An ocean of people pulled by the moon
Frighteningly stand on foundations of sand.
A word deemed unkind will cause them to swoon
And so, by their hand, all dissent is banned.
Teetered precariously on their feels,
Not thinking it strange they constantly change.
Those thought against get no court of appeals,
No trial arranged, no pris’ner exchange,
No quarter, no mercy, no clemency,
And no kindness found, no mutual ground.
No one allowed simply to disagree.
But, they, too, are bound by rules that confound.
This can’t be good for our society.
Drowning beneath a wave of fantasy.

you crawled from the bottom
of tomorrow withered beneath
my feet the smell of forgotten
earth arose bountiful cruelty
emerged my mind craved awful
goodness standing before me
a hidden figure moving behind
the darkness legs unevenly bent
backwards standing there with
broken blood stained wings a tear
as hard as tar remained on your
cheek who are you why are you
here filled with dreary contempt
faintness shyness bestowed such
a tyrant entity taunting me with
childlike eyes beckoning my mothers
instinct to nurture this creature of
darkness my mind said don't do not
covenant nor comfort the muses of
norse ravenlike energy look away and
yet the dry warm breeze gathered
from your heavy breathing seated
in a mystic garden sprouting inside
my bedroom Odin standing over me
i whisper you must please go now
you're not supposed to be here
knowing full well tomorrow is near
Snow flurry
Furious hurry
Battering against my skin
It’s artificial
Shavings off something real
The cold would have been less cutting
Whirling soundless wind
I’m upside down
With no direction within grasp
Until I’m allowed to fall down again
Nobody to stop the descent
The settling never lasts long before
An invisible hand, cruel or indifferent,
Shakes and shakes and shakes
Upheaval
Nothing to cling to
Just swirling, purposeless
Three things to see, when I don’t focus on me:
Others caught in the cacophony
Beyond a veil of thick glass, lights twinkling dimly
In the dead centre of the violence, a baby.
Small, a fixed point in it all
Promises and secrets plainly hidden
Steady face, symbol held in place
Though naughty hands tried to break him
So let it snow!
Let it all go.
I am dancing
Knowing nothing
Discovering Everything
Receiving that which is never shaken
Merlin indeed was a magical cat
With long flowing robes and a pointy blue hat.
He came into town on a Harley one day
With a gleam in his eye and the look of a stray.
His head, shiny bald, but his face full of hair;
A few weeks’ provisions seemed to be lodged there.
He rolled that big hog right into the park
And lit a small fire to hold back the dark.
Then he opened a saddlebag, got his guitar,
Leaned back on that bike, and hummed a few bars.
The old girl had slipped; she wasn’t immune,
So he tweaked a few pegs, and he got her in tune.
With a voice that was old when the world was still young,
He sang to the stars in a strange, wondrous tongue.
It seemed like the mountains responded in kind,
A rumbling, purring sound, vaguely feline.
You’d have sworn the ground opened, because just like that,
Old Merlin was surrounded by a chorus of cats.
They joined to the purring and matched pitch somehow,
A deep-throated rumble, not a cry or “meow”.
Now you’ll think I’m repeating a tale told by wives,
But all of these cats had lost all of their lives.
As he called out their names in a voice clear and strong,
They floated off skyward in the strength of that song.
It seemed time stood still out there under the dome,
But he played, and he played, and he sent each cat home.
When the last one had disappeared out in the stars,
His voice drifted off, he put up his guitar,
Got back on his bike and left just like that;
Merlin indeed was a magical cat.

Deceit of sun when rays are still but porous;
unwelcome thief, afford my dream more seconds.
Some dappled shadows flit through mystic keyhole;
alight upon pellucid remnant image.
I stifle yawn as thoughts embrace the vision.
My ever-restless spirit merits story
which doesn’t evanesce at first obstacle
encountered when issues foisted upon me.
Embarked on travels, trinkets of high finesse
that crossed the boundaries of reality.
The past firmly imbedded in the future,
illuminating a path predictable and
imbued with fantasy and peccant grandeur.
Adroitly I manoeuvred through initial
self-doubt that plagued a multitude of people.
Circumlocutory whim of eidolon
expertly gathered evidence to support
demand that’s straddling realms, but I will resist.
I read the missive through and then carefully
enfold my dreams in cocoon, preserving them.
Unpleasant facts I spat out like an obol
that’s placed under tongue of recently deceased.
The critics can wait with Charon for day of
reckoning – future set aside for visions.
My dreams swim at the edge of river’s conscience.
Expectations made dreams luminesce brightly,
but withered in morning sun’s naïve splendour.
Like sands in the hourglass, the grains of wisdom
filtered through consciousness and needled thinking.
I set aside the search for epiphany.
There is someone who's placed a rose,
The rose inside my heart,
My love for him blossoms and grows,
For he's so sweet and smart,
Each day he tries out antics new
To gain our attention,
With him around, one can't be blue,
His love's no pretension,
This rose within my heart's for him,
Blooming brighter each day,
He makes me laugh when I am grim,
And troubles melt away,
He was little, but now grown tall,
Never knew how time flew,
For him, this poem rose, I scrawl,
For my loving nephew.

???THE WILD'S GREATEST PARADOX???
In twilight depths where shadows play,
Two forms of majesty stroll side by side like stray,
The jaguar's golden light, the panther's dark disguise,
One spirit, two faces, in mystic compromise.
With melanism's gift, the panther's born in forest jars
A midnight coat, dressed in night, smooth candy bars.
While sunlight dances on the jaguar's golden hide, ??
Together they roam, in jungle's mystic tide.
Beauty and terror mix in perfect blend,
Clarity and mystery, as day and night contend,
In contrast's harmony, nature's balance reigns,
A paradox of power with dual, mystic refrains.
Through jungle's underworld, they stride with ease,
gods of the wild, in majesty, their fear made the prey freeze,
Their footsteps quiet, on the forest floor as hush night,
A credo to nature's dual & wondrous might.
In a world divided, nature's unity, in the wild, shines
Through contrasts merged, & in division harmony aligns.
Power wears many faces in the jungle's mystic land,
A testament to jungle duality, they both take a stand.

True freedom is the freedom
beyond the shackles of the physical self
when the consciousness is not curtailed
by the inability of the body,
when thoughts do not encounter
the limitations of human laws
or doctrines of half baked religious wisdom.
when purity of thought is judged
not by fear of punishment
but in the total honesty of its universal value!
when feelings are not tethered to the self
but have a vision of the whole,
where ego ceases to be because it
has merged with the greater consciousness!
when you do not wait for tomorrow
for it will never be because
yesterday never was.
True freedom is when now is now
and the only voice is silence!
there are no commands
and you flow confluent with
the boundless truth
that you always were
but have now realised!

Incessant din of jammed highways
suddenly lulled to deserted streets
quiet of rustle forlorn breeze plays
laughter of birds, smiling sun greets
diamond dews glisten ruby petals
on a palette of piano, poetry muse
in slow drench, rain falls and settles
as fragrance flows wisteria avenues
soft chimes within, no temple bells
moments of now, create my world
in solitude with nature, a divine spell
counting cosmos, in stardust swirled
wild waves pacified in peace of shore
graceful moonlight, sunbeams in calm
can hear beats in my deep heart's core
a tranquil meditation, my sorrow's balm.
sentinent of truth, has burned all my vigil
fears vanished, no sound of human strife
in viscous sedation, I enjoy a mystic sigil
arcane power, I have fallen in love with life.

Tomorrow is a promised day
All full of hope - fireworks array.
New paths to take - we're on our way
Choose this - choose that, our right of way.
We'll make things right what we've put off
Starting new things and lightly scoff
At why we've waited far too long
To sort out things where we belong.
The sun is bright and makes us feel
All is all right - a top card deal.
The rain clouds in the distance are
Of no concern - not ours by far.
And yet in mystic other ways
Tomorrow is a strange display
That causes us to scratch our head
And contradicts the things we've said:
Tomorrow is another day
It's just like any other day
But filled with things we can't explain
Or won't - to tax our addled brain.
We look, we see, we turn away
And rue the view from day to day.
We wonder how things got this way
Although we shroud the part we play.
Tomorrow's role - we can't defend -
"Creeps in this petty pace" my friend,
And yet that fact should not prevent
Some measure of accomplishment.
Today we'll look to other things -
for every gift tomorrow brings.
And, in this timely way to be
We'll recompense our sanity.
