The Greatest American Generation

They came with dust on their boots and a morning star,
Shadows of boyhood still clinging to their shoulders—
They were sons of the land, faces bright with the dew,
Carrying small, cherished photographs in their breast pockets.

They rose with the sun’s trumpet call at dawn,
A summons to arms, to fear, to death—
Yet they did not tremble,
They carried the burden like a hymn on their lips.

Mothers with hands trembling at kitchen sinks
Counted each day as an offering—
Each letter a balm, each silence a wound.
Their prayers rose with the smoke of factory chimneys.

The beaches were gardens of iron and flame,
Where the sea’s voice met the cry of youth—
The soil drank of their blood,
And the wind carried the story homeward.

O Freedom—your price is the soft hush of sacrifice,
The echo of a last goodbye in the night—
They sleep in quiet fields now,
Their names folded in the flag’s bright embrace.

Pride blooms in the hearts of those they left behind—
A tender ache, a candle that will not be quenched.
We walk in their footsteps, grateful and small,
Ever humbled by the price they paid for us all.

Let's start holding hands
Then proceed like thus
We'll hug the first verse
Then kiss the chorus
With lots of repeats
And much give and take
I think you'll enjoy
The song that we make

We’ll Ride a Horse Down Rocky Path

We’ll ride a horse down rocky path
Fall in love in the aftermath
Well do-si-do and do it right
Me and honey can dance all night

Roll away to a half sashay
‘neath the moon’s where we’re apt to stay
We promenade around fig leaves
with rolled up jeans and shorter sleeves

Hanging out in the doghouse tree
I circle left and she don’t leave me
Promenade with a giddyup
Be home in time for kiss-make-up.

Allemande left as we make things right.
all things beautiful, all things bright.
Weave the ring, a forever link
All ‘lone till life turns blue and pink

Our bodies against our souls ll

Our souls want to stay
Our bodies want to leave and receive new love, exploring a new world.

And if one day we feel imprisoned by the whole world, return to our never-separated souls.

The Humber Ferry

By heck it was cold on the Humber ferry

The water was deep and Hull smelled like leather

May I mention the bridge it’s all there’s left

The boat man’s gone, it must be the Styx

Right it was cold on the Humber ferry

!ow I’m a widow from him who I married

His mother was Hilda his father was Harry

His father went fast but his mother did tarry

We could well have drowned her

If she had come on the ferry.

Premium MemberHer Majesty Queen Elizabeth Ll

It is in these times we remember
here in the UK her majesty the Queen
in my lifetime Elizabeth so royal
showing real dignity even in her teens

Her coronation before my birth
so in the earliest times on the TV
much and often her presence there
always looked up for then I was wee

The Queen has been a model of majesty
faithful in duty, full of faith in her Lord
showing her belief in the sovereign God
with trust in God's word her sure sword

The amazing miles across the seas
her majesty traveled both near and far
a great lover of her own Scotland
loves its beauty high above every star

Now been on her throne these 70 years
platinum indeed so richly deserved
for all these years of undying service
many challenges but never one she swerved

Now tonight her majesty has gone
her smile not be seen again
a testimony of selfless service
always was her people's friend!

(My thoughts on our majesty Queen Elizabeth reaching 70 years on the throne of Great Britain.
But tonight (08/09/22) sadly has passed from this world and we mourn a great Queen and inspiration who we may never see her likes again.)

A Poem On Weather Ll

There is a change
that is revolutionary
and almost normal
but marked
in experiences
if it is a colour
it might have been
named
as a kind of nomenclature
and if it is a sound
it might have been
heard yesterday
today and now of course,
and if it is an establishment
it might have been
taught in schools
as a kind of knowledge
of course, though common
I think there is a
slight difference through.

Poem Ll

I wake up
and found it
a burning.
To light my
way at least
to travel.
Hence to where
I can find
that tis proofs.

Words of Advice Indeed To Heed Regards Ll

I have come to trust in Leanne advice
because it comes with great intention
and from the heat

And as recently as today she said

Like a graffiti artist who sprays his
wares onto an empty canvas

If your chosen art form be poetry
and the written word

Then spit , stick and pin whatever
comes into your mind you deem
worthy of screaming about onto
your wall of choosing

If not for anyone else but you
yourself and you

And if by chance some passing stranger accidentally stumbles
across it and in so doing takes
solace from it

Then surely this is the answer you seek
to the question

First and foremost do it for
for yourself and the shear love thereof
and if it touches the life of someone else
then so much the better

Because unbeknownst to you in so doing
you may be fulfilling your destiny
and the very reason you we're put on this earth
for in the first place

That being to save someone from themselves
they would never even know or get to meet

Who could just as well easily be a close
family member friend or neighbour you
never even knew was struggling or in a
dark place

Oh! Only God's love conquers all.
He gave humanity average people
Just like you and me. The
Very best gift he could possibly
Give unto us. He gave his only
Begotten and beloved Son,
Jesus Christ to bare our
Sins debts and penalties.

Liberating all of humanity,
Whosoever will call upon
The name of the Lord
Jesus Christ will become
Saved and inherit ever
Lasting life. We have no
More fear of tomorrow!
He conquered all of our
Sorrows!

Oh! Only God's love conquers all.
His only begotten Son liberated
Us from our Adamic disgraceful
Fall. By becoming the second
Adam, the Son of God and
The Son of Man. He will
Truly set us free. We just
Need faith and believe in Him!

Love in Christ Jesus!

Do It Right Or Don'T Do It At Ll

do me the honor
of being my wife
love me forever
us together
as man and wife

together
us together
in a union of love

who knows what tomorrow brings
it's more than the weather
you and I together
making our way thru the days
we can be apart
and have things
go some kinda way
but if you say
i'm yours forever
then you can make me
the happiest man around
how does it sound
me and you together

ain't gotta be fancy
something simple
just call up some friends
and a preacher
we can keep it nice and simple
get it right
or don't do it at all
thats what folk say
let's do our thing
do it up our way
let's marry one another

some might find it
easier to take advantage of
you in this type of circumstance
i wanna keep you way from those harms
if only you give me the chance
just give me the chance

let's leave this place as
fiancees
and start creating our tomorrows
if you break someone else's heart
to be with me
then i'll have tomorrow
do it right or don't do it t all
someone needs to recognize
i'm the man for you in all circumstance
just say you'll be my wife

but literally
try to make

out me
having to make
