And Maybe--.. ( For My Daughter Kether )

And Maybe…….. ( for my Daughter Kether )

“And maybe” she said so vehemently
“And maybe these things just aren’t meant to be”

Her eyes so wild in her need so strong to verbalize a phantom thought

“And maybe dreams are just counterfeit
“And God and everything else
“And you wish and you wish for something else
“But what is there,
"Is there any proof of anything else ?”

“You think about stars and time and visions
“And all these flaming useless things
“And you are so busy looking for something else
“That you miss the point
“You miss your life
“And maybe, just maybe there is nothing else
“And this is all we have

She said and looked at me
Questioning those possibilities
Hoping I could see
What she meant

“And maybe between finger tip and lip
“And maybe between each other
“Our discourse and concourse of living together
“And maybe in honesty and strength
“To be courageous and alive, is all we have
“No matter what the realities
“Or the circling stars and the mind bending Galaxies

“What do you know ?
“And your life is all you know
“And the rest is just the rest, just theory
“Its not like the telephone, a dream which became a reality
“No, its just an abstraction
“But the truth speak to me clearly
“It speaks to me through the ends of my finger tips
“Through my lips
"I'll look for my answers and my dreams
"Inside these

“It tells me through my heart and my eyes
“It urges me through my wants and desires
“What point is there in any dream
“When living and life itself can be so fulfilling
“What point is there in believing in God
“If you cannot live your life, whatever your life is, without fear
“And maybe, just maybe
“This is all there is

And then she sat back and nodded to herself
As she saw her own point for her become clear
she looked at me
and her look said

"don't you see there isn't anything else"

( Twenty years old and already so full of wisdom, my daughter
and everyone who meets her; and everyone who knows her
has to admit that there is something uncanny
in the way she looks in your eyes
as if she is seeing the whole world )

Daddy's Little Girl

February 21st,2003 the year, I almost shed a tear
that very night you first appeared,

and every since I saw you Tia, you have been the
one, my heart's been filled with you, my moon, my
star, my shining sun.

I haven't been the bestest dad but God I surely try, on
wings I surely fly, without you I would surely die,

cause you stand front and center up in Daddy's little
world, I call you 'Stinky Faces' cause you're Daddy's
little girl.

Your birthday comes each year it seems that time
just really flies, I love explaining things to you, the
look inside your eyes,

is one of understanding, you're so smart and I'm so
proud, I think of you and clouds just dissipate from
all around.

I'm guiding you to live life right, that's all it is with me,
your job won't measure who you are, MD or Mickey
Ds,

no matter if you're rich or poor my love will stay the
same, it's on that higher plain like where the
mountains meet the rain.

My precious little angel, numerous demands you
meet, act up I'll tan that seat, you have your Daddy's
hands and feet,

and when we hug our noses meet, that's just a thing
we do, we laugh and we have fun when we're
together me and you.

It's safe to say I love you even more than my own
self, to save your life I'd walk with open arms to my
own death,

I rue the day you bring some young'n in through my
front door, that's just the way a Daddy feels, we all
want something more,

for all our little girls, we want a man who'll treat you
right, no question you're the greatest thing that's
happened in my life,

it'll look as though I'm giving you away come
wedding day, but even when you're old and gray my
little girl you'll stay.

I'm here for you through thick and thin, we'll have our
kicks and grins, we'll prob'ly fight and argue but we'll
be in thick again,

you're worth a whole lot more than all the diamonds
in the world, you shine more bright than pearls,
forever, Daddy's little girl.

My Daughter

My daughter

Bringing you home was a very special day,
Tiny little hand and tiny little feet, a face that always yawn
So precious it was to hear you talk, walk and run
Running after you became grandma's 10k run.

Taking you to your first day of school
Watching you have so much fun
Learning in life never really ends
I guess you're never really done.

You learn at school from books,
From fairy tales to fiction to non-fiction.
You learn from life by reality
Your family and friends become an addiction

We are very proud of you,
Your goals may change in life everyday.
Whenever you are lost or frustrated,
All you need to do is, pray.

We are and always will be there for you,
There will be good days and bad
Times change like seasons,
But, we will always be, your mom and dad.

We love you very much,
Our love will not always show.
We will always be there to guide you,
We just wanted you to know.

I have been blessed
With the most wonderful child.
Even through her teen years
When her friends ran wild.

She was my rock
When her father walked out.
She's the reason I went on
When I was in doubt.

She phones me daily
Just to say "hi".
She knows what I'm feeling,
To her, I couldn't lie.

I see a younger me
When I look in her face.
We are so much alike,
Take life at the same pace.

She ends each conversation
With an "I love you".
And of course my reply
Is "I love you, too".

She's made my world better
In more ways than she'll know.
She's my one in a million
And I love her so.

My gratitude to God
I will never stop giving,
For my beautiful Miranda
Who's made life worth living.

Better Days

Better Days

Many days I have woken up disappointed
I always felt something was missing
like I was living a life of no meaning,
but not today, not for the past year.

My days felt redundant and pointless,
my nights were filled with dreams of something more.
I would wake up and realize my dreams were just that,
but no longer do I need dreams to lift me up.

I wake up with new eyes and new meaning
my days are filled with pride, my nights are restful.
When I am away I look forward to getting back
When I am home I cherish the moments.

My life began the same day yours did
my dreams are reality and my life has meaning.
I see peace and beauty in your eyes,
I feel Gods glory in your smile.

I am living in better days.

Loves Not Supposed To Hurt

This poem was wrote for my daughter.I hope she soon see's the light.

When you left my life had changed.
When I think of you I feel so strange.
My family thinks I've lost my mind.
I'm no longer thoughtful no longer kind.
As I think of you and I look at our child.
My mind and my life is running wild.
You not left me once you left me twice.
That's why it's so hard for my family to be nice.
When we married and you gave me your name.
Now that you left my life will never be the same.
You didn't just walk out on me.
You gave up on our family.
I guess I'll forget about all this and go on with my life.
From what I understand you don't want me as your wife.

Infinite Love

The stars brighten the night,
as you brighten my life,
my world has become you...
I wonder, I worry,
I beam with pride;
I'm lost without you here,
my life seems empty,
my heart is longing.

Our time together is often too short,
but our love spans more than time...
you are my reason for trying,
for caring, for loving;
you touch my soul with
every thought I have of you.

You have become more important
than my life could ever be worth...
I need you much more
than you could ever need me,
you changed my life,
no, you changed me.
My darling precious daughter,
my arms are always wrapped
around you in infinite love.
