Christmas Panic at the Pole
With only 12 days before Christmas,
Santa‘s concerned with the weather report,
the sleigh has a major malfunction,
needs repair and the time’s running short.
All the elves have themselves in a panic,
their shifts running twenty-four seven,
their tired and stressed but are doing their best
with remaining days numbering 11.
The reindeer are poised and polished,
Santa conducts their inspection with praise,
with the flight plan officially filed,
they’re all set to depart in 10 days.
Rudolph is fighting a head cold
But Santa knows he’ll be fine,
Santa rubs him with Vicks, with a hot toddy mix
cause he has to be ready in 9.
Bad news from North Pole repair shop,
some parts for the sleigh might be late
and there’s no time for home delivery tonight
as the countdown continues to 8.
Mrs. Claus and her singing elves,
entertain in the hall till eleven,
she has to confess as she plays all requests,
she’ll be glad when its over in 7.
Santa’s caught double dipping the eggnog,
with 6 left he has gained one more pound
those cookies and chips have gone this hips
he’ll be lucky to get off the ground
Mrs. Clause coaxes Santa try on his suit
they look at each other with dread,
with 5 days to go, it’s three inches to tight,
she looks for a needle and thread.
Well, tragedy has been averted
the sleigh’s fixed and Rudolph’s alright
with only 4 days before Christmas is here
looks like everyone’s up for the flight!
The Elves throw a disco party
Santa’s soaking his feet instead
with 3 days to go what he wants most of all
is a good night’s sleep in his bed.
The North Pole workshop got buried
in a blizzard with 2 days to go,
Santa summoned the elves at 3am
to shovel 12 inches of snow.
The presents are loaded, the reindeers prance
Christmas eve is finally here
Ho Ho Ho Santa cries as he flies cross the sky

dormant as naked
shivering trees
falling before me
yearning
for warmth
and companionship
in neverending
cold cruel
winter
Armageddon
solace at
the Grand
found it
in a hot toddy
and hugs from
Angela and Shelby
my favorite bartenders
Angela's latest
watercolor
just emerging
stunning
goddess
full of symbology
I see
dream catcher
earrings
colbalt silk dress
hemmed with
gold Hindu ohms
and swastikas
soft light
falling from
glowing moon's face
embedded
with
Cancer rising
astrological chart
Angela laughing
takes her
phone away
Shelby
petite
blue haired
pixie
swaps
toddler stories
her three year old
daughter
my two year old
granddaughter
being so adorably
horrible
I share
latest pics
from most recent
journey
youngest's wedding
big blue sky
soft white whisps
gracing over
beautiful bride
sequins sparkling
like snow
in setting sun
her handsome groom
in spiffy
mallard green tuxedo
crying
yeah...
and I have to
share my latest
girlfriend/online dating
experiences
always amusing
and hear that?
it's Billy Joel
Piano Man
playing
in the background
nothing like
day drinking
the bleak and grey
away
happy hour
happy day
Of romance, they never pen.
As if they had paralysis, or is
romance a secret then?
It's as real as the nose on your
face!
Have you erased it all and so
what took its place?
Yes, I heard about the poets, joy to
disgrace each other!
The sweetest poets here got intense
joy out of watching the jousting between
poet sisters and brothers?
A passion for poet blood, because
your life is that dull?
Better you have a hot toddy that
makes that mind of yours null!
Insults and spurn, do not encouragement
make.
Mail each other to have it out, on your
time, not ours is my take!
People see us ranting and humiliating
one another?
Who wants to join The Soup and get
their poetry smothered?

The intricate dusting of tree limbs and grass
paints such a quaint picture tonight.
Cold hands in mittens , warm breath fogs the glass
as we find our way towards the light.
Crackling hearth's such a delight!
I'm snug as can be all wrapped up in your arms
though outside our window it's snowing.
Captured here happily by all your charms
I can't even hear the wind blowing.
The warmth of you's all that I'm knowing.
Let's drink a hot toddy and toast to the night
as we cuddle and watch all the snow.
The flakes as they drift are a beautiful sight.
Right beside all the lamp posts they glow
All night long they'll continue to blow.
The warmth of the fire makes us sleepy and such.
I am here by your side, close your eyes.
I'm lost in your eyes as I feel your sweet touch.
We'll sleep as the wind howls and cries;
awaken to a snowy sunrise.

Cottage dreams, wooden cabins and the scent of burning campfires
Every July we would gather at Vince's cottage to see Santa in attire
Into the water he would go with his speed boat full of presents
all the kids would run to see the bearded man with a belly bent
There was no snow, no mistletoe, no hot toddy, just sweet lemonade
all the kids would line up straight just waiting for that gifted accolade
We had never heard of Christmas in July for us this was spanking new
at night we sat around at fire and sang carols until half past two
Today I reminisce about those days of Christmas in the summer heat
we wore flip flops and passed out freeze pops, oh it was all so neat
Now when winter holidays arrive with cold and winter storms abroad
we talk about Vince and his Xmas antics, before he left to be with God.

The last of the lights turned out,
drinks and hors d’oeuvres put away,
restaurant returned to its every-day self,
only a few candles in glass lanterns
now left on the bare pine tables.
She sits at one of the tables, and,
wincing, kicks off her shoes, removes
her cocktail apron and name tag,
leans on her elbows, inhaling the
cinnamon steam from her hot toddy.
Exhausted, with her piled-up hair
slightly disheveled, she relaxes.
The bride and groom are off
on their honeymoon to Santorini,
guests and most staff home to sleep.
The neon glow from outside
bathes her in a pink and blue haze
making her look less like a waitress
and more like a girl expecting a date
or actress waiting for her audition.
The hot drink gone, she redons shoes
and fetches her coat and purse
from the kitchen, leaving the cup.
Georgio, the boss, calls “Get some sleep.
You’ll need it tomorrow.” She sighs.
"All a man really wants, is a girl who looks good in a bikini." - Jack Freestone
All a girl wants is a man who looks amazing in a tiny suit
one that will make her heart race when he flexes his glutes
one who comes charging down the beach on a white horse
and swoops her in his big strong arms, without any force
All a girl wants is a good looking man with a sexy strut
one with crazy thunder thighs and trunks that plunge n' cut
one that will place tanning lotion all over her warm body
and make her purr like a kitten after drinking hot toddy
All a girl wants is a swimsuit God who is named Bolt Upright
it has to fit him almost right,... but just a wee bit tight
one who can save her if she's about to drown at sea
and give her mouth to mouth on bended knee.
"All a girl really wants, is a man who looks good in a bikini" - Yummy !
I shall enjoy the quiet of this Christmas Eve
Reminiscing about Christmases past,
Thinking about a lost love that will cleave
The heart, but memories do last and last.
Remembering those most treasured moments
I shall relish the solitude of this Christmas Eve
For tomorrow the danger of a war foments
And some young soldiers must take their leave.
Listening to soft carol sounds, I shall grieve
While sipping a hot toddy of brandy and cider
There shall be blessed quietness this Christmas Eve
But I’ll be wishing I were sitting here beside her.
It’s not likely I’ll be interrupted in my solace
Friends and family will have taken their leave
Preparations for Christmas were quite aweless
I shall treasure the peace of this Christmas Eve.

Daisy Daisy give me your answer do, said he
"I can't cuz I got de flu" she sniffled then blew
Daisy Daisy you know I love you
she plucked at the petals, then counted, recounted with rue
Daisy daisy won't you finally, say I do ?
" I'd like to, I want to but, Achew!
Daisy Daisy whats up with you ?
I got a cold and I don't know what to do !
Hot Toddy Hot lovin'.... he gave her, that night
then he loved her and kissed her, with all of his might !
The next day she knelt on one knee and did ask,
"oh Pippin oh Pippin won't you marry me"
I can't love I'm sickie, not now love, Tee Hee.
In the meantime, the ring was attached to a daisy,
of course he'd marry her, she drove him half crazy !!!
