Sun rays dazzle my eyes,
an ominous dark cloud
penetrates my mind and blinds me.
Groping like a mad person
I search for my elixir,
gulp down the scorching liquid,
curse, pray, blaspheme and plead,
hoping for some insight
into life's mysteries.
The darkness clears momentarily,
a silver lining glows on the horizon,
a handful of ideas come my way.
I grab my journal to scribble away.
My hand trembles,
my stomach aches,
darkness envelops me again.
The moment of inspiration evaporates
as quickly as a pool of water
in an oven on a hot summer day.
I reach out again
only to swallow the burning alcohol
in the hope of drowning my despair.

Premium Member Ordinary Pleasures Revered For Sure

Aftermath of Covid19 you say?
Beautiful ideas enter our mind
Creativity has found a sweet way
Deliberate hope for all of mankind
Enthusiasm brings muses to play
Foremost forever, this is so cool.
Girls and boys glad to be back in school.
Heartfelt happiness, it’s a brand new day!
Introduction to The Golden Rule.
Joyful as pandemic fades away.
Kids run toward grandma to give her a hug.
Love is no longer taken for granted.
Monstrous dreams slide away in the mud.
Needless diversion no longer ranted.
Ordinary pleasures revered for sure.
Parents are jiggling to a whole new beat.
Queens and Presidents are found not so pure
Respect for teachers will dance in the street.
Stupendous change will be showing us now.
The virus is not our only business.
Understanding and kindness anyhow
Variety of great ideas will save us
Wonderful calm days will come in a bit.
‘Xcited to be alive in this fuss.
Youthful exuberance – nothing like it.
Zestily protecting our humanness.

He hides the key to my heart
Away from himself, especially me.
He chides me for my want to take part
In his life, because I just cannot see.

His divinity is not mine to claim,
My divinity is longing for his anyway.
I'll wait forever without shame,
For another divine kiss someday.

He hardly speaks, but I love his voice,
Perhaps my purpose is to reassure or sing.
While proclaiming my love with rejoice,
He in a way completes me, always listening.

His divinity always reassuring me
That someday I shall be free eternally
Alongside him, my own divinity in her beauty,
She promises she will wait patiently.

Premium Member The Cat Knew

the closet door slightly ajar
she had no idea he was in there
her cat knew but was not concerned
not fearful at all
understanding nothing
about his grandiose ideas about
mayhem, death and destruction

the feline had
no understanding that he was there
for an evil purpose.
He was determined to not
allow either the cat or her owner
to see the morning light.

the cat cozied up to her mistress,
thinking they were just lying down
for the night like they did every night.
A sigh escaped her, and she began
pawing her mistress's tummy,
settling down easily
without any fear
at all.

Premium Member My Idea of a Good Man

My man does not have to be handsome
nor does he have to be super fit or even go to the gym
for what I am seeking dwells within, inside his soul
but of course there are some attributes of all good men
he must be trustworthy, dependable, kind, intelligent
a good listener because I tend to talk a lot at times

My man is respectful and polite to all
he is peaceful, humble, confident, courageous, fun
oh yes, my guy must have a great sense of humour
and is adaptable, has good relationships in his life
hardworking, with ambition and goals, and honest
he will fight for injustices along side of me always

My man will always be faithful to me
he has morals, integrity, initiative, he has vision
a good personality, open to ideas, likes poetry
must love cats, all animals domestic and wild
he is passionate and romantic and thoughtful
and if he has all this- he would be perfect for me

Here at the gate,
I sit and wait;
Pen now ready,
Blank page ink free.

Wordplay and art,
Muse promptly starts;
Words on a roll,
Brisk ideas stroll.

Ink stains in time,
Surge flow of rhymes;
An inner feel,
Spurs a calm will.

I step aside
Let flow now glide;
I do not know
Just what will show.

Word pictures fit
To honour wit,
I wait a while,
Watch soul move style.

Sometimes flow stops,
Yes not one drop;
Then like a breeze,
A oozing squeeze.

How do I write?
I simply cite:
What soul inspires,
Words do not tire.

I do not try
To force a sigh;
Words have a way
To twist fine play.

Premium Member Spiritual Moment

“Mystic Moment with you”

A natural look of who I am on the inside.
A reality check of who you are on the outside.

A mirror facing west makes the difference in you and me.
Open your eyes and see.

The child I was today is the reflection of you tomorrow.
The ideas of different skies drifted off without sorrow.

I am the good the bad, and the ugly…
A song permitting retrospection to delay the same face with yesterday’s glee.

From the moon to admirable moon;
The dignity of holding the same tune.

I am the swan that swims through your veins.
You are what swim’s through my moods and rain.

The miracle of our heritage echoed so far away.
Auspices now imitate metaphors that were under the surface bay.

An unknown look strays outside the window.
Behind the gates, that leads into tomorrow’s limbo.’

A mirage of turning around and seeing nobody but you and me.
Mystic moments that attract other moments of originality.

A dream that speaks about the image of my new beginning.
My courage polishes off the mirror image of a falling stars ending
You are the beating pulse that resides on the inside and outside of my being.

“You are the REFLECTION of my spiritual place”

Premium Member THE DAY I DIE

When I die,

There will not be a day of mourning for anyone.

No, announcements in the news will be made,

No, speeches will be heard,

No, articles will be written,

And the bells of my church will remain silent.

Thus,

Unnoticed, my departure from this world would be.

Only the humble verses of my three thousand-plus poems will be present-

A brave army at attention, ready to pay homage to their departed father-

By singing a lullaby, composed by the ideas, sayings, and deeds of mine,

In an effort to pacify my soul at the moment of her transition from her

Temporal to her eternal home!

-

Oh, what a glorious day, that day would be!
