We got married on October tenth of nineteen seventy-one.
We had a great honeymoon, lots of giggling, and a lot of fun.
We actually eloped, and were married by a really nice judge.
I wore a brown velvet dress, the color of caramel fudge.
I thought that life could never ever be better than this.
No one got upset if we cuddled, nestled or wanted a kiss.
There was a lot of cuddling, and kissing, and other stuff too.
We had lots of fun, alone, in a cabin in sweet Kalamazoo.
We had no idea back then that we would be married forever.
We went in to it thinking it would be a rather short endeavor.
I do not think at age nineteen you think about ever being old.
We were happy together, as you can see, this tale now told.
I think we spoke of children, and thought they would almost be small.
I know we remarked on my shortness as he is quite tall.
We told stories, ate potato chips and laughed about lots of stuff.
Whatever we had in common that day, it really must have been enough.
Love is like a River
It just flows and ebbs along it seems
One day passion rises like a torrent
Another it just trickles like mountain streams
Sometimes times love can just be bumpy
Like a boat ride would be at times
Other times it can be fast and furious
Just like when the nearby church bell chimes
But love can be a wonderment
To be with us all our days
And have that some special in your life
Just like the love song says
As we ride the rivers waters
Metaphorically speaking, at least that’s a thought
And make the most of what we have
Love is free, it’s never bought
Like a river love in endless
Will run and run and run
At least it will if you make it work
Full of feeling and lots of fun
So next time you pass a river or stream
Just think about the water and what it can represent
Because nothing brings more pleasure into your life
Than what these three words mean in their content
Day was very sunny,
Old Jet felt so funny,
Old black lab, muzzle grey,
His family off to work today,
Old Jet lay down to sleep,
Left alone, watchdog to keep,
His gait was slow,
Not much get up and go,
Jet slumbered on,
Not too long,
His canine dreams bemusing,
Flashbacks Old Jet perusing,
Brilliant happy companion days,
Lots of fun and rambling plays,
Ben was his best loved lad,
Now his unofficial dad,
Jet's loyalty never wavered,
Yes, Ben he always favoured,
Pats and hugs and lots of snacks,
All kindness, time to relax,
Old Jet's breathing slowed,
Snoring on, time to go,
Asleep in the sun, one deep sigh,
No one home to say goodbye,
No drama, no fuss,
Old Jet's no longer with us,
His long life was over,
Puppy Heaven for old rover,
Old Jet had breathed his last,
Finally, Old Jet had passed.
We loved the lollipops, cracker jacks, and Holloway candy sticks. We adored the chocolate-coated ice cream bars and the tootsie rolls.
We could not get enough of pop sickles, cool aids, and soda pops.
We sang a love song saying, “Ice cream, soda water, cream on top, tell me the name of your sweetheart”. We had the best-tasting cookies and cigarette candies that eyes had ever seen. We were just poor kids in America’s poorest state, but no kids were sweeter than us. Hot as fire, hassled and harassed by humidity and drops of sweat; but we were sweet, not from
our good-natured personalities but from the sweets that we ate.
Life was hard in my little Mississippi Delta town; But somewhere between hard work and chores; between feeding the chickens and the cows; between feeding the goats and the hogs; between watching TV and doing homework;
between the sun ups and the Sundowns; and between the dawn and the dust;
Yes, in between, we found time to play. Most times we were okay, didn’t go astray, and had lots of fun in the barns, playing in the hay.
We rolled rubber tires like we were driving fast cars; laughed out loud as we sucked whining balls. Money was always lacking, but we did our share of licking, chewing, and sucking the sweet stuff. We bought a lot for the few pennies, nickels, and dimes that we had. We could buy our treats cheaply back then. So, we did our best to stay sweet, chewing bubble gum filled with sugar. We didn’t have a care and learned how to share, and the sweet stuff was always there. 013008PSContest, Childlike Fun, Caren Krutsinger, 2P
Verse 1
Adam was in the garden
And looking very sad
The Lord asked him, what was wrong
And this is what he said
You’ve created a lovely garden
And all the animals too
But when, I’m feeling lonely
Lord, what am I to do
Pre - Chorus
It’s a friend I need
A friend indeed
A loving gentle guide
To help me through my day
A companion by my side
Verse 2
The Lord came up with a solution
After thinking it through
He said, I’ll put you to sleep
Cause’ you’re unique
And this is what I’ll do
Yeah’ I’ll take a rib from you
I’ll make you someone special
Loving, faithful and true
Chorus
And God created women
Their beauty next to none
Now theirs none in the garden
And the devils' on the run
Verse 3
So God created woman
With such beauty, grace and fair
Everything the man desired
And she would do and dare
She was very understanding
And God bought her unto him
Adam said I'll name her Eve
And God looked and grinned
Chorus
And God created women
Their beauty next to none
Now theirs none in the garden
And the devils' on the run
Verse 4
Now the Lord sternly warned them
About the tree of knowledge
It stood in the mist of the garden
It was good and evil porridge
He said the day you eat of it
You will surely die
But that devil had a cunning plan
Cause he was slick and sly
Chorus
And God created women
Their beauty next to none
Now theirs none in the garden
And the devils' on the run
Verse 5
Now both were in the garden
And having lots of fun
Until that slimy snake
Enticed Eve with one
So she took a bite of the apple
Giving some to him
And Adam knew in an instant
They had fallen into sin
Bridge
So God made a rescue plan
Seeing what Satan had done
He said I'll send a redeemer
Christ my only begotten son
Chorus
And God created women
Their beauty next to none
Now theirs none in the garden
And the devils' on the run

Children’s Christmas Flight
Gold bells sounded through the snow
Calm in memory above the Christmas glow
Girls and boys lined up just after lunch
Out in the school yard to meet Santa Claus
He landed in a supersonic crunch
Softly on the deepening snow
In a stealth space ship with toys and candy
Permission slips from each child’s parents
Were collected by the tiny elves
Before they entered the ship
To fly around the world
This was no ordinary trip
Santa wanted to take them all to Mars
And out among the stars
But he remembered what time it was
The clock struck Christmas right on the dot
Being jolly, quick, and good old St. Nick
Santa laughed with a Ho Ho Ho in red and white
Told the children, “This is Christmas night.”
Visiting stars and Mars will have to wait
Santa will be working hard and late tonight
He touched his bright red cheek to speak
“Who wants to go to Disney World with me?!”
There were twenty children there
Santa counted twenty hands plus plus
Some children raised two hands, to get the voting right
You can never vote too much
Santa retired the reindeer but only for one year
They have families too, living in Alaska and Timbuktu
Their vacation time was long over due
The new sled is this super stealth flying ship
It moves faster than a lightning bolt
We’ll all have lots of fun and then return you home
Before you even know it
Santa will have to return to work
No time for playing on planets or moons
So you better go to sleep real soon
Santa’s coming with toys for you!

Sun’s soulful smile swells boundlessly
while the sky mirrors the clear blue sea.
Seashore blends with the ebbs’ rolling voices
Sifting, swaying to and fro
as beach-goers barge in.
Humid air blows gently around
On white dunes with parasol mounts
Picnics with lots of fun abound
Excursionists are hard to count.

I’m in touch with the dark side of Pink Floyd
This classic album is one you should not avoid
Needle placed on the record, and I hear the first track
The music speaks to me and I keep coming back
Time passes and I breathe as I listen to on the run
The great gig in the sky sure sounds like lots of fun
When I stare at the prism on the album cover
Its design is so unique, quite unlike any other
A prism will create any colour you like
Rock music appeals to guys on their motorbike
I don’t need a lot of money to listen to this band
Floyd’s music eclipses all other, I'm sure you understand

Waddle with me in a downpour of rain
Singing in a symphonious refrain
Jumping in puddles, splashing everyone
Simply because we will have lots of fun.
We'll fluff up our feathers, inhale fresh air
Twist and shake until we have no breath there
Because we are smarties, we have it cracked
And expertly do a ducky class act.
One two and then quack, one two and then splash
Allow alluring eyelashes to flash
Look to the left and then look to the right
Dancing and prancing from morning to night.
Then we can dream elating ducky dreams
In the wondrous world of fantasy themes
Arriving there, surely one can't do wrong
Waddling to the tune of a ducky song.
Take me to those precious moments in time
Where I once held you oh so close
And your lips passionately touched mine
Take me to the time when my eyes would see your face
Where we knew on sight no matter where
Our bodies would embrace
Your smell still lingers in my mind, take me back to the time
Take me to the days where I would sit on your cart
Trash can and even in your car
And get lost in the moment of just being where you are
Take me to the night when you softly kissed my breast
When I felt comfort in you arms and laid my head upon your chest
Listening to your heartbeat, I knew this love was real
Take me to no movement where time with you stood still
Take me to where I seek God and pray
Lead me Father guide my steps and show me the right way
Take me to the minute my life would forever change
And let us live in love and peace right there on Happiness Lane
Take me to where I am right now, believing in the reward
The power is in the prayer so for me the test not hard
Take me to the future where we'll be together as one
Where we'll travel and our journey will be filled with lots of fun
Joy, laughter and many great times
Yeah, take me to the day when you will be all mine
Take me to God in whom I solely trust
Take me to the time where in our world it is "Just Us"
