Quarter past two
out to the loo.
Back into bed
laying my head
thoughts come to mind
worries to find.
Over I turn
but still they return.
All out of sorts,
why do these thoughts
infect and spread
beyond my head?
Stretching my ham
I'm seized with cramp.
Now in a sweat
from pain and threat,
when will its grip
release me to sleep?
With radio on –
Aleppo and Homs:
Barrel bombs blasting
chlorine – chaos -contorting.
Communities like ours
displaced, distressed, destroyed.
A paradox,
my conscience blocks.
Horror of war
opens the door,
takes me away
from my dismay.
Sleep overtakes
worry and aches.
If only they
could come away
and leave behind
bullets and mines
have food to eat,
a loo with a seat,
to sleep like me
at peace and free.
"Then there is no more left but this, that
in our doom the sorrow yet to come shall be no less
than the love we two have already known"
(Words of Heloise to Abelard after her pregnancy)
Like moon on nights of skies un-starred
she lived without her Abelard.
A parched still plain was Heloise -
like moon on nights of skies un-starred.
In death she would not lose regard
for him who’d been her rain and breeze.
Like moon on nights of skies un-starred,
she lived without her Abelard.
When Abelard put love away,
with Church he mightily aligned.
The world was not like ours today
when Abelard put love away.
Not even Heloise could say
were she to often cross his mind.
When Abelard put love away,
with Church he mightily aligned.

(based on one of the most interesting love stories
I have ever read: Abelard & Heloise)
We gave up our unity
With each and every barrier;
Abandoned integrity
Ushers in each disaster.
With our “narrow domestic walls”,
We all live in a cocoon;
Do we ever answer Nature’s call?
How do we expect her boon?
We defiled her to the utmost;
Aye! We love to hate;
With our unpremeditated boast,
We’ve brought in such a state.
We endeavoured to 'modernise'
This world of ours;
Nature will now all traumatise;
No lenience of flowers.
Corona’s raid,
Amphan’s dread
Turns us all afraid;
Once, Nature bled.
It’s time, it’s time,
When we must get unified;
Unity should chime,
Else we’ll get more petrified.
It’s the moment, it’s the moment,
When we all must sympathise;
To get rid of such confinement,
Let’s this earth re-naturalise.
With Pride, Envy, Lust,
We’ve made this earth an inferno;
With Greed, with Disgust,
We do suffer the bleeding blow.
One good deed a day,
At least, if we do,
We’ll keep the storms away;
We’ll feel ever-new.
Let’s renovate each thought;
Let’s renovate our aspect;
Things won’t be brought to naught;
Let’s love, and unite, and respect.
Sometimes I feel broken down into fragments,
future that cannot mend.
I feel myself slipping into a dark void,
into an abyss yesterday created.
I am all grown up now, and mysteries
unravel in the face of reality.
What seemed doomed has gained life,
and buried mistakes have taken a toll on me—
a hard revenge against what we created.
What our hands created—a thing we called ours,
because we partook in making it—
a co-creation that became
a gazette desert of nightmares and hallucinations,
things of a demonic fantasy world.
I now dream of spring fields,
summer chaos,
the ninth of July,
and all we meant when we said we loved each other—
which was all a lie.
I still imagine how you’d knot my tie,
or prepare an apple pie for breakfast.
How we joked we’d die if we weren’t together,
how you’d cry on your bed at night
because I couldn’t be there to cuddle you till morning.
And yet, you hoped everything would be alright.
I was too frail, lost in daydreams,
too blinded by your love.
Your beautiful eyes made me a puppet
when you stared into my soul.
I felt magic all over me.
I felt love.
I got lost in your world of fantasy—
where you held me frozen with your angelic touch,
the melody on your sweet lips.
How could I not see?
How could I fail to see the world through an angle of sanity?
How could I not realize that all was vanity?
The world we created was never meant to be.
How could I not hear
the reverse of the songs we danced to,
the betrayal behind the kiss in the rain?
How could I not realize
we were just living in a fantasy world we created
No one knows the depth of pain I’ve endured
Endured unimaginable hardships
God wishes to use these things
To help other hurting people
If it will help someone else
Then I will gladly endure
God trusts us with pain and hardships because he knows we will use what we have learned
To show someone else there is hope, there is a way out.
Help set the captives free
Jesus was in chains so ours could be broken
He was beaten and mocked and sometimes so are we
He was in prison and so we could be set free from our own prison
Prisons come in many forms, the prison of your mind, the prison of your body and the prison of our soul and a physical prison.
The chains that bind you must be loosed in Jesus name
God came to set you free
Grab and take a hold of his hand
He will take you through eternity
His hand is unchanging and unfailing
He will never leave your or forsake you
Men may have left you in despair
This is not so with God
For He will always be there
Let's weave a tapestry of moments, threads of laughter, and whispers of sweet nothings. In the ebbs and flows of life, let's find the ways to reignite the flame that burns bright within. Let's chase the sunshine, hand in hand, and dance under the stars, hearts beating as one.
In the whispers of the night, let's share our dreams, our fears, and our desires. Let's be the refuge, the safe haven, where love resides. We'll play hide and seek, and pillow fights, and laugh until our sides ache, our hearts overflowing with joy.
We'll be the kids we once were, carefree and wild, exploring the world with wonder, and finding magic in the mundane. We'll be best friends, confidants, and partners in crime, sharing secrets and stories, and making memories that will last a lifetime.
We'll laugh, we'll cry, and we'll love, deeply, unconditionally, and without apology. We'll support each other's dreams, and lift each other up, when the road ahead seems uncertain. We'll be each other's rock, our love a beacon of hope, guiding us through life's storms.
We'll take the road less traveled, and discover hidden treasures, and make memories that will forever be etched in our hearts. We'll care for each other, with kindness, compassion, and love, and we'll grow together, as one, in perfect harmony.
This love of ours is a flame that burns bright, a flame that will guide us, through the darkest nights, and light our way, to a future, filled with hope, joy, and love. Let's sweeten up our love, every day, and cherish this gift, that we've been given, this love, this life, this beautiful, messy, wonderful life.
I feel it, I always do
the silence before you hang up
the last day before I see you again
the emptiness of the word night
after you wish me goodnight.
I feel it, I always do
the warmth that stays after your hug
your heartbeat when we hold hands
the ache of missing you
before you're even gone.
I feel it in the little things
the empty bed, the untouched laundry
the way my fingers curl around nothing
searching for the shape of you.
I feel it in the space beside me
where your laughter should have been
in gossips that used to be ours
now just stories I giggle to alone.
I feel it in my late night chats
too quiet without your messages
in the messages I start to type
then delete, because what’s the point?
I feel it, even when I shouldn’t
even when I tell myself not to
even when the world keeps moving
but I am stuck in the space you leave behind.
She is not the broken echo of a single night,
Not the shadow stitched to silence by a stranger’s crime.
There is no adjective in violence,
Only the hollow echo of something stolen. Never her.
She walks with light that never asked for permission.
Her breath, though once held hostage, now sings louder than shame.
No name they gave her can bind her spirit,
No story etched in the past tense can claim her future.
They say “a raped girl” as if the world paused there.
As if the stars don’t still bend to trace her beauty,
As if her laugh doesn’t resurrect wildflowers from cement,
As if she is only what happened, not who rises after.
She is still the girl who danced in moonlight
Before the world dared to try and silence her song.
She is still the woman who weaves gold from grief,
Still, the voice that turns weeping into wind.
We do not carry wounds as names.
We do not become the verbs that broke us.
We are flame, not ash. Storm, not ruin.
This body, this breath, this life: wholly, fiercely ours.
So speak of her as you would of thunder,
Not because she was struck,
But because she never stopped roaring.
Our love is true.
Our lives are through.
Now I am with you.
Now I can hold you.
My love for you
Had always knew
Here is where we'll be anew.
Our love was true.
Our lives are through.
Now you are with me,
Now you are all I see.
Your love for me
Filled me with glee.
Paradise our home to be.
Our love so true,
Our lives continue on through.
Now I embrace you,
Now I am filled with grace.
His love for you and I
Has given us wings to fly
Through His Kingdom's sky.
Our love is true.
Our lives are through.
Now we thrive in eternal sleep,
Now we're alive, Heaven ours to keep.
We’re all born with a conscience and wherever we go in life
our conscience comes along.
It’s that voice inside our head that lets us know
If what we’re doing is right…or if it’s wrong.
As we grow…if we listen closely to the voice we hear
it’s not always the same voice that whispers in our ear.
Sometime it’s our parents, sometime our grandparents
sometimes it’s one voice…sometimes more…
and sometimes it’s a voice or voices…we’ve never heard before.
The Native Nation people believe these are the voices of our ancestors
who walked on but are not dead…
That they are somewhere watching over us
and it’s their voices we hear inside our head.
These voices contain our ancestors wisdom
which they’re hoping to impart…
and are meant to guide us toward an open mind,
a gentle soul
and kindness in our heart.
Their mission is to nudge us in the right direction
knowing the final decision is ours to make….
And when we don’t take their advice
their voices are there to help us learn from our mistakes.
More often than not when we listen to their voices…
our ancestors are happy with what they see…
and we find balance in our life
as we walk the path of peace and harmony.
But as I look around the world
and see so much hatred, prejudice and war…
I’m wondering if when it comes to our ancestors voices
we should be listening to them a little more.
