When I was 19, where were you then?
I was in the dark, burning in the flames
Confused, lost in space, dead in a spin
Rolled the dice like my life was a game

I smoke, I drank, drove with it all in my brain
I wanted to crash, going nowhere way too fast
I never went to class, sliced open my veins
My lifeboat had sunk; I was sailing at half mast

I cried many nights alone with ink to paper
These never ending alibis disguised the see-through lies
My heart and soul dissipating in the vapor
Burned me through till the blue came out of my eyes

Colorless and alone, I felt confused and forsaken
You saved me now, but where were you then?
You were helpless like me, the gods mistaken
It’s like we were paying for past lives full of sin

You were 9, a child still with a gleam in your eye
In a prison you had just begun to understand
I couldn’t talk to you when you started to cry
Give you the power to rise and take a stand

You found solace in the world of make believe and art
Discovering digital souls that took you away from it all
People like you, under fire and severely confused
By a home that cut you down when you grew too tall

We journeyed together despite being a decade apart
Separated by time and space then, we are lucky now
Both children to worlds that gave us brand new hearts
Breaking all the rules the demons would never allow

We come to the present where you’re 19, and I’m 29
Veterans of frigid dark worlds that plagued our lives
We stand in the clearing with your hand holding mine
Feeling the same sun knowing that we both survived

You have to see you’re stronger than I ever could be
You made it here now, where we are finally together
You’ve waited in this clearing for a year to set me free
I’ve been waiting for 10 blinded by the foggy weather

Although the sunshine won’t illuminate the broken roads ahead
That will shake our foundation and test our unbreakable bond
I will never let you go, even if I’m holding onto a single thread
Instead, I will follow you into the darkness and further beyond

Let’s hope for now that the sunshine spreads its ardent love
And keeps the clouds from flooding and drowning our feet
We can stop the demons from forming the storms above
And find a place where our hearts can finally be complete

Long before Babylonians, Assyrians, Persians and Greeks,
Before Hammurabi, Sargon and Ramses ruled
The world below their feet;
Before biblical scenes and mythological dreams
Of magical carpet rides,
I knew you back then
Where sea breezes begin
And history was a gleam in your eye...
Alexandria, Alexandria, city of pleasure and pain,
They called you Ricotis as I recall
Earth Mother once called you by name.
Nestled on the Mediterranean Sea of monsters,
Pirates and explorers renowned,
You were not much more than desert floor
Until the conqueror came to town.
Alexander, Alexander, God-man, ruler-thought divine,
Sailed by your winds where the world begins
And knowledge was born and thrived.
In the halls of those palaces and places
He built from his own vision quest,
To rule a world of enlightened beings
Where all people could achieve their best.
Though he never quite saw your white marble walls,
With pillars of gold and blue;
Of the Serapeum filled with scholarly souls
Recording their own world view.
He never knew Pythagoras, philosopher, scientist extraordinaire;
Or the historians Philo and Josephus
And the volumes of memories they shared.
The early Christians, Church Fathers and Saints
Origen, Clement and Mark;
Alexander never knew what he finally did
When he gave you that worldly start.
You’ve seen the Pharos come and go,
Dynasties crumble and fall;
Romans and Greeks swept right off their feet
And Cleopatra’s castle walls.
Pagans, Jews and Christians too
All vying for your love;
As whispering winds of Freemason friends
Tell of Hermes below and above.
While Islam and Mohammed rule
In the shadow of the Sphinx,
Pyramids and temples filled with hieroglyphs
And obelisks that make you
Stop and think…
Alexandria, Alexandria, city of pleasure and pain;
So little I’ve spoken about you today
Compared to all I’ve gained.
Since the first day I once met you
In that dream so way back when…
Alexandria, Alexandria, so glad we’re still
Good friends.

A Walk To Remember

I met you on that hot summer day,
We were walking by the bay.
You had a gleam in your eye,
I knew then, you were thee guy.
I called you first,
I was so nervous, I almost burst.
We would make small talk,
And hold hands as we went on walks.
I could hear the beating of my heart,
Hoping that we would never part.
My hands would start to sweat,
In my heart, is where you crept.
I was so in love with you,
I could feel it, I just knew.
You loved me back,
Our lives joined together was no act.
We had so much fun,
Everything together we've done.
We would stare into eachother's eyes,
Promising to never say Good-bye.
A couple years went past,
I knew our love would last.
We would always smile,
Our love was no denile.
Then that day came,
The gleam in your eyes was still the same.
You took me to the beach,
Asked me to have a seat.
In your pocket, your hand went,
Then you told the story how we met.
You bent down on one knee,
"Will you be my wife?" You asked me.
I started to cry and answered "YES!"
You held me in your gentle caress.
Six months later, we were married,
In our new home, I was carried.
You laid me on the bed,
"I love you forever." You had said.
We made love that night,
Everything was so perfectly right.
I cuddled close to you,
I then told you, "I love you too."
Days went by, and I was with child,
Your cell phone I then dialed.
I told you that you're gonna be a Daddy.
You jumped for joy, you were so happy.
Then, the day came about,
We had a couple names picked out.
I started to feel real improper,
So you took me to the Doctor.
I was in labor,
Every moment you savored.
I gave birth to our healthy, handsome son.
With him, we were joined as one.
We have a loving family,
Living together happily.
We will always be together,
We promised eachother FOREVER.

The Chatty Chair

.
U-umph, Oof-fa ha!.... There, comfy now?
Hey, would you pick up your tush,
reach in here and pick up your wife's locket?
It's down here under my cush,
and please get that screw driver outa your pocket?
That's good for me, yes much better.
Is it good for you too?
Yes, now go ahead and read your letter.
Hey, you remember when you and your wife,
saved me at that Auction in Aspen?
Talk about stress and strife !
I sure was a mess back then.
One last chance,
and I was headed for the rubbish bin.
The Auctioneer grabbed my arm,
And hollered out, "who'll bid it at a sixty?"
I remember being on stage watching you,
then it was "fifty five or bidit ata fifty -now fifty",
You didn't bid ; ..I thought I was through.
No one interested and he was droppin' fast!
"Biddit ata fortyforty thirtyfi-five bidit atta thirty two!"
"Bidda wudda gimme good chair, just alil bit dirty"
I was so nervous ; you just stared at your shoe!
"Lookin big bidder cudda cudda bidder thirty!"
Biddit abub bidja bidja bud, gimme gimme bouta fifteen on "er
well right then I Frayed My Hem! And thought I was a Goner!
"Wudja wudja cudda cudja gimme gimme biddit at about ten?"
That's when you looked up high and I saw the gleam in your eye.
I shifted my skirting, straightened my back and looked real bold,
You caught his eye, nodded your head and he hollered "SOLD!"
Well I rocked back easy and you went in to pay the man,
loaded me up and brought me home in your old van.
Y'all cleaned me up and gave me a nice shampoo,
and set me just so in your cozy library den.
You know..I'm really comfortable with you two.
I Have been since that auction in Aspen.
Hey! You dropped some popcorn in my... Oh ..never mind..,
Ahh..the memories..it's all good..it's all just FINE.

Hello My Old Friend

Hello, my old friend...
Did you miss me?
It seems like forever since we last met like this
Hello, my old friend...
Did you miss the warm touch of my skin?
I missed the way your cool lips feel against my wrist
The little nip and nibble as you let out my demons
Did you miss the ribbons of blood that run through these veins?
I know I missed you.
Hello, my old friend...
You want to help me get through this?
Thank you for listening
No one else does
No one else helps
Nor would they even know where to begin.
You're the only true friend I have
Hello, my old friend...
Did you miss the fragile veins in my wrist?
You once said they reminded you so much like twigs trapped under ice...
So please, friend
Bite down and snap a few twigs here or there.
Hello, my old friend...
Like a doctor you cure my pain
You know exactly which areas to touch and to tease
Hello, my old friend
You're the only one who listens
You're the only one who knows how I really feel
and you're the only one who knows the temporary fix
To what aches and ails me
Hello my old friend
Did you do something new?
I noticed the shine and the gleam in your eye
You're looking pretty sharp these days
Hello, my old friend
Hello my razor blade
Goodbye thoughts and goodbye pain
Good bye voices in my brain.

Premium Member Political Betrayal

Such promises you made when asking for our vote
But it’s been a year and your vows are now remote

What happened to removing troops from the Mideast
And finding the right recipe for economic relief

Hungry families still living in shabby tents
Unemployed fathers pounding streets as they vent

New foreclosure signs are erected every day
As in Washington with our dollars leaders play

That gleam in your eye once inspired us to have hope
But middle-class tax breaks were not enough to cope

With rising prices at the pumps and in food stores
The uninsured yet sit on emergency room floors

Though you still seem to feel you have us hoodwinked
Betrayal is sensed by those struggling on the brink

We now look to you with accusatory eyes
Wondering how we consumed your pack of lies

Perhaps your intentions were good but believe us
You are not our Savior; His name was Jesus

Although we remain “one (stressed) nation under God”
In your next campaign you won’t get our nod

We’ll just take our cause to a far higher Power
Because in politicians, our trust has been soured

Dedicated to ALL of the politicians who made promises that have not been fulfilled.

Wishing I Was With You

I SIT HERE AT WORK WISHING I WAS WITH YOU
INSTEAD OF BEING HERE WITH SO MUCH TO DO

YOUR SOFT TOUCH A SWEET CARESS

THE SMILE ON YOUR FACE THE GLEAM IN YOUR EYE
I AM SO GLAD THAT YOU ARE MINE

HOW I LONG TO HOLD YOU TIGHT
BUT INSTEAD I STAY AND WORK THREW THE NIGHT

EVERYTIME I CLOSE MY EYES I SEE YOU THERE
I KNOW IN MY HEART HOW MUCH YOU CARE

MY ONLY WISH IS TO ALWAYS BE WITH YOU
FOREVER AND ALWAYS I WILL BE TRUE

FOR NEVER WILL I HAVE A WONDERING EYE
AND NEVER WILL I HURT YOU OR MAKE YOU CRY

YOU ARE MY LOVER,MY WIFE,AND MY FRIEND
I WILL WORSHIP YOU UNTILL THE VERY END

ILL NEVER STOP TELLING YOU HOW MUCH I CARE
AND IF YOU NEED ME ILL ALWAYS BE THERE

YOUR LOVE KEEPS ME GOING IN THE DARKEST OF DAYS
AND I FEEL YOUR WARMTH IN SO MANY WAYS

FROM THE WAY THAT YOU HOLD ME TO THE WAY THAT YOU SMILE
YOU MAKE ME FEEL HAPPY LIKE IM A CHILD

WHEN IM HERE AND YOUR THERE AND I MISS YOU EVER SO
I THINK ABOUT HOW WHEN I GET HOME IM GONNA HOLD YOU AND NEVER
LET YOU GO.

THIS POEM IS DEDICATED TO YOU AND IS COMPLETELY SINCERE

A Joy! A Joy!

A joy!
A joy!
A joy to the world
Born October 27th

A Joy!
A joy!
To my baby cousin
Of 2 years old

What a joy
When i see him I smile
For he is the new world life
He is the world's new innocents

When I see him my struggles go away
Struggles and pains
Which would only Taint that his brightness
Which would kill that innocents

A joy!
A joy!
Such innocents as to inspire hope
So as to inspire others to bring the same light to the world.

So please
O Please
Keep the gleam in your eye
The Gleam that can lead others in the dark

And as you do
Don’t waste your strengths
Don’t waste it on picking the same baggage up every day

For if you do
It will become yours
Weighing you down and down

Use that gleam to help others
Carefully carry others baggage with them
And help them to carry it on their own

All so that one day
When a new joy
New innocents will enter the world
You too will appreciate
That which you’ve brought to the world

"just a Dream"

When I went to sleep
Had no idea what I'd see
On the other side
In the darkness as I lie
Was a vision of you
Etched in my mind

As I tossed and I turned
I felt the deep burn
Like a candle in the wind
I started to squirm

I saw this vision of you
That was so real and so true
Never felt so alive
As I slept with eyes wide

Where was I now?
I was deep in the clouds....

As I floated so high
High up in the sky
I felt your touch on my cheek
It made me dizzy and weak

You smiled so brightly
With a gleam in your eye
When you kissed my lips
I started to cry

My heart skipped a beat
As I started to weep
I felt you wash all my tears
And take all my fears
Then all of a sudden
You just disappeared

I turned to see
Where you had went
You returned to heaven
As you'd been sent

As I opened my eyes
And started to see
Nothing was real
Or as it had seemed

This vision I had was all, Just A Dream....

Tragic

Tragic…

We mourn your loss we’ve lost your love
A star so bright that now shines above us
No earthly glow remains yet still we know
You’ll follow with us wherever we go

Behind your smile and the gleam in your eye
How could we know all you felt inside
The inner pain and emptiness which we now feel
There is no escaping that which is real

We watched as you grew from child to man
Watched as your father and mother let go of your hand
We watched as you conquered those childhood fears
Watched as your focus became crystal clear

Your family and friends could see it in your eyes
How you lived everyday and how you loved your life
So many were touched by the love in your heart
And now we carry that with us though we’re torn apart

It’s tragic to think, it’s tragic to feel
Still so hard to believe any of this is real
The words that I’ve found within me can barely explain
The feelings I have for your family, our family in pain…
