Brick by brick I built my walls,
despite fires raging,
I preserved paths that connected
bridges between our breathless existence.
Now that my heartbeats
have reached a dead end street,
let me rest my jaded head
upon your chest -
for fate has foretold it as my abode to forever sleep.
I was the melatonin to your insomnia,
you the immunity to internal inflictions.
If only I could have drank your infatuation,
as a remedy for my antagonising agony.
Poetry was only a provisional potion,
yet it distracted from all negative notions.
We weaved a blanket of words,
where you adored the moon in nocturnal notoriety,
whilst I portrayed the beauty of sunrise in your eyes.
I guess nothing illuminates forever.
If this was my last love poem,
would you forgive my silence?
Would you still bless me in your verses,
or let my memories wither
like the petals your promised
to bloom in our poetic garden?
Would I be your last metaphor,
in your final spill of tears?
Or would you reveal to the world,
the greatest unfinished love story.
In manipulation of manifestation,
I was your willing wordsmith,
protecting you with my shield of sanity -
in the hope I slayed every demon who desired you.
If it was a crime to love you,
then I was content as a criminal,
awaiting my destiny on death row.
"We choose every day who we want to be." ~ Callum Drift from the new Xmas movie "Red One". Callum is portrayed by the awesome Dwayne Johnson. A fun, family movie with a wonderful message.
Xmas is special. Magic is everywhere and anything is possible. I truly believe that!
We choose every day

We choose every day
Who we want to be
Naughty or nice
Good or Evil
To help or hinder
To create or destroy
We all have a Purpose
A Gift for the World
May they be beautiful
Those Gifts we share
May our Choices bring Light
More Love, Hope and Care
For we are all Connected
In our Journey and our Souls
We are here to make a difference
Help Humanity Heal and become Whole
But those Choices we make
Each and every day
They will define us and our Lives
Our Work and our Play
Let's choose Love, Light and Grace
And ignite the Magic that exists
Let's become our Best Selves
A blessing in this Universe
Anything is possible
And that Magic is everywhere
Like our Starlight and Stardust
Our Souls are infinitely dear

The meticulous melody of my musings is she.
Quietly my quill inscribes intrinsic ink upon the paths she walks.
Profoundly postulated in poems I've portrayed her in -
she's inspired ingenious imagery of beaucoup beauty.
I ponder without her what my life would be like?
With determiners of this, that, these and those, she is the
one who guides like an orchestra of street lights at night.
In times of silence I wonder what she is thinking of
when gazing at blue horizons that appear cloudless,
as her exotic eyes always crave for calming climes.
There is no measure in the pleasure of her treasure and
her artistry on a blank canvas turns stanzas radiantly starry,
so I croon a tune hoping to be the moon under her serene skies.
Yet not all lullabies of lovers can ease a melancholic mind and
sometimes it's difficult to write lyrics making sense of it all.
Not all verses compliment strings with an instrumental that's
an emotionally unbalanced mix of tones not seen as the best
remedy in episodes of rage - so I wonder what becomes of
tranquillity when her tempest temper turns her thoughts dark.
I regret those forgotten promises lost in broken symphonies and
until sanity soothes with words of softness, I'll hold onto all that is bright.
She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that’s best of dark and bright
Lord Byron – She Walks in Beauty
Silencing thought din in our head,
we shift into our heart instead,
granting strobes of bliss beats consent,
God’s touch about naught can be said.
Being blind, we follow the scent,
our faith held firm, will to God bent,
that soft rhythms of the universe,
words penned, love’s whispers represent.
Without any need to rehearse,
poised in repose we pen a verse,
with each flicker in space portrayed,
that the vast void we may traverse.
God Himself hastens to our aid,
that by mind we be not betrayed,
so therefore choosing to be still,
we sing songs our ego forbade.
Every time we pick up the quill,
auto-writing gives heart a thrill,
signalling we’re with God entwined,
Who makes easy ascent uphill.
My love has the eyes of Rembrandt or Delacroix
He sees me in the passion of his secret inner light
He paints with strokes of extraordinary fervor
The fire of ecstasy and devotion of the joy in us
I mirror his vision with glowing admiration
I blush elated by his interpretation to conceive
For what truly I am not from the outside in his vision
Is what I am on the inside showing through
This portrait warms my heart and my spirit
From its reflection that carries his fondness to share
All the precious moments we've gathered together
Portrayed in the picture he paints divinely clear

In a silent dew, melting the morning,
Beautiful as the music, a song
Played softly on the gentlest guitars,
Stirring, urgent, the mists in a heart
Who hears the melancholy played by the stars,
As leaves dance quietly through the night,
Glistening with the moon’s invitation,
Softly glowing in the most vivid imaginations.
Warring with the heart and trembling,
Like the echo of hope, shimmering in the skies,
Reflecting all the sincerity of a joy,
Lavish dreams and serenity, overflowing
Like the rivers and streams, after the rain has gone,
Leaving the liquid moments pouring over the silence,
Abiding in the soul who knows the secrets,
Shadowing the graceful oaks and pines,
Erasing the fears with wings of angelic prose.
Inspirations stirring the notes, a song,
Playing softly on the edges of a temptation,
Alluring moments kissing away frantic tendrils,
Lost, sleeping in the edges of a heart,
Enticing the moments to believe in the calm,
Cool tones of laughter and praise,
Prayers caressing the expressions of joy,
Wonders beyond beautiful,
Wonders colored in hues of musical,
Smiles and wisdoms, portrayed by the tender,
Sensitive like a feeling….
In the still, cool waters,
Rushing past the embankments, sprinkling
Soundless sprays, liquid praise
Streaming past the forests, the woods
Filled with clarity, quiet lights,
Blessings that remind the spirit to smile,
Remind the feelings to bleed,
Through the ebony waves, nocturnal
Peace echoing with the graceful clinging,
Craving a whispering sigh, delicate
Like the light softly playing,
Keeping the moments in sight…
Blessings, brought to life on the heart,
Who hears the wings, graceful,
Lifting, fluttering, swaying, never vain,
But always able to make a change in the ways…
A heart and soul thinks… sings… sees…
The reflection of God’s love in the peace
That surrounds the one who knows Him,
As He is… the only ONE who is a living Savior,
Redeemer and Deliverer, King of Kings,
The ONLY ONE WHO IS… my Everything,…
Jesus is the only reason I believe… in love
That continues to bring the soul its peace!
With the tremulous dark vista so far and yet so near
Abandoning my defences ~ I stand in awe ~ not in fear
Virtuoso Maestro unleash
a Composition Grandioso
To Overtures of a Symphony
herald the raging storming Tempo
Staccato Strains cascading
rapid torrents of Treble and Tremolo
Rhythmic Beats a Prelude
to an intensifying Triple Time Scherzo
Silken sail unfurled I embrace the storm of your tempestuous symphony
Crashing~ drifting~ floating~ flowing~ tasting ~awakening my melodic epiphany
Effervescent chilling thrilling air as
Allegro whelms Allegretto
Electrifying sizzling Musette ~
Trills a mesmeric Capriccio
Registers booming Bass Notes
rumbling within your thunderous Vibrato
Echoing claps of thunder Prompt
a spectacular Cadence Crescendo
I release my Spirit to gratify every phantasy in its sight
The soaring Tempest of my Soul liberates its own Philharmonic flight
Inhibitions abandoned as I succumb to your Music of the Night
Footnote:
By way of musical term allegory, I have endeavored to dramatize and romanticize the Awesomeness of an Electrical Thunderstorm and simultaneously likening it to the rush of tactual Sensual, Sexuality and Emotions experienced in romantic instances. I felt that the instrumental rendition of ‘The Phantom’ Musical, aptly accentuates the trepidation, anticipation and elating sentiments portrayed in the various elements of my poem.
Free my people from the chains that confine us
From the constant humiliation
And hurtful ways that blight us
Demeaning in purpose
Senseless in intent
Put down your tools of discord and relent
Bring us peace and harmony
And not the constant lament
Free my people from the bondage
Tethered around our necks
That you keep tightening
Causing pain in our mothers breast
Give us peace, let us rest
Let us illuminate the world
Of which we are blessed
Give us opportunities to be our best
Free my people from the maze
Of turbulence, denials, confrontation, and hate
That is inflicted from cradle to the grave
From the subjugation, that is laid
Cant you realize we are the same
Flesh and blood, love and hope?
Free my people so we can be a part
Of a cherished existence
One with a compassionate heart
Free from the strife that blight us
Distorting our existence and daily life
Its our privilege, its our right
Do not steal our glory
Or darken our light
Free my people of the lies
That is portrayed in history
Right before our eyes
Of our glory that is taken
Now heads bowed, we are broken
From the constant onslaught
Of a negative design
That has unhinged our people
Leaving them behind
Free my people from the wanton evil
That is not of god but of the devil
Not of the scriptures, but of a time
When indiscretions and frailties ruled your mind
We call on you to be just
Open your minds, with mutual trust
The pigmentation of the skin is of nature
So how can you praise god
And despise his creation?
For the diversity it heaved
From it's spores, it's seeds
As nature replicates its difference
Why not celebrate this beauty
Why not pay it reverence?
That of the one seed planted
Many trees and branches vaunted
Each a necessary part of expansion
Not to be made a tool of division
But a celebration of diversity of life.
A complex psychological poem of a vivid portrait of a person caught up in a morally wrong, intoxicating passionate affair.
Inescapable, aware of its moral and social implications, but still addicted.
It reads both like a love letter and a confessional piece.
Layered with dark beauty, guilt, defiance, desperation, and an intriguing question?
Can two cheaters ever be truly happy?
A theme portrayed endlessly in soaps, drama's, film but more realistically, life.
Well, what do you think?
Can two morally corrupt individuals live happily ever after?
Title.
The Affair.
(A lone voice whispers)
We always meet under the moonlights priceless silvery rays
We dance like entwined consummated eternal lovers
Forever engaged
Married insidiously by Father Darkness through our wicked salacious old ways
The thoughts of the world
and all outward consequences
Simply burn on our old relationships funeral pyres
And like grey smoke
Simply float away
Carried aloft by the cold now dystopian midnight air
This crazy relationship which once started as a Facebook and Twitter conversation, and
now such a thrilling, exhilarating irreducible dare
Is now my every living breathing prayer
This may last or may break
It may end in a heartbeat as we share a slice of the Devil's
delicious seductive cake
But you were always worth the risk and long waits
Your three words now just bind me and sing to me
Whenever my green eyes close
Three words within eight letters, I just love to hear
I love you
It just keeps me star-struck
Like a Hollywood big actor
Lost on your big screen projector
Regardless of our sins before God and humanity, and our unspoken marriage
As we ceremoniously slide through dark shadows like unseen lepers
I know we'll win and buy that beautiful dream, we often speak of together
For we're just one of the world's many unknown sinners
Swimming valiantly in one of life's many deep rivers
Holding tightly to each other as we sometimes struggle to breathe
Trying to be together forever
Whatever this judgemental
world believes or conceives
Married together insidiously
through our wicked ways
As we weave gaslighting Machiavellian plans
To always deceive

The resolution of my heart
exceeds electric exhibition,
desires finer definition

so every nuance saturates
that canvas where each life creates
its masterpiece of choices made:
those strokes of words
and deeds portrayed
outside the borders of a screen
where things unseen
subsist and mean
beyond a glassy lavish glow.
There's more to see, to show,
and know.
