every day, our lucky day
Your warm and tender love, from dream to dream
If we put our hearts into it, nothing to fear
In perfect harmony, I just wanna be with you

Your warm and tender love, from dream to dream
She closes her eyes and whispers so tenderly: I love you
In perfect harmony, I just wanna be with you
Sing a song of love to me with vows and lullabies

She closes her eyes and whispers so tenderly: I love you
Enjoying life in many ways, let's dance
Sing a song of love to me with vows and lullabies
With smiling faces we are looking for the summer

Letterman

Letterman
Poem
Lionel Derbyshire

Write Letterman
One hundred lines
In your letter
Write it better
Word's wayward may miss their mark's
And disconnect our rooftop moment's.
Pick and nick at everything you have seen.
Writing plenty can be empty.
Love lost I cannot win you back
It's a ache it's a heartache.
Drowing for the word's but
Sorrow in our fairytales.
It's a ache it's a headache.
Pale dry lines and wet crying eyes.
Just me and blunt paper.

Write harder Letterman..
Write with your heart instead
Dress it up in paper and
Pen the memory's
Without regrets.

"Hey Rea
I fear future dreams about you
I have to be honest with you..
When we were ecstatic
In those lovely sunset day's.
Sitting atop the billboard
Looking down
At the growing neon city
Sipping coffee .. time buzzing by
The small people.
Running up and down
In locked street's.
Not knowing where
They going to ..
Not knowing where ..
They coming from.
All in quick paced hurry's.
The people and their pain's
My advantage of being with you"

Then thud ! suddenly..
Gracefully you left me behind
I can't write anymore ..
It was us..
Marry me a 100 times ?
I write on the billboard..
But.. sadly
Our line's abort.
Your life cut short
Hundred lines will not..
Bring you back.
