"So friendly, and so true. That was our Lucy Loo" By poet

Dear sweet Lucy Loo, how I’m missing you.
It’s tragic that we had to let you go,
but it was something that we had to do.
Someone else will love you, and this I know
because you have such sweet and loving ways.
When I first saw you, I was captured by
your beautiful brown eyes. You used to gaze
at me with those cute eyes. It makes me sigh
recalling how you used to lick my face.
Those doggy kisses never bothered me.
Recently I gave you my last embrace.
Your precious face no longer will I see.
May you be fostered soon; you are a pet,
dear Lucy Loo, I never will forget.

Fate ?, Karma ?, life seems to, always be on the edge
as the Nith River let him go, him, it could not hold
and yet the rest of this story needs to be told.

Fate ?, Karma ?, life seems to, always be on the edge
as I escaped the clutches of the raging, Nith river
but not Rea, the Grand captured him, would not deliver.

Fate ?, Karma ?, life seems to, always be on the edge
Until, weeks later, the Grand subsided and gave up my friend.
I had to identify and knew that, that was another end.

Fate ?, Karma ?, life seems to, always be on the edge
and all the arm wrestling matches with the Grim Reaper,
this poem, and my memories hoard could not be a keeper.

Fate ?, Karma ?, life seems to, always be on the edge
and so we come to July 18th 1997 and the light go out
after shining so brightly, for fifty five years, what that about ?

Fate ?, Karma ?, life seems to, always be on the edge
and the rupture of a mid-brain basilar aneurysm
puts my consciousness into the blackness of a chasm.

Fate ?, Karma ?, life seems to, always be on the edge
and cannot, will not keep this old fool down
as he tries to come back to conscious ground.

Fate ?, Karma ?, life seems to, always be on the edge
as the procedure to save was cancelled, due
to the burning out of a forty thousand tube.

Fate ?, Karma ?, life seems to, always be on the edge
as months later, I go back for the procedure
only to have the neuro radiologist re rupture.

Fate ?, Karma ?, life seems to, always be on the edge
of life or death, a forgone conclusion, a journey for all,
but I wonder why it is that I keep missing the call.

Fate ?, Karma ?, life seems to, always be on the edge
and I wonder if the powers that be, not only want me
to suffer on this plane ?, but to suffer for a long. long time.

Life on the edge would certainly become a novel,
if I included all the chapters of my life’s journey
and the many dark places creating my nightmares.

Life on the edge would certainly become a novel,
if I included all the chapters of my life’s journey
and the many bright, glowing spaces that filled my dreams.

Life on the edge would certainly become a novel,
if I included all the chapters of my life’s journey,
extracted from the subconscious, inebriated mind.

Premium Member Into Autumn We Walked

We waved goodbye to the summer skies
As we walked below the last canopies of green
Our memories in awe at mother natures blooms
Appreciative as we witnessed her scene

Fading colourful spectrum's shared many a bed
Butterflies and insects buzz out another year
Yesterdays scents captured in our minds
Her beauty simply amazes, even brings a few tears

The winds through the trees whistle mournful tunes
Whilst the weakened leaves start their spiralling fall
We walk as they drift on the Autumn breeze
To watch their demise leaves an eerie enthral

The evening descends absorbing the light of the day
Giant cathedrals of brown change to an ebony black
Invisible sounds resonate amongst shadows of dark
This seasonal change shows no lack

Hand in hand we have walked through this beautiful park
Stopping and staring at the most beautiful of views
We head back home contemplating tomorrows writes
My girl and I sharing natures inspirational muse

Wayword

She followed love
To an unknown door
Having no idea
What she was there for

The answer to all
Unrelated to situation
Spoke the words
That rang the perfect vibration
...in her soul

He sat in a cell
Boxed in by behavior
A cook in the kitchen
Treated him to a new flavor

She smiled as she presented
The food offered to the throng
A simple gesture displayed
Gave good in the presence of wrong
...systems of thinking

The babies lie in their cribs
Too many to cuddle and hold
But a touch to each
Kept hope alive til words could unfold

Lies that have captured
A culture to believe
That girls are not valued
Beyond what their wombs can conceive
...in a nation of men

There is a Way to Word
That straightens out our mess
No experience, perspective, or position
Could lead us to guess

..........meaning

Premium Member Realm of Romance

The silver moon rises full
in a benevolent glow...like a lamp
hanging from a ceiling of stars
and lights the stairs through a window
as we ascend to another world
filled with candles and fresh-cut roses
awaiting our entrance to this romantic realm
    where we'll light each candle
so our hearts can see the intimacy of stillness
    in our eyes

You slowly cross the room
and I bow to the fluid movement
of each curve of your body
your hands moving as if spinning a lover's web
my breath is captured, my eyes are captured
    by a symphony of motion
tethered without fear to candlelight shades
that becomes a silhouette on the wall
in a timeless serenade of ardency
found in our moment of truth
where love abides by the shared silence
of devoted affection and dreamy misty eyes
draped in a scented balm of roses
that look deep into the soulful eyes of a lover
    seeking the river of sighs
that flows under the bridge of trembling hearts
nourished by the emotional streams of love's existence

Premium Member Kangaroo Court

Kissed and betrayed by one of his own disciples,
Captured and arrested at the Garden of Gethsemane,

Rushed off in the darkness of night as his disciples scattered,
Led away worst than a common criminal to a Kangaroo court,

He was all alone without rules or rights, counsel or attorney at law.
With or without representation, his outcome of guilt was predictable.

His words of defense were non-existent because his time had come to die.
The total words that Jesus spoke were few, but his love for us was huge.

All In the Glow

All in the glow

I hung from the moon with a finger to spare
Captured the stars that you wear in your hair
Hopped on a comet that wasn’t aware
All in the glow of your love

I swan in an ocean of rivers and streams
Rode on a wave that was found in my dreams
Floated for days or that’s just how it seems
All in the glow of your love

I walked through a garden of rose petal pink
Talked with a butterfly that made me think
Watered a poem with morning dew ink
All in the glow of your love

I wake up each day with a smile on my face
Gaze on your beauty I so long to trace
Bask in the warmth I could never replace
All in the glow of your love

Good morning Soupers

Premium Member A Kiss

To be captured by a moment,
searching the eyes
In a world never measured,
as it washes away ... to disappear
with soft falling tears of love
Seeking interludes of passion from fingertip caresses,
leaving sounds of burned sighs,
crying out in unison
Time becomes an ocean of waves,
pulling lover's through a realm of dreams,
into tomorrow
Trapped by silk webs of love that enslaves,
searching the eyes
Touching the heart ... lost in tenderness,
that inhales love's fragrant breath in quiet spaces,
trembling soft ...ever holy
before it abandons its rules
Kissing the mouth ... without restraint

Premium Member Made To Be Beautiful

Some days are made to be beautiful
                                They are made to shine
Not just gaze of gleaming sun
                                But for love that’s mine

The love of friends who share a smile
                                      A snapshot to recall
The warmth that grows from deep within
                                   As snow begins to fall

For joy in sharing wedded love
                                    A lifelong, loving day
Captured in a careful thought
                                      Safely tucked away

Love, so many kinds of love
                                        Love of life I know
Pausing, just to glimpse the stars
                                        As they twinkle so

Some days are made to be beautiful
                                          Memories to take
When looking back, so many days
                              I’ve been blessed to wake
