Limber Up Poems | Examples

Premium MemberEvening Dance

We got a week to prepare
But let’s be fair
There will be a lot of stretching
Limber up
The music being just right
The stage and you in the spotlight
There can’t be any mistakes nor miss steps
We must rehearse and capture the music with every dramatic
Movement
Finesse
Every twist and turn feeling like a test
You alone will be the outcome of confess
Dance dramatics to the audience
Dance and feel the music
Let your feet and arms be your compass
Think of the orchestra as your Music Director
The rising curtain your chance to fame
It will be your name
Dance like the sun being bright
Let your movement radiate warmth
Show your love for entertainment and the audience
The raw of applause in what you have established and accomplished
Grace and creativity with every step
You are the effect
It’s showtime
Take your places
Spotlight on
Music
Production
Finale
Audience applause
Bow
Curtain down
That’s entertainment

Premium MemberThose Lucky Boys of Summer

'Round here it's winter, cold as hell
Down there the chosen, a few lucky boys
answer the call of the Opening Bell
   ~ Spring Training in Arizona

They jog out to the field for the first time
That feeling of renewal, mighty fine
limber up with stretches and beer
   ~ Spring Training in Arizona

Back in the Heartland, north winds blow
frozen fingers, shoveling snow
as They job along and toss the pea
~ Those Lucky Boys of Summer

One by one they step to the plate
their first few swings like rusty gates
Then the base hits, line drives, begin
banged out by boys -- now men, with
      gap-toothed smiles and devilish grins

~ Those Lucky Boys of Summer

Premium MemberThe 1 'N 2 Step

I don’t know who is more excited
At the thought of my weekly visits
Me or the old folks at the residence

I bring along some cheerful music
and we limber up their appendages
Swinging about at first up and down the arms
Then moving those corny feet from side to side

Let’s shake it out and let’s begin
We’re going to learn the 1 'n 2 step
All together we can all do this:

Put your LEFT foot out and pout
Bring it back, give it some slack
Now your RIGHT foot out and move it about
Bring it back, smile and hunch your back

And repeat And repeat
Now you got the 1 'n 2 step down pat
So we’ll pump up the volume
And do it again but in unison
1 'n 2 and 1 'n 2
Don’t get too excited and hurt yourselves
You’re doing great
1 'n 2 and 1 n' 2
And that’s it… we’re done
Awesome work out
Practice and I’ll be back next week!
