Premium Member In Another Time

the waning moonlight thinly enveloped
the dusky canvas obscurely sprawling
across the way from the window I looked,
I knew a park was there with slides and swing
but for the moment dark revealed nothing,
for the moment I didn’t care, either
because in darkness I felt even darker;
I was lying in bed embraced by regret
of decisions of love and time wasted,
spooning the layered sheets of doubt and fret
all thawed out from my heart into my head;
The memories of hurtful comments said
by and to me were chastising voices
of ghostly choices purposed to depress;

As dusk became the night I became lost
in whimsically strewn wishes and pleas
to gods and stars and genies alike, crossed
as eyes crying for mother drowned in seas,
I spoke to nobody but begged for keys
to unlock another time, another place
to start all over again with new space,
To unseen gods I had long since quit on
I prayed, bargained even, another chance
and I’d do everything right this season
  - A jobless man needing a pay advance,
But for thirty three years nary a glance
had alpha or omega set on me
and this night I expected no divine decree;

several hours elapsed as I collapsed
in smoldering thoughts of suicide fanned,
- I had outlasted night’s concealing grasp,
and as the morning sun began its planned
ascent, I gave into Hades’ command
through my tenth floor window whispered to me
of hellish suggestions to jump and flee;
on ledge I stood and looked across the way
for one last glimpse of earth and pastel sky,
- a small souvenir of my final day,
My eyes settled on last night’s park from high
above, and that’s when I saw God’s reply,
 - an unspoken answer for eyes turned blind,
His deafening promise to all mankind;

by his heavenly brushes came colors
where none had been, transforming lonely space
into one of vibrance and life renewed,
- and it was a different space,
I watched as birds celebrated morning
with songs of praise and thankfulness,
- and I felt a quick waning emptiness,
I heard the children below lining up
for the school bus all on time and ready
to live and learn in this new day granted,
-  and I felt like I knew nothing at all;

but then I knew everything all at once,
and I stepped off the ledge ready to live,

ready to embrace
ready to seize life found…

in another time.

Ode To Global Warming

Catastrophe of the dry run

The sea, Ice, air, human are rapture
The powerful are brought to ruin

Green horse making this World hot

        70% is absorbed in heat

18 degrees Celsius balance the heat

Mighty keeper of water in the lands

         Mighty destroyer of Islands

        Changing, charging chastising

          The atmosphere

I see, I am part of your activities

     Burning of coal activities

       Carbon emission, 34%. 2020 activities

350,000 in Britain suffered your hands.

65,000 Dominican Republic feel your hands

500,000 in southern California left home to avoid your hand
Denmark gathered the heads cos of your hand.

The heads accept to make peace.

If only it will go to the heart.

Oh mighty one, tell me how to keep peace,

Is it more of vegetation, so I keep peace?

      Or keep away carbon dioxide

      Nitrous oxide and methane

          for peace.

      Mighty one, tell me

How you can lie low, for peace

I know I used more than
      I put back to you.

Should I have my own forest?
But I know sunspots and solar flares started before me.

REASONS OF WRITING

This poem was writing out of inspiration on hearing and reading how this atmosphere has been badly used and the follow events caused by bad emission to the air, the changing in almost every natural events gave rise and when the heads of states gathered in Denmark to plan for the way forward. It is my contribution on how this atmosphere can be made for a better condition for us all to stay in.

MESSAGE

(1) This poem is a free verse, it run through without break, saying the major event that global warming has cause in the world.

(2) That the heads of states decision in Denmark should be put into practice not mouth say.

(3) That before man (human) started anything sunspots and solar flares started before man

(4) We use more than we put back to nature.

(5) That green vegetations is also a way forward.

(6) Everyman should have his/her own or plant his/her own forest it is possible.

Premium Member People Heal Thy Self

We want to heal-
scab stealers wont allows us too
sneaking up on us-
giving us new busy work
side trackers –
killing us
the only hope we had left
invested in our progeny.
progenitors
Our children become our ancestors
Arrested -
Denied freedom.
assaulted,
Degrading us our offspring.
They make examples out of noble men.
Leaders not knowing what day will
be their personal doomsday while
They recite a healing prayer on balconies
Thinking “is this my end”.
"As they risk healing folks in large crowds with
un-trusted friends watching their backs
Let me get these words in As
We begin to heal from
the power of love.
These "scab thieves’ who snatch
scabs off the old wounds.
Create and open new wounds,
As they dare us to heal.
We fall to the ground.
as the targets keep
Dropping they
Kill the mighty to
Control the weak.
We are angry -No time to heal -
Angry People
Bopping ignorant
Pop ups- Bobble heads, popping up
like bobble heads at a carnival.
We needed the big black men-
who soon after that
Perplexed us
Who were they that stood
on Hunter street?
In front of Paschal Brothers
Over near "Don Clendenin’s"
surrendering
Waving White hankies
at tricks and enemies
We are bleeding now...

The scab makers are winning
where and from wince –
Do they come from?
or go to?
Wall Street or colleges-
White collar preppies-
promoting separate causes.
We still chant
Free Mandela
“we loved him too
They all were gone
to the grave or to prison.
Many wounds open
blood everywhere.
Perplexed.

Things fall apart again in...2013
2013 is here.
We are still with open wounds
Remember now wonder
can we heal if they?

keep re-opening our wounds.
My tolerance is no more for
nincompoops and
Poot—butts, chastising
Empresses and Kings.
Knowing nothing....
While pulling off scabs
Who am I, if I lose focus?
There will be no us-

So, I relent,
Leaving them where
they are - or at least
where I found them!
I really feel that until I die
I have a connection to someone’s
future I have wounds to heal.

I must remember-
“I cannot get angry for you”,
Lest I get stuck fighting your battle.
“I will get angry with you”
I will fight aside of you.

Premium Member I Dream of Sleep

I dream of sleep,
Though when it turns dark,
I try shutting my lids,
But they’re stuck in park.

I seek out the fridge,
Pour milk in a pot.
Then scream out in pain,
Because it’s too hot.

I plop in a funk,
And dream about dreaming,
Which is hard to do
So soon after screaming.

There must be a way
To keep my eyes closed,
For good, through the night,
And not just a doze.

Oh yes, that is it!
I startle myself.
There’s a magical pill
Way back on the shelf.

My feet take their steps,
By two at a time.
An hours flown by,
I don’t have much time.

I yank the door open,
Stand on my toe tips.
Behind the eye-drops,
Under the Q-tips.

Lies a dusty bottle
For those who are tired.
But the date on the label,
Has long since expired.

I turn to the mirror,
My god what a hag.
There’s two bloodshot eyes
Half asleep in their bags.

Speaking of two,
A time so absurd.
My slipper just missed
The prompt cuckoo bird.

Oh sleep my old friend,
I start to pine.
Was that just a yawn,
Now THAT’S a good sign.

With an about-face,
I hurry ahead,
But tripped on my toe
Just short of the bed.

Oh lord why are you
Chastising me?
After righting myself
I saw it was three.

I lay on the mattress,
And there commenced,
To counting sheep,
But they stormed the fence.

There’s no need to panic
Just stay in position.
My muscles relax,
And start their twitching.

Yes finally
I start to snore,
But wake myself up
The clock displays four.

Could this be a dream,
Though I’m still awake?
I’m dreaming of sleep,
But sleep I don’t make.

Maybe I’m sleeping,
It’s a bona fide dream.
Oh what a relief
If you know what I mean.

So tranquil and peaceful,
Good to be alive.
I didn’t once quiver
When the clock struck 5.

My alarm goes to work,
And so does the rooster,
But noticed my feet
Sported only one slipper.

My god, this can’t
Be happening to me.
So I cried and cried
Myself to sleeeeeee…

The Bird On the Hill

The bird on the hill wakes up early in the morning pulling and shaking the awning giving rise to a tempestuous heat that resides in the deep.

It is not one of those cool mornings when everything is in perfect harmony, the stock market is going up and down and the clown is running all over the town, while the distilled water that come from the head starts spilling over in the bed and I stood there waiting for the sun to rise.

The bird on the hill cannot keep still; it keeps moving from floor to floor knocking on the doors, looking for someone to join the pack. It mixes pepper with sugar and sauté honey and vinegar, while piecing together every single argument and scrubbing the dial pad with sediment brought out from the bag. The corn soup is too thick to share, you have to water it down with beer and the morning bears its punishment.

The bird on the hill cannot keep still, it flies from tree to tree increasing the temperature to a hundred degrees. It bellows out loud in the morning chastising men and women of their sins while the sniper waited for the chance to take a shot at it from a distance but the bird on the hill deciphers their tricks and hid in the cockpit.

It has a lot of feathers bundle all together and a gate leading to the shore that lies just behind the door and they waited there with great anticipation.

The bird on the hill cannot keep still, it flew in the middle of the hearing and broke up the benevolent proceedings and when it was done it gave everyone a massage cream to rub in joints and shoulder.

It flew back on top of the hill and starts flying around kicking up a dust storm all over the town, it landed in the middle of the court house stirring up a ferocious storm that sends the jury, the lawyers and judges back to the county to complete the journey.

I stood and watch it unfold in front of my face as the situation enters the final phase, horse on tracks, women in frocks and nude men crouching around the back with their hands covering their privacy and a ribbon stretch across their faces.

The bird on the hill cannot keep still it is waiting for its partner to come back from a trip.

God is almighty Who governs graciously
indeed blessing lives tremendously
sufficing with peace-contentment blissfully...
We thank Him for granting our desires according to His best wisely.

God is eternal Who gives everlasting life's preciousness
truly securing hearts from deceitfulness
assuring heaven through trust in Jesus Christ's sacrifice-completeness...
We praise Him, worshipping in the beauty of His holiness.

God is omniscient Who ushers along His direction
always teaching souls to follow biblical instruction
subduing foolish counsels midst truth-admonition…
We submit to Him our decisions He approves by His Word’s function.

God is merciful Who disciplines by righteous chastising
just in reproving stubbornness, not pleasing
smiting perversions, unbelief, idolatry-bracing...
We entrust to Him our steps while obedience exercising.

God is omnipotent Who empowers through His might, readily constant
verily upholding faith to become fruitfully jubilant
strengthening reaching-out pursuits, lovingly triumphant...
We yield to Him Who makes us spiritually vigilant.

God is tenacious Who asserts holy commandment
and in driving zeal to accomplish by divine engagement
enabling persistence against failures’ detriment…
We honour Him for fixing our duties around His commitment.

Premium Member PRAISE BE TO GOD WHO STAINS OUR VAIN PRIDE

August 1 Praises to God Bible Meditations Based on Isaiah 23-27

Key Verse – Isaiah 23:9 The LORD of hosts hath purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, and to bring into contempt all the honourable of the earth.

PRAISE BE TO GOD WHO STAINS OUR VAIN PRIDE

Praise be to God for staining our vain pride:
Chastising us for our abominations
Chastening us because of our arrogance
Castigating us along our abuses with His assurance
Cleansing us from our addictions by His asserting authority
Changing us being His new creations for His affirmation’s approval

Isaiah 24:14 Praise be to Lord for allowing us
to sign for His majesty that is:
Steadfast in His Scripture’s standards
Settled in His sufficient salvation
Sacrificing in His servanthood
Sovereign in His supremacy
Sure in His strong security

Isaiah 25:1 Praise be to the Saviour for
letting us exalt Him for His:
Name so praiseworthy and His news, verily perfect
Nature so powerful with His “nows” always punctual
Nestling so peaceful and His nearness that is purposive
Nurture so providential along His nevertheless ever punctual
Nourishment so prosperous within His nevers, privilege-packed

Isaiah 26:4 Praise be to the Creator
for enabling us to trust in Him forever as we:
Acknowledge that He is the strength of our victory
Affirm that He is the standard of our virtues
Assert that He is the source of our values
Awake against sinfulness with His valor
Abide in His Scriptures for our vows

Isaiah 27:3 Praise be to the Holy Spirit
for keeping us from:
Harm of hopelessness as well as hurts of helplessness
Heartaches of heresies and hearsays
Hits and horrors of heathenism
Hatred of humanism
Heat of hell. Amen!

Before They Silence My Voice

Before they silence my voice
Under jackboots and bone crushing dogs
I must set fort before dusk
As I am shielded
By his gore
And crafted like Daniel
In the lions den
And Jonah in the whales gut

I must scurry to ventilate
With my traducers
At the gate
Because they engage nocturnally
I shall not look for a black goat
At the witching hour

I discern they loathe me
And my kind
They hiss, gnash their canine
When they hear my strange name
They curse the day
I was sculptured
They question why
My palms, sole are snow
While my soul case nocturnal?

Their revered face, soul case is snow, innocuous
But entrails insidious
As a welders fork

Forty friend's, fiends, foe and counting
Looking for a straw
In hay sack
Sneaking, feigning, meandering;
They huff, puff,
Sniffle, shuffle and snizzle,
Insidiously, frantically, scamper
For a Judas
To bell the cat, dog

How do you bell a cat, dog,
With nine lives?
They mob, sop, smother you
Like ants swam honey
Then,
Forget that like amoeba
Your outer layer
Is a cyst
Which immune your entrails
From vultures insidious fangs

Alas,
Spider's web, bobby traps, mines litter around
But,
A tortoise never gets
Enmeshed in a spider's web,
Big Ben never irretrievably hushed
Or a monkey ambushed
Trailing a snakes shadow

This jaunt is not for the faint-hearted
I have journeyed forty days, nights
In the lions den
In my arsenal is locusts and wild honey
My traducers eyes are crossed;
They are hard at hearing
Their necks are stiff,
They love gold, silver
More than good name

I shall ventilate
What their fore fathers
Did to prophets before me;
Chastising them with whips, scorpion
And because they denied me honor,
I must shake my dust off
Their door posts.
