I walked down the track
in the afternoon
ten years of memories
cut in too soon.
I started to sweat,
I had no room,
and overhead
a sonic boom.
It’s far too early
to ask the moon
just what the fu*k
am I doing here.
We reminisce
a thousand times
of drinking, swimming,
blowing minds.
Meeting people,
friendships bind
sitting under
those massive pines.
Contemplating,
rehearsing lines
but can’t you see
I don’t want this?
Sure, I remember
the early days,
the barbecues,
the summer haze,
the rising tides
in mangrove bays -
constant laughter
and bloodshot gaze,
but I tell myself it
was just a phase...
and at thirty-three
I’m beyond that.

At the end of Chatham Ave lies a public reserve
or park on the shores of the upper Waitemata
Harbour in Paremoremo, just north of Auckland
in New Zealand. A time and place of no return.
I want a girl who rides with me on Sunday mornings
Because everything about her says take me to church
Curves make me yell preach
We a little late but she says a queen always arrives on time
The service is touching my heart, but I keep checking my watch for the time
Because I just want to touch your soul with my lips
Honestly your body has become meditation for me, and I just want to say a little prayer in the comfort of our home
Your walls a sanctuary, sacred, symbolizing the synchronization of our holy matrimony
You look so good in that dress, but my favorite part is letting my teeth undress
You,
Got me on my heels in them heels but I’ll still have you speaking in tongues
Tied like my bow tie, slick in these pants but never slacking
Your body is a sermon and I’m ready to preach
Memorizing every curvature like the scriptures indeed
You’re aging like fine wine
I still marvel at the congregation of you like I’m admiring a sculpture in marble
The shadows, the reflected light, the message of your art reminds me of a Sunday
If she takes you to church turn to your neighbor and say,
p.s. Amen…
Hail holy queen
Mother of compassion
With a beauty that's rarely
seen
Mother of all nation
With a heart full of love
She's the queen of heaven
That blesses her children
from above
And takes away their heavy
burden.
She's the mother of our
saviour
Created with an
immaculate heart
A priceless heart full of love
beyond measure
That restore hope to those
whose lives have been tore
apart.
Mother of divine grace
That incarnate the only
begotten son
And gave birth to
redemption for the sake of
human race
A price that can be paid by
none.
She's the queen of the holy
rosary
And mother of perpetual
goodness
That defeat every misery
And brings everlasting
happiness.
Mother of theological and
cardinal virtues
And refuge of sinners
With an angelic love you
can't refuse
That makes her children
winners.
She's the queen of peace
And mother of good council
With her peace never on a
lease
To those whose lives have
been on a down hill.
She's the seat of wisdom
And the gateway to heaven
For she's the queen of
GOD'S kingdom
And amazing like the stars
of heaven.
She's GOD'S immaculate
creation
Conceived without original
sin
Mother of all nation
With a loving heart never
been seen.
She's the mother of all
mothers
With a heart full of mercy
An epitome of good morals
With the fate of the world at
her mercy.
Gentle as motherly wind, your sacred place
Children we are embraced by a warm caress
Oh Ave Maria, filled with love around;
Bestowing us gifts of peace through times blessed.
No unfinished trials here, or short mown days
As a guiding hand protects our daily tread,
While we implore the Angelus by heart
Your presence sprays beads of comfort overhead.
Feminine god of mercy, Crown of all souls
Your tender strength abides within, like the night
That imbues a power of wholeness in us;
Collecting our tears with serenity’s delight.
Though worries may crumble under seasons’ rain
Ave Maria, such grace plods hearts to row
By lifting us with a message from your breath,
A whisper that overcomes life’s Lent, we glow!
