Premium Member The Legend of Rain: a Love Story

(this is a type of quatrain called Swap Quatrain,
wherein the fourth line of each stanza
is actually the first line, just swapped around)

Another Time, long long ago,
there was no Rain; there was no Snow.
No reason was there, and no rhyme
long long ago, another Time.

A desert only, lifeless land -
boulders, pebbles, grains of sand;
hot and windswept, barren, lonely
lifeless land; a desert only.

From Sky was tossed one day, a seed
onto this land so much in need,
whose dreariness would soon be lost.
One day a seed from Sky was tossed.

In Sun’s bright heat, the small seed grew
until an egg it changed into.
It needed only moisture sweet.
The small seed grew in Sun’s bright heat.

Sky clapped loud sound; a bird appeared.
The egg was pulsing as she neared.
White feathers fluttered to the ground.
A bird appeared; Sky clapped loud sound.

As Rain came down. . . A sudden change!
The bird turned into something strange -
A lovely girl with feathered gown!
A sudden change as Rain came down.

With Rain’s soft fall, the egg had burst.
Emerging from the egg came first
One horse, then two. Fantastical!
The egg had burst with Rain’s soft fall.

The horses grew beneath big Sun.
They thrived; with Rain they were as one.
Along with her, like Wind, they’d run.
Beneath big Sun, the horses grew.

Twin beasts and Rain, that dry land’s three
became a new world’s trinity.
And with them, green and springtime came.
That dry land’s three: twin beasts and Rain.

With so much spring, with Rain’s pure grace
came poetry into that place.
Bright flowers bloomed when she would sing
with Rain’s pure grace, with so much spring.

Variety, the needful thing,
Rain prayed out loud for Sky to bring.
And so was born for her to see:
the needful thing, Variety!

Then came down Snow from up above.
This counterpart was Rain’s true love.
When white Snow ebbed, sweet Rain would flow.
From up above, then came down Snow.

Sweet Rain, white Snow, atop each horse,
still ride the land and set the course
of when their seasons come and go.
Atop each horse, sweet Rain, white Snow.

Premium Member Flirtatious Moon

Just outside the window
a row of coned shaped trees bend their foolish heads
                                                       for her attention...
She can have her way with them...
yet, with such a wily nature, she passes over them,
and softly treads a path through the garden gate...
Her steps are light as dew, making not a sound...
as she hesitates to wake a slumbering rose...
and timidly brushes past a trellis of sleeping morning glories...

She peeks in, then slowly slithers through his open window, while he lies sleeping....
The angle of her glance makes his closed eyes flutter...
                                                                and he smiles....
Her appearance casts shadows on the far wall, as she stares across the room at him
    She tarries for a moment
A reflected image on the mirror spreads her silken white cloth...
He feels her move over him...
He is kissed by this welcome intruder, ...hypnotized by her charm, and her cool breath...
Dazzled by this embrace, he tosses the quilt, in restless dream....
She caresses so softly, filling his heart, and making him sigh...
He basks in her love, and lies in sweet gratitude in his sleepy state
                                                   enraptured with sweet contentment
Soaking up and drunk with the intoxication of her shine

Outside, a lonely eucalyptus tree is jealous...
Impatient and longing to feel such affection....
It's branches clamor against the glass, hoping to break her spell on him...

But, woefully....
angry clouds intrude to steal away the moment...
She runs and hides!

No longer does he feel the kiss,...the sweet lunar incandescence of her breath...
     The seduction of her glow...
Coolness and disappointment envelop him as darkness returns again...

And he is once again alone in the shadows of the dark
He must pull his blanket up, and dream of other lovers.....

Belly of the BEAST

In the dark mountain shadow
A fiery breeze coming from the East
Warmness is ripping up the sky
Hearing the sound of the Dragon Beast
Wings swimming in the air.

A sacrifice in motions
Hands wave in the air
Chanting and dancing
To the rhythm of a meal being prepared
Splitting flames above all shoulders
A virgin upon the master who stares
An event showered with a sacrifice
feeding the Beast with a virgin device
A Virgin so pure being prepared for the Beast
With sharp fangs that will feast on her innocent crest.

Clawing his grip upon her flesh
Away into the sky, as she took her last breath
In a distance the Dragon Beast, arrives in his domain
Detaching the virgins limbs, ready to steady his appetite
The beast devours into her tender and juicy meat
With a taste so sweet and ripe
Sinking his jaws in every bite
The fruit of the apple, did not full the dragons hunger
the virgin meat came with a foul taste of deceit.

Filled with an abysmal of rage
The beast set out to scavenge, the betrayal
With a heat that will send them all to their grave.
The broke vow of the virgin sweet tale.
Reveal the revenge how the dragon beast speared out.
His crackling fires upon all skin
Leaving a smell of brimstone to all who got in his way,
a hell he opened, with no mercy to pray
The Dragon Beast is one of the Devil's form of evil
In the battle of the Kingdom's last day.

Premium Member Yesterday's Beauty

My clippers snipped on ruthlessly,
As if they were on their own.
I pondered on the short, sweet life
This once lovely rose had known.
Yesterday's blossom must give way
For one waiting in the womb.
She had held her head so proudly
As she offered her comely bloom.
While in the bud she had dreamed of how,
Her beauty would startle the world.
The bee and the butterfly were there
As her sweet fullness unfurled.
They were her only admirers
As she flirted and primped and preened.
Charlatans come to sip from her,
Her moment of glory demeaned.
Regretting the loveliness I had missed,
I held her gently for a while,
Then dropped her faded remains into
The swelling refuse pile.

So it can be with humans too,
We're each given one shining hour
In which to activate our dreams
And show the world our power.
That moment missed, our chance is gone,
We are slipping the downward way,
With no one to listen as we shout,
"You should have seen me yesterday."

Bedtime Story

Dear sweet child,
it's time for bed
I'll tell you a story,
kiss your sweet head

Lay down with your blanket,
your night light is lit
And you'll fall asleep,
as you listen to it

Far off in a land,
where nobody goes
Peaches and Apples,
and the strawberry grows

Streams are all full,
of most colorful fish
Lakes full of ice cream,
eat all you wish

You'll wake in the morning,
to a wondrous sunrise
Hear the sweet songbird,
in the air as it flies

Run all day long,
with a kite on a string
See a pond full of Swans,
what a beautiful thing

Up in the trees,
a Squirrel and a Dove
So close together,
I think they're in Love

A Cat and a Mouse,
at run in a field
The Mouse chases the Cat,
Now, that can't be real

The Moon now is rising,
now it's time for sleep
Close your sweet eyes child,
In, your dreams will soon creep

Until tomorrow,
when it's bedtime again
Another story, I'll tell you
I know how it ends

A Picnic In a Bird's Nest

A picnic in a bird's
nest
cradled by the branch of a
tree,
under the shade of green
foliage
among birds in a picnic
spree!

Cradled by the branch of a
tree
sitting in the warmth of
velvet nest,
among birds in a picnic
spree
feeling lucky to be their
guest!

Sitting in the warmth of
velvet nest
listening to their sweet
song,
feeling lucky to be their
guest
among them for a whole
day long!

Listening to their sweet
song
dancing with them a little
bit,
among them for a whole
day long
enjoying their homely
treat!

Dancing with them a little
bit
sharing their joy and grief,
enjoying their homely
treat
it is sure a grand picnic!

Sharing their joy and grief
under the shade of green
foliage,
it is sure a grand picnic
a picnic in a bird's nest!

Premium Member Heavenly Tune

There's a sweet melody in that room
Close to God on his shining throne
For Kenny is singing in perfect tune

Accompanied by David's harp and croon
Kenny is singing the sweetest song
There's a sweet melody in that room

Kenny's crown is reflecting glory shone
Know that he never did any wrong
For Kenny is singing in perfect tune

Jesus just loves to hear him sing a tune
Some of the most melodious songs
There's a sweet melody in that room

Chirp, chirp, chirp he croons
All the angels join in the throng
For Kenny is singing in perfect tune

Gifted with the voice of gold
Singing now tunes all untold
There's a sweet melody in that room
For Kenny is singing in perfect tune

The Death of Rose

In a garden far away
full of dreams
full of prose
there lived a maiden
her name was Rose-

Amongst the flowers
amongst the trees
she dwelled each day
thinking on her endless pain
tears rescind her vagrant soul
christening the sun of each new day-

Then once upon the midnight hour
encasing her life
with so much power
the darkness came
and in that moment
she knew life
would never be the same-

She bled, she cried
not just her body
but all her sweet soul died-

Death as sweet as the jasmined air
took her within its arms
because never in life
did anyone care-

Her pain now gone
she finally rests
in her blessed garden
she loved the best-

Premium Member Lights Out Anxiety

How I dread that time of the night
Lights out as I wait anxiously
To fall asleep, encounter dreams
     My subconscious delivery

Will they be sweet and filled with peace?
Or will dreams take a different course
If spicy food has been consumed
     Nightmares display severe remorse

Some say dreams reflect the future
Counselors say they reflect past acts
But where do the monsters come from?
Those who try to whack with axes!

So as I lay me down to sleep
I pray for dreams that bring sweet thoughts
With loving hearts we approach day
     “Lights Out!” Anxieties increase
