let’s hike up to the druid arch!
i am less than enthusiastic
let’s drive to it I suggest
grandma! you can’t drive there!\
we do a little encyclopedia research
druid arch is one hundred and fifty foot tall
impressive in the middle of nowhere
it is a cedar mesa sandstone reminder
of the Permian period
san dune deposited 245 million years ago
it is located at the head of elephant canyon
in canyonlands national park,
San Juan County, Utah
The hike there is eleven miles out and back
I get out my running shoes and my walker
hoping my granddaughter can push two hundred pounds in the arizona sand
In conclusion to "Not Guilty Vol.I" I made it
threw the storm I'm fresh out the desert I been
delivered from my spouse and I thank God for that,
in every dark cloud there's that silver
lining God may not have come when I called
but it was perfect timing, I'm right where I
wanna be so yeah I'm fine I made threw
the test look how far he's brought me yeah I'm
blessed I must confess so to the jury my testimony
is concrete so I'm asking you what's
next? Shall I settle for less dare I dance with
the devil again...naw, that chapter is so see
threw some things are best left in my rear view
should I go back and fall into despair, should
I shed tears in vain I assure you I'm not the
same man I was, it takes two to fall in love
nevermind who I pulled the rug from under
who can actually get mad at me for doing what's
best for my son all of a sudden, these people
get relations twisted from actually true loving
so I could care less who's upset wit my decision
I'm still not guilty she just fell in lust wit my
seductive sentences regardless of who's listening
to my reason her season is over, them
flowers have withered this man of God is healed
even threw the pain I went threw, true the
door was locked so I had to find that secret window
yeah I'm a laugh now while she cry later
matter fact lets get it where's my divorce papers
Gravity what is this force that keep us here
that stops our feet from touching air
Gravity, scientist's search
for the physic's gravitron
yet perhaps I think
their search might be in vain
Could it be the atom
where thoughts of force remain
the atom circles endlessly
with flowing rings of life
electrons flow around it
in different numbered strings
the valence energy levels
hydrogen links with oxygen
that's H2O to you
two hydrogen one oxygen
creates the water zone
with hydrogen
The levels build
with just an only one
the valence energy level
has just one single particle
just one electron searching
looking to complete
it's searching for another
and links with oxygen
oxygen has eight
The first level is complete
but now
it's more confusing
now there's level two
valence level two
Now seeks eight to be complete
oxygen has six and wants two more to share
two one's from hydrogen
and six from oxygen
with eight they're into sharing
and water is there name
but wait lets stop perhaps that wrong
maybe not complete
perhaps there's just a little more
the atom seeks to meet
a mild trace of energy
a mild form of pull
a gentle slight attraction
perhaps we've yet to meet
gravity's attraction
a mild form of force
could matter attract matter
could that be the simple source
the earth is made of matter
attracting us to it
The moon is just a sixth it's size
and gravity is weak
but then is space a vacuum
and empty bottle sucks
you empty out a bottle
and it suck towards itself
the earth would be in motion
the vacuum out in space
is pulling us towards it
well earth is pulling back
around and round in circles
around and round we go
opposing forces virtues
create's the life we know
granted Albert Einstien
believed it wasn't so
He believed that gravity
was formed from space and time
the curvature of space he said
created gravity
I have my doubts I think about
the atom all the time
I think the atom takes the prize
creating what we need for life
I push the tall-legged hard thing next to the water thing, and pick up the blue thing.
It’s sticky, and sudsy, and fun. I pour it all on the dishrag on the counter, over the carefully washed bottles, over shiny hard things, and some soft squishy yellow things. Bubbles are coming off the counters now, and they are pretty.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING? Uh-oh. I jump down and the chase is on. Nona is old. She probably can’t catch me. I lead her up stairs, and dive into a pile of laundry, where she does not find me until I laugh.
Being twenty-two months, means I am muscular, strong-willed, fast, and determined to make at least five more messes before Nona forces me into the room full of pillows, and we both pretend I’m going to close my eyes.
In the time it takes Nona to put these pieces of cloth back into the clothesbasket, I have wormed my way out from under her legs, and I’m poking Mommy’s make up out of their little metal tins.
Nona glares at me when she discovers this, wraps all the make up in a plastic sack, and tosses it into the garbage. I know Mommy would be angry about this, if she knew, but I don’t have words yet. And I doubt Nona is going to tell how she’s failing as a volunteer.
By the time Nona catches up with me, I have slid down the stairs on my bottom, dumped the Monopoly game on my way through the living room, and smacked my three-year-old brother with an orange plastic bat. Together in temporary solidarity, we are both now smashing marshmallows and Lucky Charms into a big plate of sticky gooey brown stuff we found on the counter. It is cold, and squishy, and the Lucky Charms look funny in it.
Uh-oh. Here comes Nona. She’s on the phone now, saying something about her meatloaf.
In a red minute my brother and I are behind the couch, crouched low, hiding.
This drives her crazy when she lets it.
That stupid giggle gives us away, and we get dragged out.
We can’t go to bed yet!
Who will teach Nona how to open every child-proof lid and lock she’s put around this messy house?
Everyone back there move up front come on don't be shy
All of us have that common want as none of us can deny
I just say don't be afraid and never, never be ashamed
No one will be receiving a grade all shall remain unnamed
First, a little Praise to start, and lets open those eyes wide
Feel the burn in your heart that's the melting of such pride
Lets reach down for one more, something truly heartfelt
Now open up that door and feel all of that stuff just melt
The next exercise I will show is really just one in the same
It's when we let ourselves know that Jesus took all our blame
Vision Him taking all of our blame and sense all of that pain
Now sing out His Glorious Name come on, I said don't be shy
For here there is never any shame in needing Jesus to get by
Okay there's an assignment tonight, find one star in the sky
And thank Him for His might without ever asking Him why
Just like in class today we want to concentrate on His praise
That's the start, to pray, okay everyone see you in a few days
Don't forget to pick up your cell phones at the door.
Dear Diary..
I was going to tell you about this new obsession of mine..
We are past the turbulent early moments, when you examine the balance sheet of opinions and prejudices and have begun to explore each other - that most intimate verbal art.
Lets see.. He has a sharp and attentive mind not given to easy answers… I can’t wait to hear his opinion. He has a great sense of humor, (Is that because he thinks I'm funny?) and is so cool, but so NOT stuck on himself.
Love is like drama, everything is at stake, everything can happen, the center shifts and things, which have come to decorate the margins of our lives, can be embraced. The psychological interior rearranged. So it is with me now.
I must learn a greater detachment. I am far too willing to give emotional credit to this guy I have only known for weeks.
Whatever graceful tension I have managed to achieve between innocence and experience fades in the clinch and like a medieval magician, trying to capture the immense sea with a single spell, I long to steal a kind of happiness I know I'm not even slightly ready for.
I suppose I'm just a fool for love! =]

A song for this:
Fools Rush in by Bow Wow Wow

an early, high school diary entry 2017ish
She can see...
that he cries within
that his exterior edge
hides a lover from within.
She continues to see him
in a whole new light...
She loves him completely
and with delight.
She comforts him
and lets him know
that the past is the past
and that he should let it go.
She understands him freely
and she can trully see
what he is right now
and what he could be.
She sees him and she knows him...
and she sees that he cries within...
and that his tough exterior
hides all the hurts within.
She knows she holds the keys
to unlocking all his doors...
to unfolding his mind...
to making him more...
And she knows him almost better
than he used to know himself...
because she sees his image
reflected in herself.
And she knows that he knows her
better than she thought...
and the fact he knows her better
than she knows herself
makes her love him all the more...
And he knows that she loves him...
more with each passing day...
He knows that shes been waiting for him...
for all of her earthly days.

Beautiful day
Ocean
Blue sky
A little piece of paradise
Beckoned by the waves
Come out and play
Frolic
Be a child again
Crash through my waves
Feel my strength
A perfect day
You feel in control
Your body so strong
As you ride along
Upon her waves
Exhilarated
Feeling free
Unaware of destiny
In a moment
A life can change
Sushine turns to rain
You don't feel anything
Not even pain
The ocean displays her darker side
Takes you on a different ride
You come crashing down
As her waves pound
Pushed in circles
Like a rag doll
We feel mighty before we fall
Soft waves become a wall
In a moment
From the corner of your eye
You see Jesus's face
As your heart keeps pace
Will he rescue you
You say a prayer
So glad he is there
All others unaware
Holding your breath
Unable to move
It's time to let go
What will happen you don't know
Yet you are not afraid
The lights go out
As you're tossed about
Jesus takes you in his arms
Rests you on the shore
Not in danger any more
The ocean lets out her roar
She is denied your soul
It's not added to her collection
You're under Gods protection
When you open your eyes
You are paralyzed
But still alive
Thankful
You can breath
See
Pray
Talk
You're placed in angels hands
A new adventure begins
Like a child again
Starting from the beginning
Not in control
On a journey to be whole
Learning to walk
Regaining what was lost
Willing to pay the cost
Working through the pain
Seeing the sunshine not the rain
You will be strong once again
You are in our Savior's hands
My friend Charlie went on a holiday to Hawaii with his girlfriend and on the second
day while body surfing he was taken by a wave and crashed on the bottom he had no
feeling below his neck and could not move any part of his body. Out of the corner of
his eye he saw Jesus as he was being tossed about. He could no longer hold his breath
and blanked out. Before he knew it he was waking on the beach and people were
coming to help him. Miraculously after a day feeling and movement started returning
to him. He is on the road of recovery and is now walking and moving about. He is
truly a walking miracle.
A real woman holds her family strong
Possesses much power under her arms
A real woman lets nothing stand in her path
Dose what she’s told no questions asked
According to tradition…..
I’m not a real woman, are you?
A real woman thinks of everyone else
Puts them all before herself
A real woman place is in the kitchen
Never talks but always listens
According to tradition…..
I’m not a real woman, are you?
A real woman has no dreams
Her dreams are reality
A real woman tends to her family’s needs
But can never be free
According to tradition…..
I’m not a real woman.....nor will i ever be!!
A real woman must tend to her husband
No matter how un-loving
A real woman holds her pain inside her
Even when pain sits right besides her
According to tradition…..
I’m not a real woman…..nor will I ever be!!!

My doctors, by omission, lied to me.
They had me take a drug I didn’t need.
It does no good; that drug’s a travesty.
Injections twice a year I’d get for free,
so to their “sage” advice I then agreed.
My doctors, by omission, lied to me.
Rare side effects I never could foresee,
but they’re online for anyone to read.
It does no good; that drug’s a travesty.
I trusted men because of their degree.
They’re full of crap. How could I ever heed
those men who by omission lied to me?
Their drug is used in chemotherapy!
That fact withheld from me was their dark deed.
It does no good and is a travesty!
To make bones strong?? I rant like a banshee
from Prolia’s effects – that demon seed!
My doctors, by omission, lied to me.
It does no good and is a travesty.
Dec. 23, 2018 for the Let 'Er Rip #2 Poetry Contest of John Lawless
If you or any woman you know is considering this drug for her bones, please read the parody of the Prolia commercial I put a link to above my poem. If only I had seen that parody before two years ago!! The greedy company Amgen is doing much more harm than good and the FDA just lets this "wonder drug" on through the gate. Denser bones, yes, but stronger no. A class action law suit has been won by people getting fractures months after going off Prolia because it makes holes in your bones and once you go off, you could get this horrible "rebound effect"!
