In your stern face
Poise mellows grace
In a good place
Know beyond space
A certain grace
Sets time in place
In your calm cheer
Love now draws near
In focus clear
Feel how you feel
To know goodwill
That now reveals
In your fond state
Breeze through these gates
To meet due fate
See what you see
That joy may be
True worth set free
In your kind eyes
Such lavish sighs
Caress each high
Think upon hope
That sculpts grand scope
As touch now copes
In your wise wit
Meet each calm hit
That anchors fit
Touch tells of ease
In spacious peace
As light pays lease
In your good times
Embrace each chime
Sketch words that rhyme

The loneliest road I’ve taken winds, unseen,
Through shadowed woods where no bright of day can find,
Past bushes low and trees of whispering green,
Each root and leaf in tangled paths entwined.
The bees drift softly, droning round my ear,
In solitude, their gentle hums resound—
A music sweet, yet haunting, sharp and clear,
Among the hidden corners of the ground.
The ocean’s breath is far yet finds me here,
A murmuring breeze through every pine,
It stirs the leaves like distant worlds I see,
A ghostly touch, a presence soft, so heavenly.
I walk alone, yet never quite alone,
The wilds my heart with tender sighs you console;
For on this path, though every steps unknown,
The earth itself is keeper of my soul.
Love rests in places that are safe to be
Where there is truth and trust that is real
No shaking earthquakes or storms to see
Love rests with words, you can confide and feel
No thunder clap surprises, consistent at best
Where there is truth and trust that is real
Love rests with the sunset each day in the West
With giving and sacrifice, open as the sea
No thunder clap surprises, consistent at best
Love rests with belief and dedication, willingly
Flowing softly like the breeze through the trees
With giving and sacrifice, open as the sea
Love rests in our hearts, always there for free
To know this, act on this, to become it all
Flowing like the soft breeze through the trees
Love can lift us higher to places we don’t fall
Love rests in places that are safe to be
To know this, act on this, to become it all
No shaking earthquake or storms to see

Amongst the oaks and the maples and shrubbery so green
Runs a translucent flow, a stream so pristine
It's meandering contours hugging the land
Takes me back to the day, we met unplanned
The sky was pale blue on this hot summers day
Cotton wool clouds in mesmerising display
It's as if you could reach out and brush with your hand
This candy floss coating ceiling our land
Many meadows I walked through capturing the sounds
Listening to her marvels in cinema surround
Technicolour rainbows so radiant to the eye
Such beauty in nature, understandably why
I reach the turn-style that leads to the forest walk
Listening to the breeze through the trees as if they talk
These pillars of stature, as old as grandfathers years
Many stories they could tell, that would bring you to many tears
As I stroll through the leafy lanes, mapped out over many years
Trampled underfoot by it's inhabitants, badgers and beautiful red deer
I now reach the stream as I follow it's meandering flow
To a pool at it's end where past maidens bathed in glow
My ears now pick up sounds of singing and a splashing
Resonating from the pool, a glimpse of pink now flashing
A lady stands before me, bathing in the stream
Scarlet clothing in sporadic lay, am I in some kind of dream
I call out to this beauty as she turns and looks at me
Towards the bank she walks, and invites me in with she
Knee deep in crystal waters our bodies close in touch
My clothing now drifts away, the two of us in clutch
Into our eyes we both now look as blood flows through my veins
Her touch is soft and gentle, my hands now stroke her mane
Deeper we edge out as she floats and hugs my waist
The two of us in join in this beautiful serene quiet place
Our emotion creates commotion as our undulations reach the shore
Ripples of joy they are as underwater hands explore
The coldness incites a reaction, in pert and firm caress
In delightful blend we release, two souls in loving press
Kissing we reach the bank, on her summer dress we lie
Sighing in breathless spoon, we stare at the green canopy sky
Many, many hours have passed, lying naked below the peeking sun
This is the day I met my scarlet woman, the day our lives began

From deep within beyond all noise,
Known yet unseen my soul knows poise.
A certain thrill prompts my own voice,
Sense fond goodwill move heart's fine choice.
I go my way and do my thing,
Breeze through the day with dream that flings.
Each moment now weaves ample range,
Cheer does endow themes light yet strange.
I cease to write to just expound,
Thoughts come to cite how love gains ground.
I sit and wait upon the wind,
Joy frames grand fate here in-between.
Feelings rush out with easy strain,
I need not shout yet truth casts plain.
Love primes my ease with profound grace,
I live sure peace as light greets space.
Wit humours tease with worthwhile style,
Verse lines now lease such fragrant smiles.
I look to joy to humour fest,
Play fondles ploy with brilliant zest.

To where does my soul belong?
at times my meandering mind wonders…
Is it to the vast blue of the boundless sky
or the tangerine rays of the sun at the crack of dawn
or to those stars that glisten in it when light descends and night ascends?
Is it to the fluttering wings of the luminous iridescent blue butterflies
or the petals of gorgeous tulips that greet me to a dreamy paradise
or to the melodious tinkling of the temple bells in the morning?
It is to the mango tree that I see every day from my kitchen window
or its green leaves, twigs, trunk and roots
or the playful bushy-tailed squirrel
that scampers from one branch to another
or to the little brown sparrow
that chirps cheerfully in one of its branches?
Is it to the blank laptop screen that I was staring at a while ago
or these scribbles filling the white screen little by little
or to the flapping of multi-hued wings of my vivid imagination
that soars high and glides, as I write this poem,
smoothly transgressing the boundaries created by reality?
Is it to the tune of my favorite melody I hum often
or the swing that oscillates in my mind whenever I sing it
or to the breeze through which my humming gently wafts?
Is it to the rhythmic ebb and flow
of the silvery waves of the cerulean blue sea
or to the tiny boat far out there, bobbing up and down the waves?
Is it to the gleaming full moon spreading soft light at midnight
or the wick of the flickering candle diffusing hope in darkness
or to the buds finding way to bloom at the trench of rocky soil?
Is it to the relaxed, steady-paced ticking of the needles of time
or the lull of stillness of the pitch-dark night
or the evanescent dreams I get before sunrise
or to the sweet aroma of coffee waking up my senses in the morning?
Is it to the refreshing drizzle of the memories of childhood
or the pleasant petrichor after the first summer rain
or to the arc of vibrant spectrum of colors of the rainbow that emerges?
Unbound, yet bound….
In the all-pervading cosmic tapestry,
to where does my soul belong?
What goes on in the mind of the rain drop
that clings to the tip of a leaf
and is about to fall to the ground beneath?
“Do I belong to the leaf or to the soil underneath?”
I have lived under towering skies, in the shadow of cold, silent laws,
Never bowing beneath their absolute powers and their flaws,
I sought not the blazing storms in their crystal goblets of might,
For they feed on our turmoil, our ancestral plight.
Authority, a heavy phantom, hidden control in the shade,
A player on the world’s stage, a game of masks cleverly laid,
It must be mocked, like a magician who hides his trick from view,
Deceived and evaded like a river changing its course anew.
If peace flows in your veins like a gentle river of living silver,
Let it settle in your soul like morning dew on a tender shiver,
If love burns in your heart like a fire lit in the night,
Live it like an echo of falling stars, whispering light.
If you believe in all the winds, like the breeze through the wheat field,
Live freely and fearlessly, like a river that will not yield,
For you may end up contradicting yourself, a shadow on time’s wall,
If you wish to change the world, start with yourself, heed the call.
Just as the ocean shapes the rocks with patience and time’s grace,
Let time be your ally, find your strength, embrace your place,
Dance with shadows, sing with the echo of the high and solemn mount,
Laugh with the stars in the endless night, shine like a lighthouse to count.
This is the art of living outside the law, without losing your path in the run,
Be the protagonist of your dreams, sculptor of your fate, heart of the sun,
A traveler in search of self, on the eternal road to becoming,
Painting your dreams on the morning sky, with desires brightly humming.
Ever had chase fest for a runaway balloon,
that's going places, underused, under benches,
high fiving branches,
becoming a star to the onlooking masses?
Convenient how it knows,
that we have each other for a hug,
of gratitude undercover-glued tight against the squall
like a tether, having a ball with you.
Can you feel the love? Convenient how it knows,
when your teeth needs a bug
when you're convertable-ing it to the mall in a VW.
A curious thing indeed, the wind,
as it rifles through your papers,
thorough and true and takes a how do you do,
peruse, at how you, "how you do in" ,
on your way home from school.
It may breeze through a good book
like a critic looking for something cool to lick.
Acting as a reactor, it is definitely a factor,
it could be a mysterious force's comedy actor,
a punchline to a joke,
that sometimes seems right on cue.
Giving your ribs a good poking too.
It makes me laugh, for example,
to hear my kite buddy cheer,
for height and for sheer, and then he gets it,
gets it right up there, almost free and clear.
Just when the kite begins to go
where eagles only dare, it plummets below,
it veers, right, after squirrels, cones and needles,
skulls and crossbones, party favors, after freefall
it gets stuck in a tree,
belonging to that of our neighbors?
Love means a wild whistle
A soft breeze through the window
Creating ruffles in the mind
Love means patter patter rains
Echoes of spring, dance of rongali
Love means the sunshine of aahar
Dreams of painting green on a brown scrape
Love means waves in the water
Wish to hold onto the sky
Love means moonlight magic
Unknowingly discovering the Buddha
Love means eksaran
Self-submission in his intoxication
Love means acceptance
Shivering dewdrops on sewali
Love means rebellion
Konwar being hanged, tears of 1857
Love means a blood bathed
Afternoon in Gohpur of ‘42
Love means the fire of ‘83
Dying to keep love alive
Love means the smell of bokul
Kept inside books
Somethings tried to be forgotten
But unforgettable…!

I’m sitting on my lawn chair
Outside the night is cool
I hear the trees swaying
The breeze chills my skin
It knocks on my hippocampus
Am I here or where it blows?
Breeze, you are timeless
From queens to divas, the same
You carry me back to my childhood
You go from high to my lows
You leave me bereft as you leave
You come at my like a windmill
Alone I’m ash on your windy night
It takes a Starry Night like tonight
It takes a Van Gogh to go with you
I would go mad like the wind
I would chase that lonesome boy
I would ride his Sirocco to him
But I am too sane to be a zephyr
Enough wind, it’s time to go in
Make sure the windows are closed
No wind, you can’t get to me
No, you will not breeze through me
The nostalgia you profess is shuddered
The lonesome boy is here within
I wish you would take him with you
But, that would mean we are you
When I’m dust we’ll both join you
We’ll chase the highs to lows
Come and visit me next time
I’ll bundle up and be ready
Just in case you carry me away
I won’t repeat what Vincent did
When he met you on a …
Starry, starry night
