Holy Passion

ALERT: A carpenter's son is loose in the Temple
Birds flutter, animals hustle, merchants scream.
The zeal for Jesus' Father's house consumes Him
As the place for foreigners to pray had become a zoo.

ALERT: A prophet is setting up for a Baal battle.
Baal's priests even cut themselves yet no fire.
After taunting, Elijah fills his altar with water.
Calling on God, fire consumes and people bow.

ALERT: An old man is building a huge boat ship.
Without a cloud in the sky and only son's to help.
When finished the animals come on call to board.
Rain starts, doors close – 8 saved by holy passion.

ALERT: Jesus is telling a tax collector he'll join him for dinner.
Heedless of the Pharisees despising and the crowd's surprise.
Zacchaeus totally changes – offering to multiply stolen money.
A single sinner saved multiplies even more this holy passion.

ALERT: Peter plus are preaching in the Temple again.
After being imprisoned for just that, now rearrested.
Whipped by the authorities, the disciples rejoice -
For they've been counted worthy to suffer with Christ.

ALERT: Daniel's praying openly even after it's become illegal.
The royal advisers gleefully have the king throw him to the lions.
Strangely they don't seem hungry till after Daniel is pulled out.
So the king openly praises Daniel's God for this amazing miracle.

DOUBLE ALERT: Jesus is talking to a Samaritan woman!!!!
Breaking cultural barriers to share the message of salvation
To her who has been married 5 times and is living with the 6th.
She believes he's the Messiah and brings the town to Christ!

ALERT: Paul's going back into the same town that stoned him.
He's preaching again after shipwreck, jail, beatings, and such.
Persecution seems to encourage Paul that he's doing the right.
Passionately following the Savior who turned Him 180 degrees.

ALERT: Bible translators burned at the stake for God's Word.
Missionaries avoid death and disease long enough to share life.
Stirring Holy Passion in receptive people who repeat the cycle.
Changing cultures in bondage into those sharing Jesus' love.

ALERT: What passion has the Lord put on your heart? Mine?
Can we pray to see His will find its way in our everyday lives
So the lost shall see, hear, find Christ and grow to share Him?
Eternity is forever, this life is not. Fill us Lord with holy passion.

2 Kings 1:10 And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

When Moses’ mother decided to put him in the basket,
Leave him in the water – which could have been a casket –
There was a bigger moment, a moment from the Lord,
Written by time’s steady pen, a story from the One adored,
It took more than just a feeling to leave that child in the water –
It took faith that only God Himself could have given His daughter!

When Elijah called down the fire from heaven above,
Revealing to the Baal worshippers – the God of love –
There was something more than just a miracle born.
In the fire, came a heart’s stirring so amazing, yet timeworn.
It was more than a warning, but hope was surely burning.
It took faith in the One who the soul is always learning.

When Joseph was promoted to such a high position,
Reminding the heart that He was surely on a mission –
There were prayers being answered, hopes revived,
Stars in the heavens surely knew His dreams survived.
It was more than fate that caused this amazing event.
It was faith in the God whose light is heaven sent.

When Jesus came to save our souls and destroy sin,
Promising the lonely heart that His love is all in –
There was more than the miracle of the virgin birth,
To show the world the dear Savior’s worth.
It was more than a miracle that the world would see –
It was faith in the Spirit who came down to free.

When I offer you my poetry – to celebrate His light
Coloring my praise with grace that glows in the night…
There is a prayer that will never fade, a hope that stays,
Singing love through the words I write, the sincere praise.
It is more than my heart and soul – more than words can say,
It is faith that what I give is worship that won’t simply die away.

From my heart, I offer my hope – with faith that He will bring
His light, His grace, His everlasting so my soul will always sing.
With worship for the One I love – this Jesus who can save,
I lift my hands, my heart, my hope, to the One so brave…
He came to give us each a chance to know the meaning of love,
So that, through faith, we’d know the way to touch God above!

The Profits In a Prophet's Prophecy

there are profits to be had if you listen to a prophet of the Lord
blessings of infinite proportions if you choose to get on board
the prophecy of a prophet, the words from a man of God
a man whom God will use, a man after His own heart
one who is willing to sacrifice and still do all that he can
to spread the gospel, intercede for others and follow God's master plan
but where are those kinds of prophets today?
true men of God whom we desire to obey
many of them have forsaken their ministries and compromised their callings
and can't seem to realize that spiritually they seem to be stalling
for it's quality and not quantity that the Lord God desires
it's not how many, but how devoted are those whom you inspire

Elijah was a prophet who had an intimate relationship with Christ
he lived during the times of Queen Jezebel's opulent life
but Elijah was a simple man of God who was most adamant
he stood on the word of God and was determined to follow the commandments
he declared one day that God said there would be a drought
and until the people changed their wicked ways, the rains would not pour out

one day on his earthly tour Elijah met a lost soul
a widowed woman of little means who had abandoned all of her goals
Elijah asked her for some water and then he asked her for some bread
she said I only have enough for one last meal and then I will be dead
she had given up, she was defeated, she had relinquished all hope
she had forsaken her belief system and no longer had a desire to cope
yet in the midst of all this virulence and all of this stress
Elijah said to trust in God's word so her testimony would progress
and after she committed to the word and took that leap of faith
she received a profit from the prophet's prophecy, she got a food rebate

when you trust in the Lord to provide all of your needs
He will overflow your storehouse with an abundance of seeds
if you believe in Him, you'll then receive from Him, come out of your comfort zone
trust in a prophet's prophecy it has the power of the heavenly throne
be obedient to God's commands, on His word you can depend
trust in God's promises, they will profit you in the end
the profits in a prophet's prophecy you will then receive
just say yes to all God asks of you and in His word truly believe

Premium Member A Prayer For Jubilee This All Hallows Eve

God, the children are dressed as wizards and their parents as witches,
A spirit of lighthearted harmony marks our steps as we walk,
And sinister ghouls and goblins are the subject of jovial talk,
And that is a beauty that I wouldn’t trade,
My daughter trick or treating with the other kids her age,
But God you and I know what day this really is,
It is the eve of all saints day or All Hallows Eve,
The night before we celebrate the saints that have gone before,
The night before we celebrate the joy that’s in store,
When we are reunited with loved ones in the great mystery,
And we feel the comfort of being known and knowing as we see,
The saints of old from ages past embrace us with a kiss,
And we repast, in everlast of things from life we’ll never miss,
Today is the Eve of All Saints Day when we celebrate in awe,
Elijah and Elisha, Yogananda, and the Apostle Paul,
And so dear Lord I pray this prayer on this ever so sacred eve,
For the many suffering souls around me who are craving a reprieve,
A reprieve from misery relentless on this All Hallows Eve,
God so many people around me are hurting and wish for death,
And their lives are so miserable they can scarcely tell,
That there is no such as eternal hell,
And most of these people to me at least do not deserve what they feel,
And people keep treating them so badly it is impossible for them to heal,
God bye and large these people owe no more debts than the rest of us,
But God I ask that you give them Jubilee tonight to restore their trust,
For God, they have been through so much,
Give them Jubilee so they can once again receive this life’s touch,
Give them Jubilee tonight so tomorrow they know they’re set free,
Give them Jubilee tonight so tomorrow they can embrace the great mystery,
That you always suffer with us, so we never suffer alone,
And suffering is never eternal but only lasts a season,
God give them Jubilee tonight so tomorrow they have a reason,
To embrace this life with fullness of hope and everlasting zeal,
Though many of them are closer to you than me, tonight I ask that you show them you’re real,
In a way that they will never forget the truth that you’ve shown me,
That you will redeem all creation over the course of eternity.

My Son Eli

You came to me before I was ready
I cried when I heard of your existence
Over night my youth was gone
Worried sick that I wouldn’t be good enough for you
Clueless on what expect for the future
Carrying you under my heart for 9 months long
I knew that I love you
I just never knew how much
Then I saw your face
Those beautiful brown eyes staring straight into mine
My heart melted
And I asked myself how can a person love someone so much that they just met
But I did
I love you more than life it’s self
In that instant I knew my purpose on this earth was to protect you from all evil
I would give my last breath to you
I would kill for you
I would steal for you
The little keeper of my heart
My ray of sunshine during a thunder storm
So much joy have you given to me
My life is meaningless without you
I taught you how to walk and how to talk
You taught me that life’s most precious gift is the love of a child
Your smile gets me through tough times
Your laugh is a symphony of music to my ears
I dedicate my entire life to you
I make I lot of promises that I can not keep but the absolute promise to love you till Lord stops my beating heart is one that is forever
I was young and clueless
Wondering around the word deaf and dumb
Until the almighty sent you to me
I am now wiser and understanding
Selfless, patient and gentle
You, my wonderful son, are the reason for this
You changed me
You saved me
I am forever grateful for you
My little pitcher
My soldier
My kung fu ninja
My super hero
The joy of my salvation
Life makes so much more sense when I’m looking at you
Where I go, you will go
I will starve so that you can eat
Go without so that you can have
Sleepless nights and empty bank accounts is all worth seeing you happy
Many will disappoint you, leave you, hurt you, and scar you
But remember momma will forever be right here for you
You are the number one most important thing in my life
You will never come second to nothing or no one
No matter how big you grow you will forever remain my little baby boy
My heart and my soul
My beginning and my ending
My tiny angel without wings
My meaning, my reasoning, my inspiration and my motivation
My one and my only Elijah William Tippett

Another Yes

One time I asked myself what's so hard about being a child of Christ?
is it because I have to fight against the devil everyday of my life?
is it because I'm now saved and living sanctified?
or is it because I refused to sell out and I'm now rectified?
the hardest thing about being in Christ I would profess
is that after the first time, God requires another yes

when you say yes to God it's not a one time event
for it's only by His grace that you are even in His presence
to be a child of Christ you need to advance by little steps
and say yes to all He asks of you, if you desire to be His earthly rep
in the process of time God will tell you to have no fear
for when your well runs dry He will make water appear
for God won't let you thirst nor let you starve and die
He will always provide for on His word you can rely

when Elijah asked that widowed woman for some water to drink
she said yes, that's no problem, what did you really think?
but when he next asked for a little bit of bread
she said I only have enough for one last meal and then I will be dead
as a prophet of the Lord, Elijah wanted another yes
to see if she would commit to God and trust in Him to do no less
her first yes was only a very convenient gesture
but her second yes would have been a show of her true measure

sacrificial commitment and unselfish attitudes
are some of the things God requires of you
step out of your comfort zone
and sacrifice for the heavenly throne

many people tend to treat God like a tire that's a spare
kept in the trunk until we need it there
and when that tire gets us to our final destination
we remove that spare and put it back in hibernation
but God has a plan and He's not just a convenient device
He's the master of our fate and Controller of our lives
you don't really own anything for all you see belongs to God
always give Him another yes and give it from the heart

so when that widowed woman did as the Prophet Elijah did say
God then provided her with food for many, many days
Yes Lord, Yes Lord say it as often as you can
Yes Lord, Yes Lord I put my fate in Your righteous hands
Yes Lord, Yes Lord for You I can do no less
Yes Lord, Yes Lord, ALWAYS ANOTHER YES

My Raven

I opened my heart
Where lies my brook?
Where are thou my Raven?
Our land is in FAMINE
Almost like that of the Israelites
I cried with millions
Wept for an ailing nation
Tubers of yam makes us yawn
Tomatoes puts us all in comatose
Bag of rice in crises
Garri soaking becomes a trend
I longed
I craved
For my Raven's miracle

I opened my heart again
Where lies my brook?
Where are thou my Raven
Raven miracle I seek
Elijah was treated to a royalty by Raven
Fetching him balance diet daily even in famine
He then drinks in a special brooks
Why not me God!!! I want my Raven miracle

Raven!!! Elijah's Raven
Raven !!! My own Raven
The creature with a shiny black feathers
Weird, mythical ...scary yet emit miracle
Smart, evil in disguise ... smells dark omen
Yet fetched Elijah three square meal
Largest in the crow family of birds

I opened again but not my heart
This time it is my mouth of hunger
Where lies my brook?
Where are thou my Raven?
 Raven miracle I seek
My voice became stronger for Him to hear
He is my shepherd I shall not want
Even as young lions lack
And suffers hunger in anger
I shouted" I shall not want"
I receive by faith the word
And I started chewing
Pretending to be an Elijah
Behold, food was on my table
I found myself devouring chicken in full
On a table full of varieties of food to maw
But no one else was eating
They all looked hungry and fagged out
I got a disdainful eyeing...
I heard them hissing profusely
Yes, it was like that table prepared before David
The same table God prepared before his enemy
I got their message
They weren't my friends
But there was more to go round
Why become selfish ...greedy
I beckoned to them without uttering a word
They swamped on me ... on the food
Then, someone tapped me on a long chair
Those bed-bug infested chairs ...
" Brother Stephen... why are you snoring?
We are through with the service
Remember that fasting continues tomorrow
And bring along your Prophet offerings
The Lord be with you"
The white-bearded man bid me bye
My mouth was still ajar
Finding expression for my thought

A Story from the Sunday Service

Premium Member The Transfiguration - Luke 9: 28-36

The four of them went up the mountain
Peter John James and Jesus to pray
there they were earnest in prayer
then something occurred to jolt their stay

Jesus facial appearance then did alter
even His clothes become blinding white
before them all stood Moses and Elijah
appearing glorious like Jesus so bright

What did all of this mean?
these OT saints with Jesus spoke
of the cross and departing this earth
it had all happened in a stroke

The disciples were now nearly asleep
but soon became fully awake
realising what they saw all this glory
Moses Elijah and Jesus this was no fake

Now Peter tried to keep the moment
suggesting making a tent for each
but Elijah and Moses were to move on
for the Calvary road was no walk on the beach

A cloud appeared to overshadow them
they entered then into God's envelope
as they did God spoke from heaven
with the message of eternal hope

This is my son my chosen one
listen to Him Jesus was now alone
obeying His father's perfect will
for Jesus is the chief cornerstone

AUTHOR NOTES:
The Transfiguration
Now about eight days after these sayings he took with him Peter and John and
James and went up on the mountain to pray. And as he was praying, the
appearance of his face was altered, and his clothing became dazzling white. And
behold, two men were talking with him, Moses and Elijah, who appeared in
glory and spoke of his departure, which he was about to accomplish at
Jerusalem. Now Peter and those who were with him were heavy with sleep, but
when they became fully awake they saw his glory and the two men who stood
with him. And as the men were parting from him, Peter said to Jesus, “Master,
it is good that we are here. Let us make three tents, one for you and one for
Moses and one for Elijah”—not knowing what he said. As he was saying these
things, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they
entered the cloud. And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my Son,
my Chosen One; listen to him!” And when the voice had spoken, Jesus was
found alone. And they kept silent and told no one in those days anything of
what they had seen.

Premium Member Lord God, You Are My Meal Provider

April 2 Relationship to God Bible Meditations Based on 1Kings 17-19

Key Verse –1Kings 17:16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.

LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY MEAL PROVIDER

Lord God, You are my meal Provider,
enabling me to dwell in Your contentment-will
Thank You for bringing me bread and water that truly fill
Midst dryness, as You combat poverty attacking prosperity hill
To sustain and refresh me serenely still.

Lord God, You are my meal Provider,
encouraging me to remain in Your abundant goodness
Thank You for restoring me, forgiving my confessed sinfulness
Midst guiltiness, as You pardon me with Your loving kindness
To restore and build me up through Your sanctifying holiness.

Lord God, You are my meal Provider,
exhorting me to pray and to You always call
Thank You for satisfying me along Your dining hall
Midst scarcity, as You meet my needs’ over all
To deliver and revive me from destructive downfall.

Lord God, You are my meal Provider,
empowering me to live according to Your Word
Thank You for guiding me toward servanthood-ford
Midst crisis, as You counsel me from troubling discord
To uphold and govern me with Your Spirit’s sword.

Lord God, You are my meal Provider,
enlightening me to esteem Your sacrifice
Thank You for granting me eternal life of great price
Midst nothingness, as You supply me with mercies that suffice
To gird and propel me to service-heights, with faith to arise.

Lord God, You are my meal Provider,
exposing me to Your instructing wisdom
Thank You for inviting me to work in Your kingdom
Midst idleness, as You move me against boredom
To support and help me in ministering with divine freedom.

Lord God, You are my meal Provider,
extending to me Your grace as I abide by Your time
Thank You for accompanying me in my journey-climb
Midst weariness, as You curtail me of my selfishness’ chime
To rescue and prop me by Your compassion that can’t be paid by dime.
