A Morning Birthday
The morning light shines down upon you and I, but nothing shines as bright as the gleam in your eye.
Your smile is like a fresh breath of spring, and your memories are like a bell that constantly rings. Every time I close my eyes, I think about you and every laugh we share; every smile that you bring makes me want to sing.You have no idea the amount of love I have for you, and you alone. There is no road I wouldn’t walk down just to be by your side—happy, healthy, free, and able to be me.
You make me feel like I’m brand new because with you, I smile, I’m happy, and I feel loved. I feel like a dove soaring high in the sky, wings spread out, cooing and chirping about you and you alone—the man that I adore, the man that I love irrevocably, unwaveringly, and unconditionally, I will love you more and more with each passing day, each passing second. I find myself falling into the depths of blue.
It feels like I’m drowning, but in the best way, because I’m falling more and more in love with you. If your love was the ocean blue, I would swim for hours on end. I would bask in the sweet smell of the salt, the feeling of it splashing against my skin—the feeling of your love.
As I swim, I would look up at the sky: not a single doubt in my mind, not a single fear, not a single tear, not a single yell, and not a single cry, because I know that I am yours and you are mine.
Your love keeps me going; it keeps me strong. You are my heart’s one and only song. I could listen to you for hours on end and never get bored.
I could bask in the beats that your presence seems to make my heart adorn, because life just makes more sense when I’m with you.
