Premium Member Sipping Coffee

In the tawny twilight hours at the edge of the void life,
perched on the sea shore of foaming contention,
with the coffee cup full of fulfillment in hand I see
the dusky desires reach the drowning horizon in fraction.

The aromatic spectrum of the sunburst ecstasy brewed,
surges from the swirl of aquatic gold in satiation breeze.
In my enraptured perception it turns into elixir,
fill my craving cup and I drink delighted to the lees.

In my voyage in the shore of the fathomless faith,
the fragrance of my soulful satisfaction I offer Him.
The surrendered essence yearns to devoutly discern
His euphoric perception, configured as bliss supreme.

In the precincts of divinity I stand resolutely relinquished,
surrender to Him my possession of enchantment I prize,
offering Him my happiness to my heart’s content,
I feel the joy of the absolute sparkle in my eyes.

My submission kindles the candle of God’s benevolence,
in its halo I perceive His power and presence spread,
repulsing from my revived life the miasma of misery,
and I discover the new me finding the holy path ahead.

“God within me is the enjoyer of the aroma
As also this dopamine boosting flavour I taste
I surrender all pleasures to the dweller of my heart
Breath by breath thus that my soul presence be chaste”

Candescent Mermaid Myth

Candescent Mermaid Myth

Aquatic manifestation of magnificence, with a fishtail
Awe-inspiring, and alluring, all men on deck are mystified and adoring
Embraced by disbelief, while enchanted by
The fairytale fantasy from the deep
A treasure so precious and rare, all the gods of the sea wouldn't dare.

Yet there the elegant essence abounds, as this she thing,
this flawless and flowing beautification is an entity, not of this reality
The something of never, that all throughout time
Was hoped to be forevermore, so hear the bells chime.

Precocious and demure yet with long wild flowing waves of hair
She arose ethereal, seemingly directly up from the seafoam
Hypnotic and enigmatic - illustrious and illusionary
Regardless of her enthralling beauty, disquiet, and oceanic wiles
Embraced the realm of real, of which all there could feel
This was an iconic moment, that which was what everyone was experiencing.

One and all, the magnitude was as such that the fact of a MERMAID
Amongst us, was just too much
Regardless of the actual visualization of a creature so mythical
So magical, so obscure, and candescent
FREEZEFRAME a portrait in time
Mermaids aren't real, half human, half fish, come on, not in this sit'ch
So put that thought to sleep, and you guys stay on the boat
And forget what you thought you'd seen
You're just having a Poe moment of a "Dream within A Dream."
Now what do you say we go ask the Mistress Mermaid
If she wants to get an ice-cream

The long journey
of the slithering stream
on the languid lap
of pensive plateau,
meandering montage
in ebony melancholy
of forlorn forest,
flows on contorted contours
of languishing leaned land
at cataracts askew.
The vibrant visage
of fantasy flight
of fluidized swan feather,
serenading in monotone,
resonates in the silence
of verdant emerald,
the tune of tranquil time
ripples with the echo
of ethereal euphoria.

The aquatic flow
of fizzy champagne surge,
dancing with the cadence
of esoteric ecstasy
in sculpted split course
around obdurate boulders,
deposed defiant
with mesmeric malachite glow,
amidst patina of plants,
drenched by the drizzle
of the setting scarlet sun
in the sequined sky,
illumines the mystique mist
of diaphanous drape,
rising slow
as suspended strata,
unlayered exaltation
lifts the shroud of sorrow
from the austere alcove
of my amorphous anguish,
makes me revere
the seraphic scene,
the effervescent extant,
timeless…

Smore Sprawling Poppycock

S'more sprawling poppycock

Chock·a·block discombobulated poem
for your reading pleasure
dashed off ad hoc
my final literary endeavor before
hour hand affixed
to intricately carved cuckoo clock
displaying carved leaves, birds,
deer heads (Jagdstück design),
other animals, aquatic militia man,

etc feigns firing flintlock
(announcing onset of
daylight savings times)
said French soldier christened Jacque
dipping paddles of oarlock
into time stream
as the sun beats down,
he doth shockingly unfrock.

Once again modest wily word wizard
sports, struts his stuff inarguably
a blinding blizzard
of poetic gumbo mumbo jumbo,
his convoluted crafted vizard
easily misinterpreted as offal
lee batty, quirky, snooty, trippy...
who honestly doesn't know A from izzard.

The ticking seconds will not wait
while yours feebly cobbles etches
across blank figurative slate
lame resultant impasse I narrate
experiencing disappointment
earlier spurt of balderdash,
gibberish, rubbish... which I hate
yet must suffice impossible mission
to complete satisfactory poem does agitate.

Vainglorious idea to employ
daylight savings time
even a mediocre reasonable rhyme
futile effort finds current strife prime
juncture to breakaway
and resume later nighttime or
call writing aspiration quits
crowded house that for being sublime?

Unlikely literary pursuit or aim
will find yours truly a best seller
never experiencing accolades
nor remuneration to claim
truth be told, cuz I haint seeking
neither fortune nor fame.

The principle impetus explaining zeal
to discipline generic human to hone
his ability, where basic blocks of English
language (words) linkedin incorporating
mental cogs and gears mesh
making (mishmash) as figurative wheel
in the sky keeps on turning

perhaps divine intervention
intercedes as yours truly takes
lock, stock, and barrel of himself, one
bumbling, grumbling, tumbling schlemiel
cue hapless characteristic vagrant tramp
as viewed courtesy black and white newsreel
enroute to meet cobbler, cuz worn out heel
actually kind individual stopped to offer hobo
an uber lyft courtesy fancy automobile.

Premium Member My Virtual Life and Aquarium

I visit the Serengeti plains in Africa occasionally,
as well as the beautiful wilderness of Alaska known as Denali.
The Amazon rainforest is also frequented by yours truly.
I've seen such beautiful wildlife of many varied specie.
I've viewed landscapes so beautiful that I found it difficult to breath.
but this is my virtual life displayed on my monitor's large screen
as it plays my 6 hour custom made Nature DVD.
I've witnessed awesome animal behavior of so many specie
and wonders of the world like you wouldn't believe
and although this isn't reality
my virtual life for 6 hours is ever so serene.

In my neighborhood, this is enjoyed by everyone.
I'm talking about my virtual aquarium.
One of my flat screen TVs
fits perfectly
facing outside my window for all outside passing to see.
Before long a crowd has gathered outside my window.
An audience stops briefly to enjoy a show
of sea lions beneath water frolicking and having fun.
Magnificent coral reefs supporting so many intricate eco systems.
Grizzly bears swimming underwater during the salmon run.
Dolphins, whales and other aquatic mammals giving birth and raising their young.
Everyone in my neighborhood loves my virtual aquarium.
This is another 6 hour DVD
custom made and produced by yours truly.

Premium Member Along the Canal

The canal poked like a finger
into the wrinkled abdomen
of the Port. Along its length,
ketches once bruised
wooden wharves unloading wheat
shipped from outports across the gulf.
Pigeons stalked the spill of grain
from hessian bags torn
by wharfies hooks. Port Adelaide’s
pigeons were kept well fed.

I can remember being harnessed
to a pole and taught to swim
in the cold, dark waters of the canal.
I thrashed and kicked but could not float.
I did not have my fathers dolphin grace
whose aquatic triumphs were engraved
on a silver trophy that stood proud
atop a fireplace shelf.

In its final days the canal slowed
to a halt. Wharves were empty
and gave way to rot. In the end,
dump trucks cascaded fill down
embankments until it choked.
A car park now seals its grave
where plastic bags sail endlessly
across an asphalt lake.
A shopping precinct recalls its name
in gaudy signage.

Memory still has me dangling
on the end of a pole, flailing arms
desperately searching for something
solid to hold, suspended
like a lead weight
above a cold abyss.

Premium Member A Looming Fog

I feel as if I'm on a boat,
floating on a narrow river,
driven between its banks
by an invisible strong current,
leading me to God knows where.
On either side tall upright poplars
stand on guard as if I might try to escape.

An early greenish hue tints all
and ahead of me I see
a cloudy thick fog.
I wonder who is watching there,
hidden in the thick haze.
I wonder why I am where I am.
Where has my memory gone?
Is anyone hiding behind the trees?
Maybe I have lost my bearings.
Why all these questions in my mind?
Or perhaps I’m dreaming.

Suddenly I notice ahead of me
a fork in the river.
Now I am in a checkmate of indecision
Especially since the river current stopped.
Where must I go?
Left or right?
Am I going north or south?
The fog is no help.
The aquatic crossroad confuses.
I know not which way to take.
Shall I let the river decide?
I must take the right at least,
but which is the right?
Take my bearings with my right hand?

I hear an inner voice:
"Wake up, take up the oars.
Life is what you make it,
stand on your two feet,
do what is right,
or enter into oblivion
into that looming fog."

Lollygagging scaly lizards lying on dry land;
Tiny slimy sluggish snails crawling in long trails;
Small stygian scorpions springing up from sand
to kill with fast-slashing claws and horrid stinging tails!

Big outlandish parrots saucy and too shrill -
not as any owls I know, hoot-hooting all through night.
Calling from a willow’s limb – a tawny whippoorwill;
Sailing high in big sky – cardinals so bright!

Myriad magical fish with a colorful glow;
Scuba way down low; look at what coral fish can do.
Most playful of animals aquatic – do you know?
Burly, gray, and brainy – dolphins clap for you!

Sunny days of amber
Start daylight summer.
Skyline clear, veils of clouds' scatter.
Sunshine silhouettes placid and plenty
Sustain vivid space for dreaming beauty.
Sparrow sisters spirit chirp,
Scene engaging melody urp.
Semi-aquatic bullfrogs sing a cappella
Sight of festy aerial dragonfly’s gala.
Serendipity cast most timely,
Spontaneous lavish rain sublimely.
Smell of rain swaddles Nature finely.
Scintillating wet spatter collaborative.
Sun shines through raindrops weave,
Seamless hues, stretch of favorite colors mark,
Symbolic eternal life rainbow arc.
