Of them our rulers
To the pauperised people.
Of a kingdom surrounded
By millions of the “Almajeris” .
Of looters in power up towers
Thinking not to leave forever.
Of the Northern cabals
With donkey years in power,
Of them with the stench of the “Almajeris”.
Of the Bush –Pig with the
Hyenas on the Rock
Of them the gluttons and the greed
Of them that devours our resources daily
Of them the Southern vultures
That condemns us into misery.
Of them that worn for millions
Toga of millions of poverty . . “Almajeris”
Of them the Urchins who
Made us suffer amidst bounty.
Off them the Predator millionaires,
We shall seize power for the millions
For the time to wrestle and dazzle
To yank off the toga of the “Almajeris” is now.

Arising from bed this morning about half-past five, I was delighted once again to be greeted with a September morning. A hearty good morning to you, my beloved September. There are choice memories of you that I am compelled to consider. Not only was I born on a noonday in September, but the birth of Autumn also appears on the 22nd of September. And like the memory of 30 years ago when I first heard a song with September in its title*. I shall never forget the place and scenery when I heard the song. That song has become one of my favorites, and like you September, it's so refreshing and delightful each time I hear it.
The summer heat sometimes flows into you like an over-heated engine. Like today, in my area of the country, it's going to be 111 degrees. Nevertheless, there is still this mindset focused and filled with ''goodbyes'' to the century-plus temperature days and ''hello's" to Fahrenheit numbers on the downside.
My sweet September, I like to feel the gentle and tender roll of your name across my lips: Sep tem ber. And I love the soothing sounds of Sep tem ber flowing into my ears. You are like a bridge connecting two extremes. You bring the season of Autumn to separate 'heat from cold'.
I hasten to add that we have a dear friend named June who is most delightful and kind. There is no denying that July is a beautiful word. And what's not to like about a name like August? I suspect that the three summer months provide more sunshine and light up our world more than any other. But it's you, September, that I most adore; and I truly love you more.

Birds
arouse
sweet cadence.
They soar and glide
in vivid feather.
Their mellow chirps infuse
a mint green orchard setting.
As that robin, grey cheek, blue tweet,
or an nightingale’s unearthly chant,
those silver throated ushers are a boon.

I am the salt of the dearth
tease your taste buds and
drape sweat for discomfort
You need not know how
I came to be in the ocean
not have to walk on water
but why wait for the Ark
instead start walking today
be a mariner in the desert
zest and spice lie in the path
Shed one more weeping tear
express anger fear and thirst
inhale perspire gather yourself
lick your wounds and salve them
for Aloe grows well in the desert
The passage of time and effort
corrects soil and bears flowers
once you accept dehydration
shape exhaustion into crystals
build memories and momentum
reach the source of your spring
float when rock bottom ceases
The river bed expects no less
than your impermanent stride
the shore line patiently points
to an anchor life buoy and chart
scratched into your inner compass
If life gives you plentiful salt
do not sugar coat your palate
savour the tasty flavour instead
take what is on offer just now
and fend off the gloomy despair

The 22nd Annual National March
for Life.
Your National Anthem so lovely,
Your land, so blessed and beautiful.
Since 1969, four million babies
never got a chance to be a poet or
be one of your outstanding hockey
players.
This made me think, if every member
here had been aborted...
Oh, what a horrible thought,it chills
me to the core.
The deep, the beautiful poets here.
Would never have had a chance to
sing life's melodious song.
Oh, Canada.!
God bless your beautiful people
Standing in front of Parliament,
Defending life!

William Lewis woke up one day to see
a jungle, frightening and dark,
not knowing how he had arrived there
or which way he should embark.
He heard the stirrings of strange creatures
in every cranny and nook.
There was fear, violence, and aggression
in all directions his eyes took.
In trepidation, he wondered, "where am I?",
as he got ready for a fight.
"Is this another planet, or is this Hell?"
he asked and slogged the bitter night".
Just then, he was interrupted by a voice
that informed William as it spoke,
"Your free trial has been completed.
It's time that you awoke."
Upon hearing this, he remembered
he had signed up to see,
given it was the year 2125,
"How is the new virtual reality?"
The legal team and marketers decided,
based on this beta trial,
a warning label must be attached
stating the risk of experiences, vile.
We search through the contents of your brain
and take what we can find,
WARNING: THE WORLD THAT YOU WILL LIVE IN,
IS A REFLECTION OF YOUR MIND.
Fireball rise red lazer ray has spear horizontal
Sending a shedding of angel wing span blessing
Busied birds converse beneath apricot mottle
From dawn huddle, welcome warmth suggesting
Splendour awaiting, drive Wednesday to Pacific
Three beach night stays after so long, a year's wait
Travel to shore infinite, lapped sand map terrific
Coinciding coastal followed day, I'll turn thirty eight
Egg fried ocean, toastily popped tomorrow's coast
Simmering indigo pot turns turquoise shimmer
Crash marvel intensified if today I'm able to boast
Comp entered in June has judged mine a winner
Whilst very unlikely my little poem will number
Against names recognised, English professors
Threw my lines in the mix so regret slid asunder
In the year of realising poetry's divine pleasures
22nd September
Of the age of one to thirteen
Young, untapped kids
Of the team of 53 beggars in "Kaduna"
Fresh, unripe fruits
Of multiple-colours of plates at hand
Vivacious, veil children.
Of a song of sorrow to beg for food
Haggard –looking dirty issues
Of no means of livelihood . . survival
Wretched beholding green horns
Of kids known only to hunger . . .penury
Poverty-stricken children
Of brood with no shirt . . . shelter
Alms-begging unsullied progeny
Of our future seeds garbed in gloom
Destitute-turned juvenile
Of them hoodwinked with religious slate
Miserable-infantile, no scroll to read . . write .
They are the “Almajeris” of this land.
