Premium Member A Shared Treasure

A one in a million lady
Now sixty years old
She still jumps over the wall
I still get a kick out of people gasping
When they witness her doing it…

A lady that is a mother to many
Even without asking they open up
They share their deepest fears with her…

I sometimes become jealous,
Feeling deprived of precious time with her
But then I look at how blessed I am,
To still have my mom with me
Even if I have to share her,
With the rest of my community…

Her laughter, with ears willing to listen
To give a hug,
To wipe a tear,
She is my brightest star,
Even if she thinks, she is nothing special
To me she is one in a million,
To me she means the world...

                                                                                                      by: Wilma Neels

Premium Member Coff-O-Holics

Tim Horton's and Starbucks are cropping up
On just about every corner
We've become a nation of coff-o-holics
My choice is obviously the former

Being Canadian and a hockey aficionado
One of the reasons for my choice
Tim Horton played for the Toronto Maple Leafs
In the 50s and 60s we rejoiced

He tragically died in an automobile accident
On a highway in February '74
Just before this great franchise took flight
And became a “one on every corner” goal

What a sad ending but his name will live on
Becoming part of Canada's culture
Was destined to become a very wealthy man
Until his very untimely departure

Premium Member Man Born of Woman Few Days and Full of Trouble-

I am here but for a little while
Just here for a little while
Just a thought a verb momentarily turned
Into action procreated for the Nations
Out of love it's to no man
all is the same
Man that is born,
birth of a woman is of a few days and full of trouble

Man born of a woman is of a few days and full of trouble Man born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble

He sprung for Rises up as a flower and it is cut down he Fleees as a shadow continues not without the sun the sun Rises in the moon falls they have him with Rusty Nails
They serve him water but it's vinegar
A bit of liquid I'm sure and do you open your eyes to such a one
And do you open your eyes to such a one not
To open your eyes to such an one
For a man that is born of a woman is of a few days and full of trouble

Man birth of a woman is of a few days and full of trouble Man born of a woman is of a few days and full of trouble

He Bringeth forth Rises up as a flower who can bring a clean Things out of an unclean thing not I see my days are, determined by the numbers of months
Are not free appointed the bonds that I can't pass hide me My flesh shall not always last
I won't deny I praise Him even now
Worms crawling out of My Flesh rot in sores and boils covering me from head to toe
All over my chest
I won't relinquish
I will still continue to praise Him even after
And now before and after while in peace and War
In pain and sorrow yet I remain I say ABBA Father
Man that is born of a woman is of a few days and full of trouble
He bring forth then Rises up as a flower

For a man born of a woman is of a few days and full of trouble

Premium Member Long Live the Sillies

Enough is enough of this seriousness
Back to the sillies where I belong
Here's something to ponder, my friends
Why is the word 'abbreviation' so long

I don't usually have to think twice
Before giving it a second thought
You're schizophrenic? That makes four of us
Skydiving is good to the last drop

Have you heard that gravity is a myth
In reality, it's the Earth that sucks
Did you know old people have a secret
That secret is known as luck

You know you have a small apartment
When Kellogg's Coco Pops echo
Maybe our world is another planet's hell
Sure wouldn't surprise me to know

Why do psychics have to ask you your name
Going to live forever... so far so good
I adore you more than beans and rice
If I could love you more I would

They say, hard work pays off in the future
I say, laziness pays off now
Some sage advice, never ever stand close
To the back end of a cow

All those who believe in psycho kinesis
Will you please raise my hand
People usually wind up in a prone position
While involved in a one night STAND

What happens if you get scared to death twice
What do sheep count to help them sleep
Ever wonder why all blackboards are green
Do birds shake wings when they greet

Premium Member Her Way

There once was a time
I called you just about every day
Years ago, that almost feel like yesterday
My friends may have thought I was a mama's boy
But that was okay
I'd call you anyway
Always interested in what you had to say

Now I ponder the time I've wasted
The hours I've lost
I guess living life has a cost
As within daily living we're tossed
Grown up problems and being bossed
Getting older
Hair turning to frost

I might call less
But you I'd never forget
Loving you is a sure bet
I know you will always listen
Whether I'm happy or upset
You're the one in my corner
When others think I'm all wet

Other's might have frilly moms
I love that you are strong
Your hugs one of my favorite things
They make me feel like I belong
So important
When sometime things go wrong
I know that you and me will always get along

So on this coming mother's day
I'll give thanks as I pray
Appreciative that you are more than okay
You are a one of a kind
My favorite
A true original
Better than Frank Sinatra
No apologies
Outrageous
Wonderful woman
Doing it your way!

I love you mom
Happy Birthday!

Vain mankind, you measure and image objectives
You build, and tear down, errect and level the fomer,
Lauded structures, become despised, as you search
For validation ' as you sense the cold expanse of
Eternity, and its structure ' always expanding it has no
Base known to humanity.' Man cannot fathom or weigh
Its complexlity, its simple existence mesmerises us
As we struggle with basic human needs.' As we value
That which we posses. Yet will never own.' As so many
Elevate themselves to claim kingship, to promote war
And to control, they are lost in their aging..in the shell
Of decompisition, they place their trust, plot courses
And yet know they must depart.' For God is tearing them
Apart, dissasembling, to cast away the dross, to reshape
The clay.' Man rages in vain against his creator; he copies
And yet curses, denigrates others to obtain more yet
Will never own more..More than a chance! a one time
Opportunity to recieve enlightenment, through Jesus
Christ, the gift of God, the Holy Spirit wafts and waves
Over us morning and night.' Awake to salvation embrace
The light.'

The Ultimate Makeover: To Be Born Again

the ultimate makeover is to have a Godly change
It's not about a new home or car
nor your furniture being re-arranged
the ultimate makeover that God wants to see
a makeover that occurs inside of thee
a makeover that concerns
your heart, your mind and your thoughts
It's not about the carnal nature of man
nor the lessons in school you've been taught
It's about every experience and those times
when you've encountered God
it's about being born again
a makeover of your spiritual heart

think about all those times
you got through situations unscathed
do you realize that It was the will of God
by which you were saved?
think about that little voice
that is sometimes in your head
that voice that guided you was not instinct,
but the Holy Spirit instead
It's about all of life's situations, trials and tribulations
and whether or not you've grown from them
and got some life altering clarification

to be born again, It's not just a one time event
to be born in Christ where God's word is ever present
life is a continuous journey
and to live it you can't just stand still
It's a sacred path you must follow
in order to abide by God's will
so have you been made over
or have you only been made up?
have you changed your inner person
with a renewed spiritual cup?

the challenge in life is not to be focused
only with the outer shell
It's to be concerned with the places
where your inner being dwells
to be all that God wants you to be
you need to get a Christian life insurance policy

for God is a constant
He will never change nor become passe
we need to more like Him
in everything we do and say

Jehovah Jyra, my provider
Jehovah Neshee, my battle fighter
Jehovah Sharma, the ever present one
Jehovah Tiscado, the Righteous Son
In the presence of The Holy Spirit that dwells within
the ultimate makeover is to be born again

Premium Member Smelling With Juniper

I took our son and daughter-in-law’s dog, Juniper, for a walk this morning.
Junie still acts like a puppy even though she’s already 3…
So it’s fair to say, in retrospect…Junie was walking me.

Even though I had the leash…we zig-zagged down the paths she chose…
on a walk usually dominated by my eyes…today, thanks to Junie, I got to use my nose.

I imagine the two of us made a strange yet wonderful sight..
as we stopped to smell every flower still blooming in the night.

I wonder if people looking out their windows did a double-take…or would stare
as we often stopped…raised up our noses…to smell the jasmine in the air.

Junie stopped every chance she could…at every tree…big or small…
and I have to admit many of the scents she detected…I couldn’t smell at all.

Junie could however and on our walk together…she didn’t miss a one….
by the smile on her face I could see…she was having fun.

I tried to turn her attention skyward…to the stars where dreams and imaginations dwell….
but she was only interested in the things that she could smell.

So…every time we stopped to smell (which at last count was 2302)
I would take a deep breath in through my nose…and try to smell it too.

As I say I wasn’t always successful….but it was fun trying..and once more….
Junie introduced me to a host of morning smells…I had never smelled before.

I believe we are all put on this Earth to be kind and to learn from on another
Why else would the creators make us?
So I was happy on this morning walk…to go wherever Junie’s nose would take us.

I thanked her when we returned home and I promised her
on my walks from now on…whatever path I chose…
I would not only use my eyes…but I would also use my nose.

*a side note:
I walked my normal 2 miles by the time we returned to our front door…
but I’m sure the way Junie zigged and zagged…she walked at least two more.

Dream Cat

I WAS TRAVELING DOWN A ONE WAY ROAD
IN SEARCH OF A FANCIFUL DREAM ,
ALONG THE WAY I ENCOUNTERED A CAT
           HIS FUR BRIGHTLY GREEN .
I KNOW WHAT YOU SEEK SAID THE CAT
HE SAID WITH A MENACING GRIN ,
I WILL GIVE YOU THE DREAM , THE ONE YOU SEEK
BUT IT WILL COST YOU IN THE END .
WITH A PUZZLED LOOK I ACCEPTED HIS DEAL
AND THE WORLD BEGAN TO CHANGE ,
I ENTERED A DREAM BUT IT WASN'T MINE
BUT IT WAS SOMETHING VERY STRANGE .
I WAS WALKING AROUND UPSIDE DOWN
BACK WHERE IT ALL BEGAN ,
WHERE I MET THIS CAT WITH BRIGHT GREEN FUR
           A CAT WITH A MENACING GRIN !
