Birthday Limerick

On a cool October breeze in 1973,
A child was born with a blanket worn;
That baby was cute, little me.

Two days before Halloween,
The first things I have seen
Is nurses in white, hospital lights,
And my parents behind the clear screen.

Each year was the same
When the big day came.
I smile ear to ear whenever I hear,
"Happy birthday, Duane!"

I've always loved toys
Like other girls and boys.
But my happiness stopped
When I received new socks;
That took away all my joys.

Now I'm fully grown, sexy, and on my own.
Though things have changed
And are sometimes strange,
I'm grateful for the love my parents have shown.

I can hardly wait to celebrate year 48!
It's coming up soon,
But there's a question that looms
About the birthday gift debate.

I haven't decided yet on what I'd like to get;
But I want to be surprised when I open my eyes.
(Here's a hint: some cash and a pet.)

And for goodness sake,
There's a request I'd love to make:
I'm in the mood for homemade or take-out food;
Just don't forget my cake!

For a blessed hour to sleep and awaken in
your presence,
as the dusty antique grandfather clock chimes in
solemnity's hour of bereavement,
to whom I am enslaved, always.
My cherish of you in unquenchable fires, scorching,
undying,
as the netherworld's watchmen appear in the
eve shadows-
remnants of the years past joys and sorrows.

All of life's anguish of regrets,
of sweeter remembrances,
of seeking solace from the sympathy
of the saints,
as summertide's augustness begins
to weep farewell, fading.

I still hear your jeweled singing,
of dream travels through the expanse
of misted drapes of stars of a sapphire
and golden heaven-gate,
to have communion with you. ~

How To Destress In Modern Life Part 1

Part 1. How to destress in modern life
https://youtu.be/dzbLuLzMWE4

         A delicious languor steals over one
in the languid twilight falling over the meadow
Watching tiny animated spectrums
               whirring in the after glow
      Flitting among pretty petals
the gossamer-winged dragon-flies or mayflies
     Fluttering among delicate filaments
                  the fine and flimsy butterflies.
           Then also retire to admire
exquisite darting damselflies
All in all some of nature's soothing balms.
       Created by God Himself, Nature calms.

Divine holistic bonuses for relaxation...
        Look for getaways, away from
            city/town noise pollution.

                A lavender sprinkled jacuzzi,
rose petals and jasmines floating about
              like do lotus and lilies on ponds
right in your bubbly scented bubble-bath
As ambient soft gleams of moon beams
       seep in through translucent glass.
Luxuriate in the ephemeral,
                  inhale the aromatic
incenses of perfumery, oils and essential oils
      Bathe in invigorating spa, joys euphoric
         listening to choirs of cicada music
Relax and unwind in the famed Turkish Bath
wherein to indulge yourself
                 in steamy massage
    Complete with the charm of the exotic
even if you don't live in Turkey or aren't Turkish.
Nature and such baths all God created or inspired,
       and thus very very therapeutic...

Premium Member Degradation

As a lovely lotus, holding her head high, dooms to fade…
So is the fate of which damn degradation does invade!

When the angel of democracy murdered and muted,
Could politics provide people protection well suited?

When disruption of home and strife for living grow thriving,
Doesn't, like corroding steel, society go riving?

When caste, color, creed, and sects, like Rock walls, true growth obstruct,
Could we, midst so solid strife, succeed culture to construct?

Aren't riches, fading flowers, if fail to face poverty?
Could when hunger sky-scrapes, humans dream of joys plenty?

Who can save religions from fermenting fatality,
When, they shift from soul-strengthening spirituality?

When the air, water, soil, hills, vales... get wholly polluted,
Could the environment escape getting foully afflicted?

When inner harmony, easily, by changes challenged,
Could capture of pride by shame be so easily balanced?

Every sphere needs to move in so sequential symphony,
If not, could all live in life-casting cosmic harmony?

O 'ninakumbatia furaha ya maisha yako
Nitakumbatia furaha ya maisha;
Mungu amenipa;
Urefu wa maisha;
Na hatimaye ninatambua kuwa sasa niko huru;

Pokea furaha katika maisha aliyopewa na Mungu;
Kwa kweli kwa pumzi yake unapumua;
Furahi na kushangilia kwa vitu vyote;
Kwa maana Mungu huleta FURAHA kwa viumbe vyote
Haleluya-Halleluiah

O' I embrace to joy of your life
I will embrace to the joys of life;
God has given me;
Life longevity;
And I finally realize I'm now free;

Embrace the joy in the life God has given;
For truly with His breath you are breathing;
Be glad and joyous for all things;
For God brings JOY to all beings
Halleluiah

Premium Member Dear Santa

Dear Santa,

Christmas day is coming really soon,
I’ll have lots of toys, I’ll be over the moon.
What will you get me? I haven't a clue,
And I think I’m on the naughty list too.
Do you have an in between list? Is there?
If so, Dear Santa please tell me where.
I didn’t mean to be a bad little girl this year,
But I get it together when christmas is near.
Mom said to clean my messy room?
I’d rather play outside than push a broom.
And being a little mean to a little brother is my job,
But he doesn’t get it, he tells and begins to sob.
Santa I don’t think I should be on the naughty list
Can a good list, naughty list, and middle list coexist?
Is just has to, if not I don’t I think I will get anything,
And my little heart won’t be able to sing a thing.
When Christmas day finally came, I saw a gift for me,
I couldn’t believe I had anything under the huge tree.
It was a book on the joys of being a good big sister,
From the day on I was not mean to little Mister.
Each new year I got everything I wanted and much more,
But the gift on being a good big sister, I will always adore.

Thanks Santa

The Journey

Lyrical lines seem to lack the ability to keep my thoughts align to my heart
Nevertheless, to my one true love I write

From the separations of the night and the day, you were mine,
I searched all life till God bring you me.

My angel with heart-wings and brown skin
My purple rose in a garden of white
My joy for the sail
My beautiful-imperfection yet flawless

My heart reaches out to say *thank you*
For the joy you bring that cripples explanation
You are what I needed even when I knew not
You're my all in a gender with twin hills on the chest

I'm intrigued by the limitless joy you've brought into my heart
My harem is yours for a life-stay
I hope to do more joys with you till the end of forever
You're my lover for any lifetime

Tidal waves of hysteria grip even my common
Trips to Neptune, where all the joys of living
Collapse upon stellar outcomes, meant for
Human comfort

Cancer, disease, acts of random kindness
Pale when hope diminishes beyond control

Votes don’t matter, allegiance rings hollow
And enemies multiply beyond  commercial
Control

Again, look to the rising Sun, counted by the
Shades of the Moon… my resting place
Tucked sweetly in the arms of each passing day

Smiling for the color pink, lost
….in my embrace

                                        Lost

                                                   In my embrace

People

People
By Michelle Morris
28/08/2021

There are people we meet in life who we remember, always, with love and light;
Where you each move on through your own time and space,
And you sometimes check in to see that they're okay;
But we still drift on at the end of the day,
As we navigate our paths through destiny and fate...

But you never consider that one day they'll be gone...
For good...
Forever...
Gone...
And just like that, it's like a mourning song...

But still, life goes on and people survive their traumas,
Each dealing with things in their own sense of wonder;
And we try to hold on to the precious memories of the past -
The love, joys and triumphs overcoming the dark...

And yet, there are those people we meet in life who we remember, always, with love and light;
And no matter the time or space or dimension,
They stay part of your soul, beyond any comprehension...

Indian Summer

In the USA, within certain parts of the “south” there comes a time of year called “Indian Summer”, but other parts of the USA also use the term as well.

A delightful period of weather change which normally brings relief from the blast-furnace temperatures of the summer months and introduces the coming Fall, sometimes with a hint of Winter “thrown in” as a preview of “coming attractions”.

The chameleon leaves customarily change to vivid, wondrous shades of color - an artists’ shotgun blast of brilliant hues scattered across wide expanses of landscapes. It’s a fare-thee-well salute to the passing of summer, and a heralding announcement of the ensuing plethora of what will eventually become a flood of dead leaves.

During this period the sunrises are magnificent in their luminescing intensity and warming rays, and the sunsets compliment them with nearly exacting copies of themselves. Warmer clothing begins to appear on the populace in the early evening hours, when visible breaths become evident in the waning light of sunsets. Horse-drawn “hayride wagons” appear in the more rural areas, giving birth to the seasons’ joys.

The period lasts for only a few short weeks, just to set the stage for Homecoming Parades, some football games, and the Thanksgiving holiday. It’s a spiritually uplifting time for most, a welcomed respite for having made it through another year from last Thanksgiving.

It may be my favorite time of the entire year … hope it is for you, too.
