For Brian Blankenship, a heart worth remembering

Stronger than I could imagine being,
Reminding me that love isn’t always agreeing –
But it is fiercer than a roaring lion,
Just like this man we all called Brian

His light fell gentle among the shadows,
Erasing the dark, embracing the One who rose –
Silencing the fears with His own tender tears,
He has a new life, now, meant for Jesus’ heirs

Faithful to the One whom he always clung,
He knew Him since he was so very young…
Recognized the joy that comes to life inside,
Grace that grows so certain it can’t be denied

Everyone who knew Brian, knew He was a light,
Reflecting Jesus’ promises, His amazing insight –
Into the spirit, the heart and the soul, the belief
Comforting even the worst darkness, however brief

There isn’t a soul who knew him on this earth
Who wasn’t touched by his kindness, He was worth –
More than words can describe or explain away,
He was more valuable than these verses can portray

Whatever happens, whatever sacrifices we make
There is the certainty that God won’t make a mistake –
When it was time to go, Brian was undeniably ready,
His relationship with Jesus had always been steady

Everyone down here will miss the preacher, the man,
But everyone in heaven is singing praises, for the lineman –
Who finally came to meet with the Savior of his soul,
Jesus, who invites every heart to be made whole!

Yes, we’ll miss him more than words could explain,
But there is no doubting, he’s with One who will reign –
Forever, through eternity, with love wiping away every tear,
Yes, we’ll miss him – but I’ve convinced there is no need to fear!

He’s with the Father now – He’s with Jesus, the Savior and Son,
He’s experiencing glory, now and that will never be outdone –
He’s filled with joy now – joy forevermore, joy on the other shore,
He’s with the Father now – He’s with the One who we’ll forever adore!

Premium Member Song of Silence

Stillness floods my soul
Rhythms of peace, to console
Lifting me higher, like hope
Restoring God’s grace so I can cope

Quiet whispers, a song of grace
Pouring forth wonder to gently embrace
Singing through the thunder, praise
His sweet voice will surely amaze

Silent prayers, lifted to the skies
Meant to bring glory that is life size
Revealing the music that plays inside
Those who are servants who ever abide

Remembering the feelings, the glory so wise
Startling the moments with His wonderous surprise…
Wherever we are, whatever comes in our life
He is the answer to all doubting or strife –

He is the reason we can know peace within
He is the wonderful who has always been…
The still in the breath, the song in the wind
He brings forgiveness to all of us who’ve sinned.

I’ll never stop believing He saved me completely
His love flows across my heart, so tender and sweetly
Bringing me assurance that His light will never dim
Because He is the song of forever – the joy in each hymn

You got this

Stop doubting yourself, you can handle any situation,
believe in yourself and find motivation.
Push yourself harder, you have the strength to conquer all,
don't beat yourself up over anything, because it’s okay to fall.
Pick yourself right back up, and hold your head up high, be as happy as you can be, there ain't no time to cry.
Because life is too short, and you have to live, tell yourself you're good, until you can believe.
That your happiness depends on you, so show yourself you care, don't let nothing distract you, until you get there.
Once you make it, please never forget, this is the best thing you can do, and you’ll never regret.

On the night skies,
Drifting – solitary stars…
Collected, quiet, nomadic,
Free and flowing
Gliding through the silence

On the gentle promises,
Wordless, but sworn…
In faith, never doubting,
Sure as the endlessness of stars,
Moon glowing – wise as the heart.

On the softest prayers,
Voiceless whispers, violet…
Kisses, like wonders, blessings,
Preparing the soul,
With hope, peaceful and low.

On the melancholic colors,
Visions in sapphire and gold…
Brilliant scarlet, nature glowing
Reflecting the joy,
Breathing elated splendor.

On the morning, dawning,
In echoes of grace…
Shedding the skins of a past,
When yesterday felt so hateful,
Yesterday, twilight feeling shameful.

On the edge of a song,
Captured by the heart, the knowing…
Breathless sighs, singing along,
Inspiring the feelings,
Consenting to acceptance.

On the shadows of Christmas,
When love falls all around…
Dusting the rim of our moments,
With heaven’s grace,
Stirring awake the true praise.

On these precious moments,
Close as the twinkling…
Glistening on the easy silence,
In eyes, alive as stars,
Breaking through the dark –

Breaking down every wall,
Releasing the bonds of intolerance,
Destroying the fears,
Cleansing the past with fresh tears,
Tears of hope, tears of faith –

Tears meant to embrace Christmas’ meaning –
The significance of kindness that gives…
From the heart, from the spirit
Gifts of light sent down from above,
Gifts of His peace – the hope, faith and love
That only Jesus…
could have stirred awake inside us!

Angels are hiding
Right in plain sight
fighting the demons and shadows of night
giving us strength
and holding our hand
raising our courage from up in the stand
always believing good hearts will prevail
guiding our souls like wind in a sail
share joy when we're happy
and shed tears when we're sad
with friendly smiles
turn to good all the bad
we see them each day
precious moments we share
never once doubting
how much they care
sent from above
our family and friends
share quietly their love

In the lines of your quarried face
are granite truths and pastel mysteries
part-time jester - full-time thief of hearts
doubting the existence of great gifts,
tears in the fabric of self-worth.

In the violet crag of your word,
the echoes of a billion wizened steps.
Sunflower soul - harboring underground seeds.
Lightning bolt anger marbled with hummingbird heartbeats.
A moth-dusted soul seeking something ocean blue deep.
Something more than shallow phrases and rat-nibbled deeds.

You're a parched rose praying for thundercloud attention.
Yearning for a different flavor of strength.
A heart minted with the firmament of God.
To know for certain that angels tend to your day.

From your ruby colored throat, there are gentle night songs
and the hooves of tragedies approaching.

No Objection To Cold Weather, But

No objection to cold weather, but...

ah jest wanna boomerang back into the womb
to escape unrelenting forbidding gloom.
perhaps cuz mine generation
nsync with baby boom.

No matter birth canal
long since got breached,
countless (three plus) scores of years
I quickly grew
impossible mission to plunge
(think Nestea commercial)
headfirst back into utero,
yours truly haint got any
handy dandy blues clue,

nonetheless said wish -
I broach to you,
whether ye reside in Baku
Guangzhou
Kalamazoo
Kathmandu
Peru
Thimphu
Timbuktu.

Sudden pang roared awake
nsync like blazing saddles
hot enough to sizzle steak
torpid, humid, and
arrid extra dry to take
breath away analogous vacuumed
courtesy fire breathing dragon
chilling parched scales in great lake
already this doubting

Thomas doth hanker
for global warming yore
less than six months ago
geesh for goodness sake,
when Earth did bake
triple digit temperatures
no thirst could slake,

thus intravenous feeding
in tandem with trach
still inadequate to brake
yours truly did pine... for chill
against dehydration, ah only to wake,
when came the morrow,
where Jack and Jill
sweat buckets, this

before they climbed uphill
akin to madding crowd
clamoring, thirsting, gulping...
every last drop
essentially emptying damn
immense reservoir spill
futilely swilling parched lips till...

Old cranks shrugged off
exceptionally hot weather, and did scoff
younger generation's creature comforts
old geezers recalled
back in the day
as laddies and Tom boy

lassies did slough
no trespassing signs
skinny dipping after they shuck off
clothes giddily swinging
atop highest bough
playing hooky averse

learning would ever payoff
pitying other kids in school
former gathering rosebuds...
around lunchtime hunger
relishing stealing stroganoff
under nose of Mister Groff,

one former German World War II,
who colluded with American "boys"
despite heavily decorated luftwaffe
and posthumously honored
Veterans day getting last laugh!

Premium Member Midnight

There lived a girl who loved animals
She had three cats who’d been abandoned
She loved them so and wanted them to know
That they would always have a home with her

One morning she went out for the morning paper
One cat was missing and she searched for it’s ebony
Form as it was the one who she loved the most
But when she discovered her she was listless

Midnight was the kitten who she deeply cherished
And somehow her cat once found been cut to pieces
She had her Mom rush the animal to the vet
Where it was met with a good and kind doctor

Finally, after many days at the vet’s office
And with only evening phone calls to encourage her
The girl went home with her cat who now had
Not four, but three legs… and no tail – oh well!

That cat could climb a tree, on legs – only three
As well as the next kitty who had all four legs
And soon it was shown to be, the kitty who knew
It’s place was with this girl, who loved her totally!

Midnight lived until the girl turned seventeen
And gave many hours of affectionate purring
With a heart that knew without any doubting
That love lived in the heart of this hopeful child

Gallic Garlic Gall of Gaul

Hands clench stuck in a culinary trench with no French

Devotion can’t bench sensory commotion a saucy wench

Emotions wrench if no whiff on the breeze of cheese stench

Potions & notions quench..ocean lotions tastebuds drench

For a foodie bouillebaisse with timeless grace like Judi Dench

No dodgy Brigitte Bardot politics or slick card tricks of tarot

Go for Gallic garlic gall.. all will enthrall when in Gaul..Escargot

Choir of desire ce soir more beurre.. pot au feu.. boudin noir

The star steak au poivre or oeuvre as they make fresh tartare

Mussel frites hustle.. boozy bustle.. shellfish tussle of a bistro

Cassoulet with pomme puree then creme brulee classics spar

Foie gras a mardi gras or bizarre faux pas in brasserie bazaar

Pastry crew Michelin route could be choux or tasty en croute

Never hasty flavour douche a louche croquembouche maestro

Pouting fondue goo spouting fountains on mountains outing

Creamy tartiflette or steamy andouillette from piggy toilette

Forget Pret get a better baguette cornichons raclette touting

What’s more francois then petit pois or dreamy dauphinoise

Carbs shouting.. barbs flouting.. baked camembert scouting

No doubting dishes with calories sprouting diets are a routing

For some it’s foodie hell for me Heaven..my true blue belle

Fruit de Mer in that terracotta apparel has me over a barrel

Travel under the spell crustaceans relations you fell.. unravel

Shell fish fresh from saline swell my divine dell in La Rochelle

No askance glance at the chance for your palette to dance

In a trance at how they enchant stuff always buff & enhance

Know in advance their cultural stance.. revolution..the lance

Saw red aristocrats dead off with their head no longer prance

Instead perchance adored smorgasbord hoard vive la France

Premium Member My God, Thank You For Letting Me Have Your Grace

December 7 Scripture Meditations Based on Hebrews 11-13

Key Verse – Hebrews 12:28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.

MY GOD, THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME HAVE YOUR GRACE

Thank You for letting me have Your grace toward kingdom advancement
Despite wavering due to temptation’s enticement
To serve You acceptably with reverence-moved commitment
As You keep my faith strong by Your encouragement
Ever fixed for heavenly accomplishment.

Thank You for letting me have Your grace toward stewardship faithfulness
Despite fainting due to labour’s weariness
To seek You diligently with devotion-earnestness
As You keep my dedication zealous by Your greatness
Ever geared for productive fruitfulness.

Thank You for letting me have Your grace toward grateful worship
Despite slumbering due to boredom’s partnership
To praise You joyfully with communion-fellowship
As You keep my will surrendered under Your leadership
Ever excited for blissful followership.

Thank You for letting me have Your grace toward ministerial service
Despite complaining due to pride’s malpractice
To work for You conscientiously with orderliness-treatise
As You keep my heart revived with Your promise
Ever empowered for divine office.

Thank You for letting me have Your grace toward conversion zest
Despite compromising due to idolatry’s pest
To abide in You peacefully with gratitude-fest
As You keep my salvation assured by Your secured best
Ever guarded for triumphant conquest.

Thank You for letting me have Your grace toward prayer fervency
Despite doubting due to unbelief’s persistency
To call for You constantly with neediness-urgency
As You keep my supplication answered according to Your mercy
Ever upheld for serene consistency.

Thank You for letting me have Your grace toward dependence delight
Despite halting due to interruption’s blight
To prioritize You daily with Bible-light
As You keep my attention focused to Your sight
Ever directed for holy flight.
