Children

Taste the blood of your young and commit it to memory
May it taste so distasteful it sours your face and curdle's your sight
For the thought of there harm be your scariest fright
Offer them Protection from that which you fear
Wrap them in cotton and hold them most Dear
To your children give Love from heaven above
Pass on your knowledge your dreams and your vision'
Your's to dominate , Your's to castigate but mainly to educate
What's right from whats wrong and when to be strong
For you are all they have seen and where upon there personalities will demean
Treat your children well or they will tell

Premium Member Cruel Cutting Comments

A poetry virgin... that was me
going through a purple patch,
a dismal dark period in life
Desperately needing an outlet
to focus on instead of the now...
this trying time I had to endure

I joined Poetry Soup to have fun
My ultimate aim was just
to bring a smile to others.
But 'HE' couldn’t stand the fact
that what I called my simple scribbles
were more popular than his sonnets...
He considered himself a poetry God
and me? He referred to me as
just a pathetic poet, penning poop

So, the belittling of my poems,
and the cruel comments about them began

He was SO desperate to be top dog,
even challenging me to a poetry duel.
The tide of his anger turned against me
as if they were waves trying to crush me.
He was obsessed with putting me down,
drowning me in his wake.

I was at an all-time low ebb in life
Finally, I couldn't take it anymore.
My notepad scribbles were smudged,
stained with the torrent of my tears
My pen bled ink blots like blood,
then dried up like a creek devoid of rain.
For seven dismally long days, I wrote nothing.

BUT powerful persuasion from poetry pals
forced me to face the reality I needed to see.
"Why should you allow that puffed up pompous prick
to stop you from writing what you feel?"

That was a wakeup call for me.
More than just a change in the wind.
Eleven years have passed; I am STILL here...
with two books published under my name.
There are still trolls who like to torment
and demean me, I will never, EVER...
give another troll the opportunity to do me in!

Premium Member Just Open Up Your Mind

Just for a moment, open your mind to all possibilities. Whatever you dream, you can do and create. Then probabilities have opportunities, by which they can manifest.

When the radio was manifested, everyone believed such, was impossible. Phones, cars, indoor plumbing, computers and all we have today, was once considered impossible.

Belief is the catalyst, by which we initiate possibilities. Possibilities addressed with imagination, belief, and effort; give birth to realities; increasing probabilities give us hope that our dreams will manifest.

Skepticism has its place; it can keep you on the road to manifesting realities but, it’s too often abused; used to demean and degrade the dreamers. It prohibits their success in manifesting those probabilities which stalls progress.

The fool is the diehard skeptic; the clammed-shut mind. Those who believe; though some skepticism is allowed; are the real geniuses; courageous believers; thank God for them.

Each of us possesses the capacity to dream; when dreams provide ideas; open your mind, create and leave a part of yourself to this world.

Premium Member A LITTLE MORE LIKE FRED

When our children were children…
we’d sit together on the floor and watch Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood…
It was a wonderful way to be together
while learning how to be kind and decent…and good.

From our age to theirs in front of our TV it was easy connect
with someone who exuded kindness and treated everyone with respect.

It was our hope that our children would pick up on this thread…
and when they went out into the world…
would be a little more like Fred.

That they would practice peace and empathy…
would live their life with honor and dignity…
that they’d try to resolve their differences through communication….
not with hostility.

That they would understand although there is evil in this world…
meant to demean, demolish and destroy…
they could fight this evil with love and hope…
and try to fill the world with joy.

Imagine what our world would look like…
if we accepted one another in spite of our differences…
If all the people of the world were acknowledged…
welcomed…
and well-fed….
Imagine the kind of world we could create…
If we were all…
a little more like Fred.

MIRROR MIRROR

Mirror, mirror, what do you see?
Yes you, fine lady looking back at me,
So, you're not the young woman
in the magazine,
Losing sight of her true reflection
on a beautiful scene.

You’re the best authentication,
of the image of new,
Makeup should not be a plaster
making you other than you.

Close the book and take a look
at what doesn't demean.
Picture perfect isn’t perfect
showing whats not meant to be seen.

Mirror, mirror, on the wall,
It's not easy being green,
Being jealous of someone else,
If you know what I mean.

The other side is always
appearing a shade more green,
You are meant to truly discover,
the you you haven't yet seen.

Step aside, mirror mirror,
give it all a rest,
Put the fine lady to a reality test,

Sweet sixteen ain't twenty twenty nine,
And 29 ain't 40,
Look your best in your dress,
whether formal or sporty.

Mirror, mirror,
now reflecting a fading rose,
Love the story more than loving
how the story goes.

There's beauty in every stage
of the human's life.
If you're a husband reading this poem,
Please encourage your wife.

Alterations of Communications

Alterations Of Gommunications

Alterations of deep invigoration that pull me out of this dream
Calibrations of computations that numerically demean
Annotations of misco ordination that stifle their screams
Complications and celebrations as they misunderstand the meme

Hallucinations that are forced on you when reality is where you stand
Communications that are sad but true as your forced to play your hand
Condensations of a situation that just won’t get through as the poor take a stand
Commiserations for the chosen few who are now considered grand

Bipartisan confusion in places where there was once political reason
Artisan allusions that advocate for freedom
Partitions of dellusion that could be considered treason
Admissions of collusion that are beyond the call of the season

Barometric records that increase the temperatures around the globe
Geometric treasure found in nature that mathematicians constantly probe
Symmetric compositions that you never want to go
Esoteric inquisitions that are there for spiritual show

Mass communication that over saturates the order of the day
Crass enumeration that you never wanted to display
Alas this enunciation may not land in the right way
At least in the commiseration I have said what I needed to say

BECAUSE OF JUST ONE POETESS

I let go of living in sadness.
My life seemed going nowhere,
and looking back now, it all
seemed like madness!

It wasn't because she did
gymnastics with boorish
poetic forms.
Nor was she cute or wordy.
using only the shortest
forms.
I was in search for something
far deeper that healed me with
human warmth and a soul balm.

Best of all, through her, I was
to learn to waltz happily with
shadows of my past!
And to know that love seems
to end, but I found contrarily it,
in another form, always lasts.

BECAUSE OF JUST ONE POETESS

I kept coming back to read her
at the Soup.
And, finally,after a number of
months,
I concluded to sign up and
express myself with my freshman,
weak pen.

I used to write the saddest poetry,
before I came here.
I try now to stay away from poets
who hate my country, or get joy out
of living in lost love or sadness.
And to avoid all who laugh at and
demean myself!
Belittling others in a poem, creates
and furthers world madness.

BECAUSE OF JUST ONE POETESS

Indeed my days have transformed
from gloom to splendiferous gladness.
No hopelessness nor grief can
fingerprint my life any longer.
And in the days to come, may
my words become far stronger.

BECAUSE OF JUST ONE POETESS!

**Her name is known best to the
 the humblest of the twinkling
 stars and God's ears**

Premium Member Pale-Face Moon

Pale moon in the sky have you lost your way?
For your realm is night, not the bright of day.
Your face is white, are you sick, not OK?
Your healthy skin brown tanned - hides your pocked hinterland.
Scars of sebaceous gland - the pimples picked by hand.
But in the light of day, all can be seen.
The crater marks simply gleam, glow obscene,
On your pale moon face, to shame and demean.
So my dear pale face moon - your fans still want to croon
To bay, howl, not at noon - but in midnight's dark gloom,
So dear moon, please keep away and don't stray,
After a one-night stand onto the strand.
For you risk being labeled a has-been,
So starkly pale, in the bright light at noon.

I want to relay a message without Judgement or hate.
I don’t want to argue and I don’t want to debate.
It’s just my thoughts on masks and Covid 19.
This is just for awareness and not meant to demean.

The mask is a big issue both here and abroad.
For some it’s important and for others it’s fraud.
Some will get this virus and never feel sick.
Others get lucky and their symptoms don’t stick.

Some will get very ill and eventually die.
There is no rhyme nor reason, and nobody knows why.
Let’s just give some thought and open our minds.
Every life is important, search your heart and you’ll find.

It could kill your husband, your wife, your Mom or your Dad,
your brother, your sister, grandparents, or some acquaintance you had.
Remember these people as you put on your mask, we can all do our part, if you’re healthy be glad.
Please be safe and wash your hands, focus on the good points and not just the bad.

Behavior Over Morals

To behave - to conduct- demean or acquit
To act , conduct one's self in a proper manner
Your behavior - Are you moral? Manners are they good?
Deportment ? your conduct! Is it with honesty?
Gods way of morality! Conducting being capable of managing
Managing your personal behavior - power of the mind
The way you act! Moral conduct! Challenging
Behaviorism - theory of - to speak with kindness
Verbally of intelligence! Spoken of clear words
To set an example - of no vulgarity with integrity
To behave - Moral conduct moral laws
Lord what do we intend to believe?
To mind the law - Hear no evil , speak no evil
See no evil - Who do you behave? Management?
Are they Loyal - honest, trustworthy or moral?
What about cops? Do we have that the law?
Do they or are they moral ? of good conduct?
Do they mind the law themselves - parents
Are they loyal? Moral of good conduct? I saw
My life today - Morals to be found obsolete
The dilemma - walking down the street today
What are you doing when no one is looking?
Were you moral - trustworthy ? Who do you believe?
A moral life - Gods way we want to achieve
Behavior health ? Psychology - Do we mind them?
Are they trustworthy - honest - loyal of moral standards?
Do they mind the law - mind verbal clean language?
Here we go ! Over and over time after time again
What do you behave? Moral conduct! When?
